Lots of amazing sweets. The selection was mind blowing. I would skip dinner for one of the many treats they have to offer!

Every year, Vincent and I sit down with Mario to design the cake around whatever he's into that year, and those memories alone are priceless. Mario is incredibly patient, creative, and kind with Vincent, and the cakes are always beyond amazing. Not only are they beautiful, but they are honestly the BEST tasting cakes we've had anywhere. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and high-quality -- never overly artificial or too sweet. Every single year, Mario delivers perfection, and the cake always becomes the centerpiece of the party. We are so grateful for Cake Plus and highly recommend them!

This will be my first time coming out to this location, which is a little harder to get to than the Linebaugh location, but with a little luck and patience in the S. Dale Mabry traffic, I managed to get in. The outside of the building is quite unique and welcoming amongst the other surrounding buildings, triangle-shaped with a few cute cafe chairs outside. I got my order to go, but I did marvel at the adorable inside of the shop with more cafe tables that look homey and inviting. The lady behind the counter was nice and greeted with upon arrival, and was patient as I perused my selection. My favorite cupcake of theirs, the mocha cupcake, wasn't there, so I had to stop and REALLY look at the other choices in front of me, WHICH WERE A LOT and it was hard to really zero in on what I'd like. I noticed the poundcakes behind the case and immediately thought, maybe I'd try those instead of the cupcakes. They're a decent size, and I've never had them before, and the flavors intrigued me. I selected a coconut rum poundcake since it is coconut cake versus plain butter like the others and was feeling like coconut. I added the packaged cookies behind the case as well. I remember how great the cookies were, and though the selection wasn't what I remembered from the last shop, I still found what I'd like. I was not disappointed with either selection. The cookies were mildly sweet and I could really appreciate the almond flavoring in it, soft, buttery, and kinda crisp around the edges but dense in the middle like a very delicious shortbread. The sprinkles added a nice whimsical touch. And man, am I glad I went with something different. The poundcake was quite heavy and big, and for a moment, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish it (imagine that!), but NO. The heaviness is from the rum it's soaked in. The cake itself is very soft and buttery, with a delicate taste of rum and coconut. I enjoyed the coconut icing with flaked coconuts on top for an additional touch of sweetness. They do allow my Muffin there in her carriage, so I would definitely have to come back for a cupcake and latte (or of course, the poundcake).

This has been a great year for discovering desserts, that's for sure. I enjoyed discovering this…read moreother local gem that offers coffee, tea, desserts, and some savory pastries. I must admit, I was a little intimidated by coming out here originally because I thought I was going to have to go through the interstate, not be able to find paid parking, and be far away from it by the time I find something, but parking was incredibly easy and ample. Right at the outskirts of Ybor, is this adorable, charming coffee dessert boutique like place with outdoor seating so my adorable Muffin can enjoy her day with her mommy. (You can go up to the counter with the dog, but you can't dine with them. Not a problem because their outside seating is plentiful, too and just as gorgeous.) Already, I was getting such a great vibe. I ordered a special chocolate latte and some pastries, which was exactly what I came for. Their pastries and cakes are nicely displayed behind a glass case and they had a large selection offerings. I went for some macarons and tried a slice of their chocolate chip ricotta cake, and took this outside on such a beautiful day. Every item I got were crafted with care to detail and taste. The breakdown: The chocolate latte. Beautiful latte art, creamy with hints of chocolate and caramel . Macarons: Chocolate chip pistachio with chocolate chips inside and drizzled with more chocolate. Ube vanilla, sweet and complex, and I loved the purple. Black coffee, possibly my favorite, with the strong coffee flavor. Each of these were delicate and crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside. Perfection!!! Chocolate Chip ricotta cake: Looked like a small piece, but this thing was DENSE. Soft, moist, and generously studded with chocolate chips. I was pretty full when I finished everything. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I really enjoyed coming here and loved how their pastries and desserts are works of art on their own. I can't wait to try more!

Ambiance is fairly quiet and absolutely adorable. Many guest spread out reading, working out just catching up. The team was happy to recommend from the menu, i had the hardest time picking between all the treats.

In the middle of the market you'll find tables and chairs alongside grab-and-go options. The bakery display is impressive. The beautifully decorated pastries and a huge selection of desserts were amazing to look at. And the service at each station was welcoming and helpful. We ordered the California steak wrap, deviled crab, zucchini muffins, and the ooey gooey butter cake. The California steak wrap was okay. It leaned a little oily and I wish there were more vegetables to round it out. The deviled crab had a nice flavor, but there were small shell bits that threw me. The zucchini bread tasted good, but was quite sweet. Same with the ooey gooey butter cake, just very, very sugary. Not a bad visit but nothing really stood out this time. I'm open to giving them another shot, maybe for pizza or other pastries.

This new location is massive, but the food is still the same. I have several critiques, but the only things I'm going to mention are these: first, the pastry counter is way too high. No one can really see over it at the employee behind unfortunately, and patrons don't seem to understand how to get in line or order. There needs to be permanent markers set up so people can view from behind the counter areas and then order once they are called it has been a cluster the five times I've been into the shop. As well as the employees are visibly stressed because of the above Second, I don't think there was any reason to bring in a name-brand coffee shop. You are a huge Tampa brand that has been around for a very long time, and you could have sold your own coffee for a much cheaper price. kind of crushed the charm of a true cuban coffee experience. Lastly, there should be a one-ticket system. I enjoy buying something from every area of the store, but having to swipe my credit card three or four times is a buzzkill. There is no reason, in this day and age, that this should be a problem. You should be able to carry your ticket until you're ready to check out. This is one of my favorite places of all time an the new location is very nice, I'm sure it will just take some time to get everything figured out.

We enjoyed the food and the wine and the event overall but we were not served water the entire evening. I just think they have a few kinks to work out as they plan to do this type of event monthly. I would attend this wine pairing dinner in the future. The tickets were approximately $55 which was a good value.

I ordered the ham croissant (without cheese) and it was simply amazing. It was flaky, buttery, and flavorful even with the modification. The accompanying side salad was delicious and fresh. Dining in was a lovely experience, especially enjoying my mint tea (it was actually cold that day). I loved that the mint tea came with a traditional teapot and ceramic cup, adding a wonderful, authentic cafe experience. What truly set this visit apart was the amazing customer service. I don't remember his name, but the gentleman assisting me was absolutely the best and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. I am definitely returning and already looking forward to trying more items on their menu. If you're looking for delicious food and five-star service, Cote France is the place to be!
