Although he said he would call back later in that afternoon, he never did. Even though our boiler was still working, he kept pushing us to replace it immediately and quoted $12k-$13k. We preferred to wait until September, and we need time to decide it because it was a big project, but he continued recommending we do it right away. The plumber recommended replacing the boiler as soon as possible while his schedule is slow, saying the price might increase if we wait until fall or winter. It sounds like the timing is based on his availability rather than on whether the boiler actually needs to be replaced right now. After June 15, he stopped communicating until my husband reached out again. On June 30, he sent his staff member, Frank, who opened the wall, removed the old bathroom faucet, and said he would return shortly. He never came back. Frank also took part of the old pipe, even though I asked him to leave it. He said he needed to take it but gave no clear explanation. My husband followed up multiple times. Guy finally responded on July 6 -- not to finish the job, but to raise the price from $1,200 to $2,400. I also read another review saying he changes prices multiple times, and our experience matched that pattern. And honestly, $2,400 just to replace a shower faucet with Delta brand is extremely expensive and hard to justify. Finally, we canceled the job. They left our bathroom wall open and the shower unusable for weeks, forcing us to use the downstairs shower every time. If you cannot finish a job, do not start it. If you start it, be responsible enough to complete it. I later learned he is better with heating than plumbing. I hope this experience does not happen to anyone else. Be careful when dealing with this company and make sure every detail -- especially timelines -- is clearly written before allowing any work begins. Based on our experience, he is unreliable, irresponsible, does not follow through, changes pricing after work has already begun, and allows his staff to remove parts without explanation. He doesn't deserve even one star -- zero stars is what he deserves. How could he earn anything with an unfinished job, an overpriced bill, and constantly changing the price multiple times? The other company wanted to charge me over $2200 to replace my expansion tank, pressure relief valve, and purge my gas boiler. I was dumbfounded. I visited Coles and explained to the nice young lady at the desk what I needed done and about the other plumber. She told me yes, they were cheaper, and the following day, she sent me a quote. My jaw dropped on how much cheaper Coles was charging. Chris came over. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything that he was going to do before doing anything to the boiler. If he ran into a hiccup, he would inform me before doing anything. I really appreciated that. He considered me and not do whatever without discussing it with me. Chris replaced several valves, replaced the expansion tank, cleaned the boiler, replaced a thermostat, and purged the boiler and the cost was much less than half of what the other company wanted to charge me.
