I recently visited Suchada Thai Massage and had one of the best massage experiences I've ever had. The location felt safe and easy to access, with plenty of street parking nearby. Be mindful of having to pay for parking on some streets as well as parking time limits. One thing to note is that there are two entrances--if it's your first time, the entrance across from Dumpling Time is where you'll check in. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. The waiting area was comfortable and thoughtfully stocked with refreshments, including water, dates, and dried mangoes, which was a nice touch and made the experience feel more hospitable. I booked a 1-hour Thai massage with Vollra. Before the massage, I filled out an intake form where I could indicate my preferred pressure level and any areas that needed extra attention. I requested strong pressure and she absolutely delivered. She was skilled, attentive, and seemed to know exactly where my muscles needed work. My back had been feeling particularly tight, and by the end of the session I could immediately feel a difference. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and significantly looser than when I walked in. A few things to know before booking: the massage areas are separated by curtains rather than private rooms. While this didn't take away from the quality of the massage, noise does travel throughout the facility. During my session, I could hear guests checking in, conversations at the front desk, and people being escorted to their treatment areas. If you're looking for complete silence or total privacy, it's something to keep in mind. I also noticed that this location has a sauna available, though it was never mentioned or offered during my visit. If you're interested in using it, I'd recommend asking when you check in. Do not ever go here, extremely rough and unsafe masseuse. Feels like assault I paid for a 90 deep tissue, was given a lady who couldn't speak English. After repeatedly asking her to be gentler, she didn't comply and kept on using her body weight against me and elbow to press harder. I think she was under the influence of drugs; she just keeps going faster and faster -- don't think she was trained at all. I entered at 2 Division, was offered water or tea by a nice a smiling attendant, waited about 15 minutes, during which I filled out a form to reflect my desired pressure, type of massage, and areas on my body I wanted the massage to focus. I was then escorted a few doors down to a different address. Unfortunately, this form did not get escorted to the other store front with me as it was clear my masseur either never laid eyes on it or chose to ignore it. After a few minutes of a back and neck rub he proceeded to contort the lower part of my body in ways that were neither comfortable nor healing. I asked him to go easy on the pressure and he proceeded to focus on areas of my body that didn't need attention, such as my hips, my calves, and my toes (still with heavy pressure). The masseur whispered that he was a healing doctor and if I lived in the area, he was available to treat my illnesses. If I wasn't face down at that moment, he would have clearly noticed my eyes bulging out of their sockets when he mentioned his healing powers. What an unfortunate experience this massage was, as I had high hopes given the reviews. When I mentioned my concerns to the attendant at the front desk he simply said, "oh, sorry". I gave this business two stars because the ambiance was pleasant and the massage area was clean and tidy. If they could just get their act together with their personnel, I would be open to returning. I came here with two of my friends and we booked our massage via phone about a month in advance. Parking can be difficult as it's only metered street parking. Come a little early to find a spot. Beforehand, we filled out a card about areas to concentrate, pressure (soft to hard), and if we preferred female or male therapist. They even accommodated my friend who has diabetes. I had a deep tissue massage with medium pressure. It definitely hurt, but the pain was manageable. There were moments where I relaxed. My friend who requested for hard pressure said she couldn't relax at all. They provided a hot towel at the end to remove the aroma oil. You can also request for 30 minute complimentary dry sauna room either before or after your massage. We booked the sauna room for after the massage. I felt the sauna wasn't too hot and we were in there for about 15 - 20 minutes before using their shower. They have two shower stalls across from the sauna. They provide shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, towels, robes, and slippers. Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our massages and the sauna room. Receptionist is pretty rude and inflexible. She demanded a credit card upon booking (when other places don't need it). Anyway when I arrived, she said no appointment was available. Made an appointment for the next day, and I didn't get a male therapist she said I would get. Massage was okay. They said it would be no skin contact and I selected no stepping. The therapist put her foot on my skin directly many times, and stepped all over through a cloth. Sometimes it felt good, sometimes it was much harder than the medium pressure. Clean | Friendly | Quality Service $$ I don't really go to places to pamper myself often, but this place earns an A+ in my book. I went with my best friend who booked our appointment and we loved this place. This was our schedule: 10:30 -- ($10) Dry Sauna 11:00 -- ($80) one hour of a Herbal Thai Massage 12:00 -- went back in the sauna for 5 - 10 minutes and then used their shower facility A small but nice dry sauna room -- SUPER HOT!!! We were sweating already within 2 minutes of being in there. Across from that sauna are two shower stalls separated with a curtain. They provide a shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and towels. It was kind of hard to shower there because the shower head wasn't attached to the wall, which could be a positive and negative. When we had to wash our hair, we turned off the water so it wouldn't get everywhere else wet. The shampoo and conditioner smells wonderful. (the whole place smells wonderful, really) They also provide loose garments for you to wear, a hair dryer, some used combs (suggestion: bring your own comb!), and water. (I know, those are all random things in one sentence, but those are items I could remember off the top of my head for this review). Lighting is very dim, so if you're looking to get ready for the day after the massage, this is not a great place to do so. They have 2 bathrooms with a sink outside separate from the toilets. One bathroom was a bit weird, or at least I couldn't see myself really using it, because the windows are tinted on the outside so you can't see in, but you can see everything from the inside. The massage area was very calming with dim lighting. They played this Thai music that made me think of people doing tai-chi or something. Since we went to the herbal spa, they had some sort of nice smelling aroma and they also put these hot compresses on my hands and parts of where my body needed a massage. My bestie and I were in the same room (again, each space is separated by a curtain) and we had two really nice (and STRONG) women massaging us. I never had a Thai massage so I didn't know what to expect, but they really did an amazing job. If you were uncomfortable at any point, just let the people know. I had Dang and I forgot who my friend had. Beforehand, I had filled out a card where they ask which points to concentrate and how much pressure (soft to hard). I've been going here for a little over a year now. Every therapist that I've been assigned has been great. Sadly, my last experience was 2 seconds close to me calling the cops. First, I requested a deep tissue massage with light pressure because my past experience requesting medium or hard pressure was more than I expected. I went into this appointment thinking I had it right by asking for less pressure, but I was so wrong. I knew from past experience that a Thai-style massage was not enjoyable for me so I make sure to request Swedish and/or deep tissue. This last massage was a Thai massage with hard pressure. Jesus. Christ... I was praying for my life. I had asked at least 4 times for less pressure and it kept getting harder. Considering I went to a Thai massage place, I wanted to be respectful of the culture even though I requested a different style of massage. My therapist, Sun, was stepping on me, dug his heels into my calves and ankles, elbows into the every sensitive part of my back, and twisted me like he was kneading dough. I told him on multiple occasions to decrease the pressure and in return it got harder and he'd ask me to breathe normally or relax. Absolutely love it here. I came here originally because I've been experiencing a lot of bodily aches and stress within my life. My friend recommended this place to me. It's small but quite cozy. It's quite and they play low ambiance music in the background. I almost fell asleep quite a few times during my massages because it was the most relaxed I've been in awhile. The staff are kind and accommodating. Let the massage therapist know if you have any prior injuries or an area particularly hurts. They will adjust the pressure. I've had both a man and woman therapist and while their styles were different, I enjoyed each throughly! There is a shower available for customers but it's best to arrive early for your appointment if you want to use it. Overall, the experience was just mediocre, we left disappointed rather than relaxed. I initially called to make the appointment and at that time had requested two female masseuses. I had to call back to change the appointment time and type (which they were accommodating for), and again re confirmed I wanted two female masseuses. My husband got a female but halfway through mine when my masseuses asked me to turn over, I realized I had a man. I think it would've been okay if they had been upfront about the situation, but because they weren't it made me feel like they either did not take down my request or they ignored it. Additionally, when you check in you fill out a card specifying what area of the body you want to focus on. I'm not quite sure why we fill that out cause my husbands masseuse obviously didn't read his and did whatever she wanted and mine still massages areas I had crossed off. My husband tried to tell his masseuse what he wanted during the massage but she did not understand (possibly due to a language barrier). No need for anyone boo hooing that Suchada is not a pull and tug sort of establishment if it comes up on a keyword search. For the record, it is NOT that kind of place. From the Suchada folks that introduced and popularized Thai massages to SF comes Suchada Herbal Spa their eco-friendly spa extension offering all-organic treatments. Even though Suchada Herbal Spa has been open for nearly 1.5 years, I'm surprised they don't have more reviews and I'm even more surprised that Mr. NSS found this place to treat me for a birthday massage. If you're looking to get pampered or to pamper someone special in your life then this IS the place for you. Suchada Herbal Spa is just a couple of doors away from their Suchada Thai Massage location on King Street, right across from Source Vegan Restaurant. There's plenty of free street parking that can be found in back of the industrial building across the way against the wire fences. Unlike their other locations, Suchada Herbal Spa offers more "spa-like" services like aromatherapy massages, exfoliating, and hot herbal massages (~$80/hour). They also have a dry sauna and showers for use after your massage. Earlier this month, Mr. NSS booked the Couples Escape Package (2 hours- $300) for us which includes: Sensuous Foot Spa & Reflexology' Treatment, Signature Suchada Thai-Style Deep Massage (w/ customized herbal heat compresses) and an Herbal Scrub. The receptionist will give you a drawing for you to mark the pressure (soft, medium, strong), and which spots you want massaged and what spots to avoid (if any). For the sugar scrub, you have a choice of lavender, lemongrass-mint, honey sesame, or cleansing tamarind. Fyi, if you have issues about your boobies and hiney flopping out during the massage session don't be. I'm sure these ladies have seen it all. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the professional and warm staff, then whisked into their changing area where we were given a robe to change into and a locker to put all your belongings in. We were then led into the shared room with two raised platforms; one for each of us. The massage began with a warm foot soak before our massage therapist used a wooden stick to perform foot reflexology. Now, I've had many Chinesey Foot Reflexology Massages and this was simply not the same. Manne, my massage therapist took her time and carefully dug into all the right spots which released a lot of tension. It was footgasmic. After 30 minutes of foot massage bliss, she massaged the front portion of my body; my head, face, neck, shoulders, arms, thighs, and legs with long and strong strokes before flipping me over for the best part of the massage: the deep tissue massage with hot oil. These ladies are tiny but make no mistake that they can beat up your body good. Manne dug, elbowed and knee'd every possible crevice with such consistent and intense force that it made me want to scream at some times. Believe me, it was in a good way. I couldn't help but giggle when Mr. NSS next to me yelped, "Ouch..ouch!" and he choose "soft" pressure. Geez, no wonder guys aren't cut out for childbirth. Once Manne was successfully done digging, elbowing, and kneeing me, she blotted a scorching hot herbal compress around my body while interchanging with some kneading. Even though it was nearly 90 degrees outside that day, the hot herbal compress felt so good because you can feel the herbs penetrating into your body further relaxing you. The lavender sugar scrub ended the massage; gently sloughing away all the dead skin. At this point, I was so ridiculously relaxed that I didn't want to get up. If they allowed us to sleep there, I would have konked out till the next day. Alas, I mustered enough energy to go to the showers (they have two) to wash off all the sugar scrub. Don't try to be a perv like "someone" and try to peek through the curtains because that "someone" slipped and stubbed his toe. Serves Mr. NSS right for being a shower creeper. *Hmmph* Ladies, you will leave Suchada Herbal Spa looking like you've done the walk of shame minus the skank clothes. Expect your make up to be tore up and your hair looking like mufasa after the massage. If you can overlook this, then prepare yourself for one of the BEST massage you'll have in your life complete with a happy ending...a deliciously soothing cup of herbal tea. I booked a 2 hour Thai massage for mom last Saturday to cure her body aches since she's a massage therapist herself. Art did a wonderful job so ask for him when booking yours. But, I think it's reasonable to offer free use of your spa facilities if your paying $125 for a 2 hour massage. It's now an extra $10 charge. This is regarding front office. I visited in person few days ago to schedule an appt for today. I initially wanted a Thai Herbal Massage, but they mentioned because of Covid-19 they weren't offering that, so I chose Thai Therapeutic Massage. When I walked in this evening for my appt. They didn't asked me any questions regarding the massage. Instead they gave me a paper asking questions regarding covid and to mark where in my body didn't want work to be done. I even mentioned that it was weird that I have to mark the parts of my body where I didn't want work to be done. Usually in other places you mark the parts where you want them to focuse on. Long story short the massager did a "Traditional Thai massage" and I wanted a "Thai Therapeutic Massage" since I wanted them to focus on my upper body (shoulders, neck, head) :-\ I feel bad for my massager. I just didn't want to complain to her and just tried to relax until session was over. Tipped her and left I probably won't go back. This was my first time here and unfortunately I did not have a positive experience. I usually tolerate decent amounts of pressure, but chose medium just in case, then asked multiple times for gentle pressure with no adjustments on the therapists side. I had to reach out twice to stop her. Unsure if there was a language barrier but she didnt even release once when I was saying "ow". I left in more pain than I came in with. I also did the herbal and it was so hot my neck felt sunburned for 2 days. Will not be returning. My friend did say a different location was significantly better however. read more

The highlight of my experiences though is the third time when I had the worst necklace and could not even move it and I saw Anthony for the therapeutic thai massage and I could not believe that after an hour of his work, my neck was already so much better and I got rid of the stiff neck. Swedish Massage, 10/30/18 4 pm with Sun PROS - location is nicely away from a lot of traffic and I could walk or car - got a last minute appt - $110 for 1.5 hours is decent - worked out many kinks in my shoulders and back - somewhat relaxing (see below) CONS - Sun practically skinned me alive. I asked him to soften the pressure at least four (4) times. I still ended up in pain and with a bruise on my arm. - They make you remove shoes which is fine. Except in the bathroom where the previous user had peed on the seat and the floor making me do aerobatics to squat with a very wide stance to avoid all pee. - The other bathroom has a glass wall that looks like a mirror but I could see thru it! Not good either. - Booking system and front desk is poor. Online was asked to pick a therapist, I did, then that therapists disappeared so I picked another. When I arrived they told me I was with the 2nd therapist. When I went to tip they told me I received my massage from Sun, who was not one of the therapists I had booked or confirmed with when I arrived. - They called me to confirm my appt. I asked four (4) times if they recommended the therapist that they switched me to (2nd at this point) and not once would the woman answer me. Her English was ok, but she was just being obstinate asking if I would accept #2. - They don't close the curtains between "rooms" well so privacy is minimal. This used to be my favorite massage place, and I was going about once a week to see Tina. Unfortunately she is no longer working there. I've tried 4 other massage therapists at this location, and all of them were subpar. Two of them couldn't get the right pressure, one of them didn't understand English well and didn't understand what I was asking for, and one would get the right pressure for a few minutes after I requested it and go back to what she was doing before (very light pressure). The massage therapists are inconsistent. Without Tina there, I've stopped going and am now looking for a new massage place. read more

Hands down my favorite massage spot, ever! My husband and I have been coming here for 7 years. (it's within walking distance of our house, so we don't have to worry about parking). The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful! We do have some favorite therapists... Paula and Noo are amazing! not that the rest of the team isn't good, but these ladies are our favorites! they know what they're doing, finding your knots and really working on what needs attention! I started simple with basic massages and then tried out some of the traditional Thai massages they offer. The Thai Herbal Massage is heavenly, talk about melting away the pain. The best massage I have had for a long time. Belle was excellent, she knows exactly where it hurts and worked out all the knots. The pressure was perfect, hard enough to feel good but did not hurt.
