More than we expected. We arrived Saturday night around 7pm. Busy time. We had a table without waiting but food took a long time to be served (worth it! Totally understandable at a Saturday night). Food = 4 stars, service = 1 star. Sue's kitchen offers a variety of Laotian and Thai cuisine. Our usual order consists of their nam kao, chicken wings fried rice, and pad see ew. Their nam kao is soo goood, the burnt rice is burned to perfection! There are bits of peanuts floating in the dish, along with the sausage, parsley, green onion, and garlic pieces. It has the right amount of spice and sour taste to it. I usually ask for extra lettuce & they sometimes don't charge for it! Their fried rice was great, rice wasn't mushy which is a good thing. Very solid spot. Came here after my GF had been a few times and I gotta say I was impressed! The definition of hole in the wall Sue's Kitchen has some very tasty food. We came around 7pm and the place was packed even on a Thursday. We ordered the fried egg rolls, yellow curry with chicken and pad Thai with chicken. On top of all that we also got the Thai tea. We waited around 10-15 minutes for the food, but got the egg rolls first. The egg rolls came with a sort of peanut and sweet and sour sauce that was to freaking die for. So good! The pad Thai and curry came next and I'll say it right now it was really good. They give you a lot of food and it's not very expensive at all. I salivated at my friend's food posts and knew I had to come here. I did not regret. This is a local restaurant packed with great authentic flavors, generous portions, and reasonability priced dishes. No frills, just good food. What we ordered: - Combo platter: egg rolls, satay, deep fried tofu. My favorite part was the homemade peanut and sweet/sour sauce it came with. - Nam kao: sour pork mixed w/ deep fried rice ball. I had to get this because it was unique and I never tried it before. It was tasty and I loved the texture of the toasted rice with the chewy pork and as I scooped it into the lettuce wrap. My family didn't like how hard the rice was so I had most of this to myself. - Pad kee mao: flat noodle stir fry w/ beef. Best pad kee mao ever! Just enough heat and the flavors were on point. - Beef panang curry: the beef was overcooked and a bit tough but the star was the flavorful and slightly spicy yellow curry. I also wish the curry was a bit thicker because it was on the soupier side. - Pad makeur seafood: salmon and prawn stir fry w/ eggplant. he salmon was perfectly cooked, melted in my mouth, and the shrimp was scrumptious. This was easily one of my favorite dishes. Delish! Parking: this was tough at night as I had to circle around twice to find the location. It is up a very steep driveway to your right that leads into a parking lot, and the restaurant is in the far rear. Enjoy! read more

We were sitting at home pondering running an errand and decided that we were hungry. We knew that we wanted to grab some yummy curry chicken and curry prawns but our local joint was closed. Off to Yelp and we discovered Sue's Kitchen. We're happy we came here. Though a bit confusing to find (at the top of a steep driveway that appears to lead through a dilapidated strip mall into an old apartment complex?), once we got here we were happy they were still open for pick-up, unlike our regular local joint. What made us even happier? The food was delicious. Quick service and a busy lunch crowd regularly. White rice is the only option for the stir-fry dishes but that's fine. A pretty wide menu with reasonable prices at $9 lunch plates/bowls. I haven't had anything that didn't taste excellent. The highlight for me so far would be the Ka Soy soup which was not too greasy but heavy enough on a cold day. One word of advice: don't do any substitutions or special request without expecting to pay for the swap (even if seen as equal or lower value). That's fair, they just won't tell you up front if you want X instead of Y when on the menu they are the same price, it's a charge of a couple bucks. I've been reading the reviews on Sue's Kitchen since it opened. It seems to me that they have consistently been a good bet. I've actually booked marked it and have forgotten about it until I drive by. Always on our way somewhere else and usually mid morning. But this weekend, my husband and I were once again on the prowl for something new. He suggested a place on Appian Way across from the post office. That reminded me of Sue's Kitchen and I'm so glad it did. It's a nice cozy place that serves up some really good eats. We had a few things to get a nice idea. First was the appetizer plate that came with fried tofu, egg roll and chicken satay. Two dipping sauces (sweet and sour and peanut). All very good. Then the coconut soup. What a lot of tasty plump mushrooms and lots of chicken. We asked for spicy and it was. Not overly, but enough to encourage the coconut flavor to come through strongly. Very well done. Then our salad. I think I'm going to have to take pictures of the menus so I can get the names out there. It was a rice noodle salad with shredded chicken, peanuts, cilantro on a bed of ice berge lettuce. We shared everything and were very satisfied. Great service. Quick service. Dinner was on the table in short order. If you've been putting off or forgetting to come here, don't. Make a note and don't wait. A fine meal awaits. read more

She had thePAD THAI (rice noodles stir fried with shrimp, tofu, egg, bean sprouts and green onion topped with ground peanuts $13.00). She really enjoyed her plate and appreciated the complex flavor profiles of every bite. She also like the fact that the food was piping hot. I had the YUM GOONG (Prawns mixed with mint leaves, cilantro, green onions chili peppers, lemongrass, and lime juice served with salad $9.75). My plate was so flavorful and a great mix of hot and fresh. The ingredients really complimented the lettuce. I LOVED every bite! Sue's food is always AMAZING, always FRESH & always FLAVORFUL! I love bringing my family and friends here. First off service here is A1. Chris, one of the waiters, is always so welcoming and helpful. However all waiters are very accommodating, friendly, and they will definitely take care and check on you. I've come here a number of times and the food is always so delicious. I always try to get something new but my staple dishes are: nam kao, egg rolls (appetizers), pad see ew (noodle dish), panang curry (rice dish), bbq chicken w/ rice and papaya salad.. I can actually go on because everything I've had here is soo good. I could probably eat anything on the menu other than the seafood b/c I'm allergic! Also, the Thai tea here is legit and tops any of the milk tea places by far. If you have a large group I recommend calling ahead because the restaurant is a fair size and it sometimes gets packed during lunch and dinner hours. If you are in a rush calling in will do you a solid. The only thing is that the driveway is up hill but it is well worth the drive up for the food. I then saw that a later arrival table next to me was served before me (after I was finally seated) and then when the server sees my expression she says to me, "what did you order again? I didn't put your order in." She NEVER put in my order? That has never happened to me.
