Succeed PT is not like any other place where I have been a patient. Bill Kentopp, PT, DPT, MTC makes all the difference. Bill is by far the most amazing therapist I have ever encountered. My wife had a total knee replacement, and I have had three surgeries to reconstruct my feet. I don't know where we would be without the gentle encouragement and knowledge of the human body that Bill Kentopp puts to use every day. Some physical therapists give you some exercises to do and sit back as you struggle through, as if they were afraid to touch you. Not so at Succeed Physical Therapy. Here the treatment is very much hands-on. Bill inspires other therapists and PT techs to do what he does. With good humor, compassion, and infinite patience as well as awesome knowledge, he guides every hurting patient through the difficult journey of recovering strength, movement, and well-being. He has a servant heart. It's so amazing to see him never hesitate to do tasks that PT should have done and overlooked. There is never public correction, which would be humiliating to the tech. I had to rehab my Rotator Cuff after surgery and tried a chain store(ROC), horrible and almost made me do therapy on my own. My experience was even better than my wife's! I asked Bill to fix me. I had fallen and broke my right hip in February '21 and was using a cane to help me walk. I spent the next few months working on my balance and leg strength after getting out of rehab in May. Nobody has the feel and knowledge of PT as Bill does. This is not my first physical therapy office since severing my foot in 2015. But it is my favorite. Jim is fantastic. Everyone is very attentive and helpful here. Other offices barely notice you are there. They don't watch HOW you do your exercises. But here everyone notices and helps you if your form is incorrect. That is crazy important. Jim and Bill have both helped me with my knee many times. They recommended an amazing orthopaedic surgeon who actually didn't do surgery. He told me to hold off and have Jim and bill work my knee as much as they can And hold off on surgery as long as possible. I have just finished therapy for plantar fasciitis and ankle tendinitis. I was very discouraged at first. But with time and adherence to therapy and at home exercises, I am now pain free. Bill was literally an answer to my prayers! I found the Succeed Physical Therapy website during a sleepless, painful night. I was so impressed by the free resources on the website, that the next morning I called Succeed and made an appointment with Bill. My primary care physician told me that my low back pain was due to torn ligaments and that the pain should be short lived. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case since I had been struggling with chronic pain for about 18 months. During this time my husband and I were asked to be adult leaders for a 24 mile hike with teens. I didn't know how it would be possible since walking several feet was so painful. Within a couple of months Bill got my back in shape and I was able to hike all 24 miles without pain! I even fell twice! Bill gave me tips for managing any back pain I might experience along the hike, during the long car ride, and sleeping on the ground. I am 100% certain that without Bill's help I would have not been able to go on the hike and I would have missed out on so many happy memories. Currently, Bill is helping me with my tennis elbow. I had been seen for surgery-related physical therapy for a few months after my hip replacement and made some progress. After two months I developed serious complications and required intense therapy which meant choosing a different facility. My husband had seen Bill at Succeed for several problems and had great results, so that is where I went. I found exactly the treatment I needed. The entire staff is friendly, skilled in their tasks, hard working. Bill's evaluation was exactly what I needed, the exercises and treatment were very individualized to my condition. He wrote an at-home program to continue the work between visits. I made good progress and was able to "graduate" after five months of care. In our Town of Maricopa there are two Physical Therapy locations. I checked both of these locations as I found some of their equipment was broken/not usable for weeks. Since I had no knowledge of another PT place, I tried them twice. My experience was a total disappointment. Therefore, I decided to travel the 39 miles (78 miles round trip) to Succeed Therapy. Jim and Bill are true professionals who know and practice their skills. Their equipment is clean and wiped down after every patient's use. The tables, bikes and other equipment are in good working order and clean. Currently, Success PT has a Zero Gravity Treadmill which is extremely hard to find. If you must regain the ability to walk, this machine is used. After your lower body is sealed in the plastic chamber, the air pressure is increased to counter your weight on your feet. Then you can "walk" building up your leg muscles. As you gain strength, the amount of your weight on this treadmill is increased. I feel the entire crew is watching out for my well being. I tend to push myself too hard as they watch, advising me the best way to advance. They first place ice packs on the area requiring therapy. My two local locations did not apply ice packs first. All therapy providers apply ice packs after the therapy but I've found only Succeed Therapy applies ice packs first. That's a clear sign that they are providing superior service. Succeed P.T. floor space is kept neat, very clean and fully function. I have been under Succeed Therapy care for FOUR issues over the past several years. So early this year I was sick, laid up in bed, really reduced my activity, as I recovered I noticed my back was hurting, it got worse and eventually became so bad I could barely get home from work, stayed out of work almost 6 days, I was distraught, depressed, really,,, I thought this was the end of my being able to do anything. Went to my family doctor, getting a little better went on to a doctor in Mayo who advised me to go to a physical therapist. Did my research and found Bill at Succeed PT, Bill gave really evaluated me, my limitations and he listened to my fears of becoming a invalid ! He had me strengthen my back muscles(slowly of course), once he discharged me from his care he gave me instructions on my exercise regime at the gym, followed up with me via e mail for a few weeks, I faithfully go to the gym and exercise, now including those specific to my back, I occasionally have " painful twinges" that warn me to be careful but I feel I am "whole again". Without the guidance from Bill I fear I may have become dependent on Ibuprofen or other meds, I am not, yes I take Ibuprofen at times but a few times a month , not the 3 or more times a day I was before ( in addition to other stronger meds I was given). I quote Bills advise to anyone who complains of back pain. " My Physical Therapist says ,,,,,," There's more!! LOL, turns out that Bill's partner, Jim is the therapist that got me over a terrible rotator cuff/biceps tendon surgery a number of years back , at the time I never thought I could return to work,I did! Jim and the same Physical Therapy assistant who was so very kind to me at that time, are still together, now working with Bill, that loyalty means something in this day and age. The office staff was very nice, remembering your name after a visit or two. The office is on Alma School and Baseline,easy access to the parking lot from Alma School and Baseline both, good parking, office hours are good for a working person, BTW, once he thought I could manage by myself Bill discharged me, and followed up , told me just to call if I felt I needed more assistance, he didn't keep me hanging on even thought I was afraid to go it alone. I highly recommend both Bill and Jim at Succeed PT, if you want to work at it (and it's a team thing) and get better, they are the ones to guide you along the way read more
