I was feeling dead and exhausted after weeks of working 12-15 hours in a chair with no support and hosting an intense party for 40 people. It was my day off, and I was on the verge of tears with my back/neck pain and aching feet. I've never paid more than $50 for a massage in NYC, but I was desperate and I needed something close by that I could get an appointment at today because I've literally been non-functional all day. Suchada answered my phone call and offered availability within 30 minutes. I didn't know what to get from their long list of options, but explained that I had back/neck pain but I'm very sensitive to pressure. I was recommended the Swedish massage, and I opted to get it for 1.5 hours. They told me there was a first time customer discount ($149 instead of $185). The space is very calming and there was a station with orange-infused cold water, which was nice. Jess, my masseuse, was professional and amazing. All the stress and tension in my body melted away, and I tried to fight it but fell asleep during parts of the massage because it was so relaxing. I did find it a bit colder than I would've liked (but I run cold; I prefer temperatures of 74-78 degrees) but it was fine. I liked that the warm towels used to wipe my body of oil were scented. Now that I'm looking at these Yelp reviews, I'm sad that they did not tell me that there's a dry sauna I could've used :( But I otherwise had an amazing experience and I walked out completely rejuvenated. Very worth it. As a note, they apparently offer 15% off Mondays to Thursdays currently. Do not ever go here, extremely rough and unsafe masseuse. Feels like assault I paid for a 90 deep tissue, was given a lady who couldn't speak English. After repeatedly asking her to be gentler, she didn't comply and kept on using her body weight against me and elbow to press harder. I think she was under the influence of drugs; she just keeps going faster and faster -- don't think she was trained at all. I had to push tell her off and she pinned my neck against the bed and using her body weight and elbow to massage my neck. On a whim while I was in the city, I decided I needed a massage. I'd never had a Thai massage before so I made the spontaneous decision to give it a try! No regrets. This was a lovely little spa on a quiet street in Mission Bay. I picked a masseuse who seemed to be very experienced and had the time slot I needed. Her name is Manee and she was wonderful. I got the Thai Aroma Massage which is part East and part western styles. Perfect introduction to something new! Her instructions for me to simply enjoyer was just what I needed to hear. I enjoyed her kind and caring demeanor right from the beginning. And her massage care over my body from beginning to end was exactly what I needed to let go of life for an hours. And the stretching that happened was new but I really enjoyed it. When I came out, I was told by another employee that Manee is known for her stepping technique. I didn't experience that today but I'll be back for that. Just don't tell anyone so we can still get appointments with her in the future, ok? I'll be back! Tried traditional Thai massage to relieve some muscle tension I've built up and boy, was it intense. I appreciated the professionalism of the experience - you start by filling out a card with what intensity you prefer and what areas you want them to focus on. Vollra was my masseuse and although I selected 'medium', she was SO strong and gave a powerful massage. The massage bed is heated and they manipulate your body through sheets, so it does get quite hot after a while - afterwards I felt like I had just finished an intense hot yoga workout experience - would recommend hydrating a lot before and after your massage! Note also that the space is separated by curtains so I could hear the conversation happening in the massage bed next to mine. read more

I have never said this before but if I could give this place 10/5 stars, I would. While I initially found the massages to be overly pricey, I became addicted to the prenatal massages towards the end of my pregnancy. I was 41 weeks pregnant and I could barely stand with the weight of my baby. I practically went everyday for a week because the prenatal massage was better than any medicine I could have taken for what ailed me - the back pain was unbearable. I think the masseuse's name was Anna and she was so sweet, giving my belly a hug and wishing me well. This place was my haven during a challenging time and I could not thank them enough. After 5 years of being a customer, I won't be coming back. They give you a little card where you can draw on a body where you want the massage therapist to focus and where they shouldn't. I drew big x's through my legs and reiterated to the therapist that I didn't want any leg work. She then spent about half of the 90 minute massage focused on my legs rather than the upper body focus I had requested. This is the second time this has happened with different therapists, unfortunately. When I had booked the massage, I noticed a promotion on their website for a discount on weekday massages before 4PM, so I made sure to book at noon. When I paid, I noticed the receptionist had charged my card for the full amount, and when I asked about the discount claimed she had "forgotten" to apply it and provided a refund. My coworker had recommended this place and the embarcedero location has more parking compared to the other two Suchada locations. I was able to book an appointment with Anna on the Mindbody app and that's pretty seamless. When you check in they have you complete a worksheet that asks you the duration of the massage (1, 1.5, or 2 hr increments,) the level you want your masseur to go (gentle, medium, or strong,) which area of the body you want them to focus on, and is it okay for them to step on you (Thai massage style.) The interior is beautiful and ambient, they play relaxing music in the background for your entire session and it smells really nice throughout the space. It was my first time getting a Thai massage and it is a lot different from massages I've gotten before. The masseur does use their feet and yoga like stretches to apply deep tissue pressure to get the knots out. Anna would periodically check in with me to make sure I was comfortable (I was lol) with the level of pressure she was applying. I initially booked her for 1.5 hours, but about 70 mins into the appointment she had asked me if I wanted to make it two hrs and I immediately said yes. Anna was professional, courteous, a good sense of humor, and lightness about herself. You can tell she really enjoys what she does and wants to make sure that whoever she practicing on feel better after they leave. This was my first time getting a Thai massage in SF and a massage in general following COVID. Prior to the appointment, they will ask for your vaccination record and take your temperature. In addition, they will have you take off your shoes and store it underneath the shoe storage in the front of the store. The ladies in the front will hand your a chart where you can mark your preferred target areas and any areas that are particularly sensitive. I loved how much focus that the masseuse puts on your targeted areas. Although, I think my back was probably past the point of repair because it went back to it's normal stiff self a couple hours after. She also occasionally asked on comfort with the pressure level which was super considerate. Overall, it was a very relaxing experience; however, I wish they put a bit more pressure by using their feet since I still had a couple knots that were not really released. I have been a customer for 10 years plus. Overall, they give great massages if you are able to find the right therapist. The last massage I had, was mediocre. However, I had a therapist that I used for the first time. The therapist did a "lazy" job and did not pay attention to the chart I filled out prior to. I requested strong pressure and I wanted the focus to be on my neck and back. The therapist spent most of my time on my legs. The stretching portion of my massage was non-existent. On top of it all, the therapist stopped 8 minutes early. I still plan to use Suchada, but I will be visiting the other locations. read more

I just left a 30 minute upper back and neck massage by Bow and it was incredible. I went it with a lot of stress and very tight neck and trap muscles. At the end she even did some Thai stretching that felt so good. I feel like a new person and will definitely be back. Came here for my sisters birthday and we were able to book 4 people at 12pm on a Saturday! They do ask for vaccine verification and will take your temperature prior to the service Overall, i had a good interaction upon arrival, very straightforward. They have these laminated card for you to fill out your info, pressure level and focus area I ended up with Dao as my person and I had asked for strong for pressure level and for sure, you're going to get a strong pressure, if not even more (dont let her size fool you) - also i opted for deep tissue/trigger point Dao went straight for my glutes (which i marked as one of my focus area) and she went IN! I am also also for her to step on so she use a lot of pressure on there (i was sore so i was struggled lol). you can opt out of stepping as well. After that, she focus on my upper back and she was doing moves that i never experienced before! It really felt lilke she was readjusting my upperback cuz of all the knots i had. The best part of the massage is when she worked my traps and neck...i almost went to sleep. Dao asked me throughout if the pressure was okay but not too frequently to the point of annoyance and she use a lot of hold and release method (kinda like stopping the blood flow and releasing) I would say - based on the comments from everyone else in the group - all 4 deep tissues were a very big difference so i guess they do tailor it to the person.
