Horrible experience with the owner who baked the cake herself…read more I ordered a cake for my mother's birthday and when we cut the cake that evening it was uncooked in the middle by the filling. It tasted raw and smelled spoiled. The next day I called very politely to state that the cake was undercooked and was going to bring it back. The lady that answered who claimed to also be the person who baked it and owns the business said it was absurd that the cake was undercooked. Her approach on the phone was already unprofessional. When I arrived at the bakery she continued to state it was not undercooked and gave me a million excuses and continued to disagree with me. She continued to go back and forth with me while she had a client inside the bakery. I told her how embarrassing it was that she was acting this way while she had a client waiting to be helped. She said she did not care and would say and do what she wants in front of whoever. I repeatedly told her that I was not here to argue and simply get my money back. There was no motive for me to make this up and bring back a cake if it would've been edible. My family and I have made several orders from this bakery in the past and never had such an issue. I beleive one time we ordered a cake and it was really dry, but it was edible and we did not complain, and continued to make future orders. Very unfortunate that business owners scoop down to such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner to their customers. I have never experienced anything like this. As she proceeded to engage in being offensive she finally went to go get the cash and gave me money. As soon as she gve me my money back, I left. There was nothing left to be said, she was not trying to understand or reason. I would've even taken another cake if she would've offered to bake us another one for pick up the next day. Also, I rubbed some cake on her counter to show her how mushy and wet it was. She repeated to state it was not raw and continued to not want to take any responsibility. She got upset I rubbed it on her counter, but honestly she was so nasty that was nothing compared to how she was speaking and treating a customer. Please have respect for yourselves and who you give your money to. This place does not deserve loyal customers. I will never make another order here. I wish the business owner a ton of continuing success and may she receive professional guidance on how to treat her customers.

David's Custom Cakes is the baker who works with the Tides Estate next door, which is where we had…read moreour wedding. We came in maybe about a month and a half before the wedding for our cake tasting and it was a fun little experience. You pick which cake/filling combinations you want, and they bring out little cupcake versions of it on a tiered plate. My only gripe (which was minor) was that there were options that the Tides included in our package, but we had to pay extra to sample at David's (i.e. red velvet). We did end up picking that as one of the tiers of the cake. That is something I did appreciate - the cake design we chose had four tiers and we were able to pick a different flavor for each tier. Top tier was funfetti (saved for us for our one year anniversary), second tier was a marble cake with hazelnut buttercream, third was red velvet and cream cheese frosting, and the fourth and largest tier was the same as our top tier. Guests were able to pick which flavor they wanted and the marble was a hit. If you have any cake florals, toppers, ribbon, etc. you have to bring it to David's a week before your wedding. We don't live nearby and luckily our florist was able to place our florals, and since we had a simple cake topper, she ended up doing that too. But just something to keep in mind. Overall, I'm happy with how the cake turned out.
