This auto shop has been an immense blessing! Our family mechanic of almost 20 years retired a few…read moreyears ago and we struggled to find true and honest mechanics. As a female, I know how I have been scammed by mechanics. So I found true value in Christian Brothers Automotive-Peoria, Lake Pleasant Pkwy! I found this establishment via word of mouth from all the way in Michigan. Their reputation precedes itself. They are honest, knowledgeable, fair and they provide quality service. Tom, and the entire staff served with a smile. Overall, I would highly recommend this Christian Brother Automotive to anyone. We'll stick with them!

Without indicating there was ANY cost involved whatsoever, Front Desk Guy sweetly asked "would you like us to give it a once-over?" Which, since I was at that time a regular customer, I THOUGHT that meant just give it a safety-check out of courtesy to a repeat, publicly complimentary, senior-citizen client that they maybe cared for! How wrong I was. After having it several days, they tell me that they can't fix the original problem because they "Couldn't find the part - and wouldn't install an after-market part off of Ebay" (My car is a 1999 w/ low mileage) Then the real Clinker after 3 days: They call and say, "We couldn't fix your problem, but come and get your truck and pay Christian Bro's nearly $200 bucks for a "diagnostic" that I WAS NOT INFORMED UP FRONT would cost anything at all! But also, this 'Diagnostic' informs me that my truck needs OVER $4300 DOLLARS in servicings and repairs - Including NEW BRAKES that, apparently the "Diagnostic expert" wasn't aware had been replaced by them on that very truck a few months earlier! I felt totally taken advantage of and complained to the manager, John, who gave me some "yada yada" and stated that that particular employee working the front desk was fired - However, and this is the whole point of the story - This manager of this multi-million dollar, allegedly 'Christian', gold-mine on the corner of Thunderbird & 75th Ave would NOT refund all, or any part, of this deceitful charge with a humble apology for their unscrupulous employee (note: Failure to disclose a COST right up front is a LIE ) Not only that, but Upsell #1 opened the door for MEGA-UPSELL #2 of $4,319 dollars! I STILL look back at this lengthy report with shock and awe. According to this diagnostic that I didn't ask for, there's no reason, whatsoever, my truck is still able to roll down the street. According to them, practically EVERYTHING on my vehicle is on it's last couple of miles.; Lastly, and final insult to my patronage, my age, my intelligence, nor would Christian Brothers even offer a discount or a half-off on the next visit to them. You know, a way of saying, "We still want your business". I think they saw a senior-woman and saw a dumb sucker ready to be plucked out of the stream of suckers. In that lone experience, I learned Christian Brothers is all about "Show me the $ MONEY $" They are only after the money, and customer retention is completely moot. They could care LESS if you are a returning customer. I am no longer using Christian Brothers for any auto repair needs. If anyone knows of an HONEST, caring, competent auto mechanic around Peoria/Glendale please be so kind as to DM me. I'm shopping for one. **I tried to scan & copy the actual Invoice from this incident, but for some technological mystery beyond me - I couldn't get this file search in Yelp to access where I am sure I put the two files.**

After the installation, I took my car for a ride and there were many warning lights on the dashboard. Not sure if they damaged all the sensors on the car but all the sensors are now giving me warning lights and these warning lights will not go away. If you have newer cars, DO NOT let these guys fix your cars. One of the mechanics was hitting the back rotor with a huge hammer very hard to get it off and must have damaged all the sensors, I guess. Another possibility is that the other mechanic was using an electric saw to cut off the dust covers and might have cut a cable to cause all the warning lights to show up on the dashboard. I sent them an email about all the warning lights but no response from them. They were able to install the 4 rotors and 4 calipers just fine but the brakes don't feel very tight and feel loose when hitting the brakes. I have to push the brake pedal almost all the way down to the floor in order to stop the car. I recommend these guys if you have older cars with no latest technologies. When I picked up my car, the cruise control was no longer working. When I brought this to their attention, I was met with skepticism, as if my concern wasn't valid. That was frustrating, especially since I know my vehicle and how it was operating prior to service. They asked to keep the car for further inspection, which I agreed to. A couple of days later, they informed me the issue had been "fixed." However, when I asked what the problem was, I was told it was the cruise control switch. What raised serious concerns for me was what came next. When I asked for documentation or a repair record, I was told there was none--because the mechanic had paid for the part out of his own pocket. That explanation simply does not sit right. If a repair was performed, there should always be documentation--regardless of who paid for the part. Transparency is basic professionalism. The lack of paperwork, combined with the fact that the system was working before my visit, strongly suggests something happened while the vehicle was in their care. More disappointing than anything was that no one took responsibility, and no apology was offered. Mistakes can happen in any shop--but honesty and accountability matter. Because of this experience, I will not be returning.

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.
