I have been taking my 2003 Infiniti G35 to Porshe and Lucky ever since I inherited it. This model had many known problems, especially with the oil consumption.Regardless of any known issue, Porshe already knows about it and has a solution for it. The last problem I had with the Infiniti was last summer during hot Arizona heat when my A/C was blowing hot air. I tried to brave it through but didn't even last a day. I called Porshe and he was able to get me in immediately. Turns out my compressor had gone bad and needed to be fixed. A year later and the A/C is still running great! Took it in when someone rode in my car and noticed. After a quick test drive they nailed the issue down. Wheel bearings needed. They got me a great price to replace all four. Having moved to AZ 5 yrs ago I was in need of a competent and trustworthy mechanic to service my Honda and Acura. I got a referral from a co-worker and I've been a satisfied customer ever since. Akina Motors has been more than accommodating on short notice with quick turn arounds. They did a transmissions rebuild on a 2003 Honda Accord for me and although transmission work is not cheap, Akina Motors prices were fair. They've also done suspension work on a 2008 Acura and I have not had a problem with any of their work. Maybe I am special or maybe that's just how they treat all their customers but if you have a Japanese car I trust you'll be in good hands with Akina Motors. I highly recommend them. read more

i wish i could give them negative stars. i dropped my car off in march of 2013 to get a 2jz motor and transmission swapped into it. long story short they had it for 5 months and almost destroyed it while test driving it and the drive shaft ripped apart. i removed it from their shop and took it to another for a drive shaft. when i finally got to drive it the engine smoked and the transmission would drop in and out of gears. i took it back to them and they told me it was the turbos smoking and needed to be rebuilt and that the transmission needed some special adapter to make it shift correctly. after paying them even more money to fix what should have been fixed or addressed at first, it still smoked when i got it back and the transmission got so bad that i couldnt drive it. i took it to another shop for a second opinion (automotive diagnostic specialist in chandler, az) and the laundry list of things that were wrong blew my mind. i contacted porche at akina to try and work this out and he wanted me to bring my car back to them AGAIN. fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, but three times i think not! stay far away from this shop and any or all who associate with it, i believe they operate on the guise of knowing how to work on cars but for the majority they dont....... the old man was probably the nicest person there, the one always working. i feel bad that he is stuck coaching the JV team. I have been working with Akina for a couple years now. I have taken my 1997 Civic HX in for numerous fixes that have cost a fraction of the dealer estimates. Recently I took in my Toyota pickup - I had been told by another shop that the "oil leak" I was seeing in my driveway might be the dreaded head gasket issue. Akina took a look at the truck for me and thankfully found the issue and it was NOT the head gasket. Apparently the previous owner of the truck lost the battery tye-down and rigged up some lame strap system. This caused the battery to shift around eventually coming into contact with the power-steering system and caused the battery to start leaking. Not only did Akina save me a ton on a needless head gasket repair they also fabricated a secure battery tye-down system and pulled a couple hard to find parts no longer in production out of some donor truck at the scrap yard. I have had the truck for almost a year and today is the first time I have come out to find it COMPLETELY dry in the driveway. I am so happy! Those puddles of mystery fluid were driving me crazy! read more

I am so so so grateful for Porsche and Akina Motorsports!! After a suspicious rumbling began in the front of my car, a self-diagnosis was made that something was going on with the motor mounts (I have a 2009 Honda Civic). After it progressively became worse I decided to take it to a big chain repair shop...one look under the hood and they confirmed, YEP - YOU NEED ALL FOUR NEW MOTOR MOUNTS, WITH PARTS AND LABOR WILL BE $1,300. After I picked myself up from the ground I decided to get a second opinion, and this is where wonderful Porsche and his team come in. Not only did he review the pricing I was given, he also took the time to really investigate what was going on - he didn't just lift up the hood and say sure, you need new everything. As it turns out one mount was completely broken (please note large repair chain never mentioned this) - Porsche was 1) completely up front about what was needed to fix the problem, 2) able to get my car in ASAP, 3) order the parts for me and the best part! 4) Provide stupendous service at an affordable price!!! He saved me hundreds of dollars and I am so thankful that I took my car in to the REAL professionals. My experience with Porsche was great. Yes his shop is not the cleanest looking auto repair shop I have seen but I did not go there for open heart surgery. I just wanted my 2006 Toyota 4 runner back window and lift gate fixed after over a year of not working. Here is the story. Let my friend drive my 4 runner and somehow the rear window got broken. Was during a very busy time and just put some clear packing tape on the glass. After a week the glass fell apart and little shards of glass were all over including the inside of the back lift gate. So I had the glass replaced. Then the back lift gate would not open with the rear door latch. Kind of a pain since no easy way to get into the back of the 4 runner. Took it to the dealer and they wanted to replace the rear controller for around $600. (parts and labor) An estimate, could even be more. Asked around a found a guy that said it was probably a code was bad and needed to reset the code in the computer. Paid $150 for this guy to reset the computer code. Back latch worked for about 2 weeks and then quit. Called the guy back and he said he would reset the code again for another $150 but there was no guarantee. Said might need a new computer or rear controller. Found another guy and he said basically the same story. Reset the code or a new computer or rear controller, again no guarantee. I had driven by Akina Motorsports a few times and always saw lots of Japanese cars and people working on them all hours of the day and even weekends. So took my 4 runner to Porsche and told him the problem. He said he had a guy that could look at the 4 runner middle of next week. Also the back window had stopped going up and down again, a real pain. It took Porsche's guy a few hours; but everything now works good a new. Long story short. When the guy replaced the back glass there are 2 electrical connectors for the rear window defroster. One of the electrical connectors on the rear window defroster was bent and touching the metal of the lift gate and sending random signals to the rear controller box in the lift gate causing the computer to receive mixed messages and messing with the system. So 5 stars for Akina and Porsche. A GREAT job and a less than the $600 the dealer wanted or what I had paid to for a faulty repair. This was not an engine swap or replacing a transmission or a major repair, but it was a difficult problem to track down and Akina fixed it after others could not. So I am a very satisfied customer. read more
