Date night withe the wife last night lead us to Suga Shack for some after dinner dessert to take home for a movie. Suga Shack is small, it's a little dive thru area and but it's easy to find and navigate through. They take your order at one window and get it to you on the other side. It was staffed by one person last night but she was very friendly. I had a bubble waffle with strawberries, banana and hot fudge. My wife had the half baked cookie. It came out pretty quick, and everything looked good. It was $20 for the 2 desserts so it's not the cheapest option. Overall everything tasted pretty good, the strawberries were very fresh, good amount of banana as well. As mentioned by another review the waffle is cooked fresh so the ice cream does melt on it quickly it's not something that travels well. My wife liked hers as well, she said the cookie was a little meh but the ice cream and toppings were good. It was a good experience, I don't think we'll rush back but if we're looking for dessert in the future and want something unique we may drop back by. read more

I love this place, my sister and I were out with our partners at firehouse and we snuck away to get some ice cream while they played pool. We knocked on the window and the woman told us she has just closed up, but offered to make us some sundaes! She ended up making us 3 sundaes and even offered to make an açaí bowl for us. I can't believe I waited so long to try out the Suga Shack considering I'm really addicted to sweets. Wow, this spot really fills a hole for me I was lacking in Bakersfield. The best thing about Suga Shack is convenience! I love that this is a little drive up stand rather than having to get out of my car and wait. I'm sure that sounds silly but the reality is I am on the go constantly and when I want a treat to reward myself, I'm usually already in my crummy house clothes and don't want to get all dressed up to go grab dessert. So that box is ticked. Everyone was prompt service wise and helpful. My stepdaughter tried the cheesecake and she was very happy with it. I ended up going with I believe a cookie type sundae. It was really sweet and decadent. Finally, another thing I am loving is I noticed they recently started staying open past 9pm and now close at 10pm most nights. I believe this is the biggest win because it is really challenging to find places after that hour for food and desserts that are local. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! read more

Gave this spot a try again, and it's fair to say that it's simply mediocre. Nothing too special about the ice cream or menu. Employees are not the friendliest, customer service could definitely be better. All in all, probably will not be going out of my way for this place. I always forget about this place, but my daughter got dessert for everyone a couple of weeks ago. This is a cute little drive thru shack. Maybe that's why I forget about it. They weren't busy when we got there so it went pretty fast but the sundaes were half way melted by the time we got home because of how hot it was that day. The service was great. I got the cookie crumble. It was ok. The ice cream was supposed to be cookie dough but there was hardly any dough: 1 or 2 pieces tops. The cookie pieces that come as a topping were dry and tasted like something you'd find at a grocery store. The fudge on top was ok but again tasted like the cheap grocery store brand. I asked for no cherry on top and still got one (though this was the least of my concerns). All in all though, the ice cream was just not very good and the toppings were underwhelming. read more

Very good ice cream. The bubble waffle cone is way better than funnel style, as the funnel style with sauce and topping gets soggy and mushy. The waffle itself is amazing. Full of flavor. Really the only down side is that this is a shack that was once baskin robins shack on white lane next to firehouse. The long line of cars going up to the shack is very awkward and a bit stressful.
