I've never written a negative review but I can't let this one go. Sue was extremely rude when I walked in to drop off a bridesmaid dress. I asked her how much it would cost to trim a few inches off the bottom and she could not tell me. She never mentioned that she only takes cash, and usually needs to be exact change. How am I supposed to bring exact change when you can't let me know what it will cost? When I arrived to pick up the dress, I had to run to the bank to get cash. She was very angry and seemed extremely inconvenienced that I had to come back in with the correct change. It ended up costing $120, nearly 5x the amount I've paid other seamstresses for simple bridesmaid dress alterations. The dress was two layers of polyester, nothing fancy or difficult to deal with. I will never return, and will always drive 30 minutes out of the way to go to my new seamstress in Mentor. read more

The other reviewers are correct, Sue isn't the most friendly, but honestly all I care about is the work and she does do excellent work at a fair price. She has even done tailoring work for me that I never thought could be done. And all of it was done when promised. Will continue to go to her for all of my tailoring needs. read more

Stopped in to get a zipper pull replaced and was quoted a price 65% higher than any other place I've been too in past. Being in a pinch for a situation, I asked about how long it would take and she said I'd have to leave it overnight. When I questioned about time frame she snapped back and said that these things take time and she was busy, she had to remove entire zipper and put on a new one?!?! Really, it's just a zipper pull... Nothing else was damaged. I declined, made a drive to Mentor and had a new pull installed in less than 30 seconds and a bill for $8.00 flat. Based upon my experience, for future tailoring needs, I'll be sure to head back to Mentor. I'll save money and time for sure. read more

Sue has done all of our tailoring for many years. Her workmanship is incredible and she has handled everything from hemming to tailoring vintage dresses. My husband loves her work. He has a short inseam so we purchase longer pants on sale and she hems them with and without cuffs. Beautiful work. read more

Took my mother of the bride gown to sue to be hemmed 2 weeks before the wedding. Was told to pickup dress on the Wednesday before the Friday wedding. Went in to pick it up on that Wednesday and she had not even started the dress. We were leaving Thursday morning for the wedding. There was NO apology just said she could try to get to the dress that afternoon, it was all ready 1:00. I had all ready lost trust in her so I was not comfortable in leaving the dress with her. I took the dress with me thinking I was just going to have to wear it dragging on the floor. Called around and rashwood alterations told me to bring it right in and they would see if they could help. They looked at it and said they could have it for me the next morning on the way out of town. They quoted me $27.00 dollars and Sue's estimate was $80.00. Needless to say I will NEVER go back or recommend Sue to anyone. Sue was very unprofessional and never apologized. read more
