French toast special. Comes with bananas, strawberries, walnuts, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. Absolutely delicious!

This was a wonderful diner in every aspect. The service was great, the food was delicious, and everyone in the place was very friendly. We would definitely go back here anytime we are in the area.

Best breakfast I've had at a restaurant hands down! Large portions, great coffee, and my sunny side up eggs were cooked to perfection. Definitely recommending this restaurant to everyone!

I did enjoy the mustard and baby pickles with it but the crostini was overdone and too crunchy. I asked for a side of bread and that came out warm and soft so I much preferred that. Atmosphere is elegant. Large spacious bar. Half full at 4:30 on a Friday. Service was slow and not welcoming. It got a bit better as more staff arrived but the original bartender seemed annoyed to serve me from the moment I sat down I waited about 10-15 minutes to be asked for my order after water was dropped. I waited another 15 minutes for my happy hour pate and fromage cheese platter to arrive. I honestly wouldnt have noticed the time if I'd felt more warmer welcomed. Also tried the fromage selection of cheeses. They were delicious but no one seemed to know which cheese was what. Several people later, the gentleman who delivered the cheese returned and kindly named those he could. I was told the cheese would come with bread and crackers but they didn't until I asked. Overall not an experience I enjoyed paying for or that I'd return for but others seemed to be enjoying themselves so my experience might be unique. I'd also recommend attention to the women's bathroom, toilet seat needs fixing so no one gets hurt.

I've had Cafe Navarre, an upscale restaurant in South Bend, for a while now so I jumped at the…read moreopportunity to finally come here for a carry-out lunch during the city's summer Restaurant Week 2026! I was short on time and money and felt a wee bit embarrassed to pick up my fancy 2-course lunch in a ratty t-shirt and jeans, but I was brave and strong and got through it the shame. I would like to dine-in here one day, looking nice and spiffy, to fully enjoy the vibes and have a nice date night with my honey. Finding a parking spot was tricky and annoying, even on a weekday, so be advised of that. So I can't speak too much on service with this visit nor how the drinks were (alcohol menu looks pretty nice), but I can talk about the food! So with the $19 restaurant week promotion, I could choose from a list of 5 starters and a list of 5 mains. I got the signature Navarre salad without the gorgonzola cheese and the white basalmic dressing on the side as my starter and the Waldorf chicken salad croissant with potato chips as my main. Chicken salad is a favorite of mine but I HATE when it is goopy and mushy. Gotta have that texture! So the to-go bag was quite light when I picked it up so my fat butt was worried I had paid twenty bucks for two bites of food. Nope! There was a decent amount of food inside. Let's start with the Navarre salad. Normally, this retails for $8. The produce was fresh and the candied walnuts were incredible. I do wish there were more green apples on it though. 8/10. Next, I gotta give a 10/10 to the fabulous potato chips. These were something special. Oh jeez, give me a whole bag of these tasty crispy slices of potatoes! Lastly, I gotta give only 7/10 to the chicken salad croissant. This originally sells for $17. Not a bad score at all, but yeah, this chicken salad was a bit too goopy for me. It tasted flavorful though and the locally-made croissant was great! Overall, I give Cafe Navarre 4.5 stars. I'm going to convince my boyfriend to take me here one day for a nice dinner date so we can try so fancier items on the menu! (But not too fancy - I don't want us blowing a paycheck on some $65 steak! I am a practical bougie lady!)

Shortly after we received our waters, the manager came by and offered us a full booth, which was great. We had impeccable service from a very knowledgable server who was extremely attentive. Decor is tasteful and there appeared to be seating on the second floor. Super cute located in an old bank building. Really enjoyed our evening at Cafe Navarre.

Amuse bouchée- melon and goat cheese, were we in for a treat???!!! As reviews mentions the service is great, Isabella took great care of us, we were worried when she disappeared in the back with the "manager" never to be seen again, not there to close up our table, not there to offer us birthday wishes not there to finish dinner very odd. She asked how the food was, we told her is was overcooked. The manager was listening in - then she disappeared. The recommendation for wine was perfect and that's where the good ends. We ordered tuna on a wonton, which was tasteless lacking flavor, salt, zero umami! The oysters, East Coast were raw, so not hard to screw that one up. We doubled this order for 3 people. We ordered the duck breast - we were told that we could not have the skin crispy, and the duck medium rare as a chef would be unable to do that. So we decided crispy skin and medium cooked duck would be OK. What was served was two slices of duck-contributor yes, two slices. Did we pay for 1/3 of the duck breast? No, we were charged for the full duck breast - Shrink-a-nomics. We also ordered the 'pork ribeye', to temperature, or MR. What we were brought was a grilled-grey-pork loin no ribeye, no fat, no bone. This was served over what was supposed to be polenta. But it was lumpy and flavorless. The flavor profiles of both the duck and the pork were missing, the sauce the jois, everything was off. We had a special signed card to greet us for a birthday welcome- but no offer of dessert or a menu or anything- just a don't let the door hit you on the way out.
