Not gonna lie, we expected a lot from Sugar Factory, considering all the hype they do. Bringing in celebrities to endorse them, the photo shoots of the delicious treats and the flashy restaurant interiors of pink and sparkles. We were so misled. This was a huge waste of time, and money. It seems to be one of those fad restaurants that people who think they have money, go to. The service was horrible!!!!! I'll say it again .... Horrible! The food was a fair price , until you got it, then you wondered what you were paying all that money for! After eating here, I read a few of the other reviews. I'm not saying anything here that hasn't already been said many times before. I also notice that most bad reviews get that same canned response of " we are sorry you didn't enjoy our amazing establishment, reach out to customer service... blah blah.." Maybe take these reviews a bit more seriously and live up to your own hype. I get why it was one of the only places in MOA that didn't have a 45 minute wait during the lunch hour. I'm not gonna lie, I was really disappointed in my experience at Sugar Factory in the Mall of America. We had a 7pm reservation on a Tuesday and when we sat down, there were maybe 3 other parties in the restaurant that seemed to be finishing up. It took 10 minutes for our server to come chat with us to ask if we wanted water and only offered drink suggestions after we prompted him asking him not to leave us yet. He shared he was the only serving working and we appreciated that heads up, however even with the grace we extended, it took 30 minutes before we received our drinks. We noticed other tables who were sat after us received their food before we even had our drinks. At that point, we decided to ask for our check when our margaritas came and then went somewhere else for our meal. This was my first time at a Sugar Factory and I was excited to try the fun, Insta-worthy food and desserts. Unfortunately, the service was not worth it. Now I will say, the passionfruit margarita and the watermelon margarita were delicious! Sugar Factory is best described as a tourist trap meant to drain you of funds in exchange for the most unappealing food you will ever encounter. Truly, I was shocked to see the quality of the burgers (I'd prefer a school cafeteria lunch). Additionally, the spinach artichoke dip was awful, and the price is abhorrent. Unless you're popping in for a little dessert, I'd steer clear of this place completely. We had a really sweet server, but it took quite awhile to get our check despite being some of the only customers, and my sister had to request her duck souvenir () separately as it was forgotten. This was fine for a birthday trip and we got some cute photos, but I would never recommend Sugar Factory to any of my friends or family. read more

Date of visit: October 12, 2024 I had heard a fair amount about Sugar Factory from a friend that lives in Minneapolis but also from seeing their location on the Las Vegas Strip. While looking for a sit-down place in the Mall of America, we decided to give them a shot. We were seated quickly but after that, service was pretty slow. The server was friendly when we saw her, but that was not all that often. To be honest, I didn't see her much anywhere, so I am not sure where she was hanging out, out of view. Foodwise, my burger was pretty decent, and I enjoyed the fries as well. Certainly nothing amazing or memorable, but also prepared well and to my liking, so I certainly could have done worse on that front. When you go to a place called Sugar Factory, you should have some of what they're "manufacturing," right? To that end, I ordered a Butterfinger shake, that being one of my favorite candy bars and not something that I get on a very regular basis. While it's large in both price and size, it was pretty disappointing, seemingly being 70% whipped cream, with ice cream and Butterfinger making up the other 30%. I would try the location the next time we're in Vegas, but maybe look for a dessert that I could share and that isn't a shake given how disappointing this one was. read more

You definitely have to know what you're getting into with this place -- particularly noting the "sugar" in the title. It was decorated terrifically for Halloween. It's a fairly noisy place, and there were some raucous happy birthday call-outs by the staff for several patrons. It's all fun, but definitely not a place to go if you're put off by loudness (visually and audibly!) The food was just okay. I got the chicken and waffles and there was nothing special about it -- the chicken was pretty standard chicken tender fare. Not all that far of a cry from the decent ones you can get at Costco. My wife and I are big mixed drink fans, but we are also not into SUPER sugary things. There is an absurdly huge menu of cocktails but seemingly all but a couple were over-the-top sweet sounding. And the basic types like a margarita were extremely pricey. I'm not above spending money on a good drink, but not in the $20 range for something standard. I've been to a few of the Chicago locations in the past and had a lot of fun. The drinks are super fun but the food has always been gross. Sugar factory is a bit of an expensive experience drinks range from ~$20-$100+. The food is kinda expensive for the frozen low quality it is. I hardly ever see the MOA location too packed but compared to the ones I've been to before they were a bit bigger. I seen that they decorated really cute for Halloween and had themed drinks so we decided to check it out. I got the Toxic Zombie & my sister got the Devils margarita (basically a strawberry marg). The Toxic Zombie tasted like chap stick. I know the drinks are served to be 1-2 ppl drinks but they are mostly dry ice & then a ton more ice on top of that. Not really worth the money. We also ordered food despite not liking it at other locations. We got the bbq chicken flatbread & fries. The chicken on the flatbread was gross, but when you pick it all off the flatbread with just the cheese was not good. The waiter was ok. It look a minute for someone to come out and seat us. There was a couple at the bar and a family of 3 that came after. Service was a bit slow overall. There were 2 waiters at first & a few more came in as it got later. Umm.... Lets start off with the food. The presentation was nice but I feel for the price I paid, it could've tasted better. Definitely pre packaged food. Theres not too many food options for kids either. Although my waiter was nice you can still tell she was a bit overwhelmed bc she had multiple tables but thats not her fault, thats the managers fault. She could've gotten more help from other staff. I don't like that this location doesn't have a bathroom. This was about what you expect. Decor is fun and milkshakes and drinks are photo worthy. That being said, food and drinks are average and then you throw on the crazy prices and you just have to chalk it up as a vacation lunch. If I lived close, would never go there just to eat. Including tip, it was almost $40pp for lunch with two signature drinks. The smash burger was actually really good. The brownie volcano explosion shake was way more show than flavor. It has two brownies, ice cream, donuts, and blow pops on top. These are all just generic, not high quality. The glass is coated with chocolate and mini choc chips, but you can't really eat those chips. At least we had enough of us to share and almost finish this. We have had two experiences here. The first, we had awful service and I thought "I'll never go back." Fast forward two years and we were celebrating my daughter's birthday at MOA and decided to go in for a fun milkshake. The restaurant was filthy. Floors had crumbs, used and abandoned tabletops sat the whole time uncleared. Our tabletop and the floors smelled like sour sponges. It took 8-10 minutes to get a server to acknowledge us. My boyfriend and I have been interested in this place for a while because of how cool it looks. We finally decided to give this place a shot today. We were sat two inches away from a gigantic TV of celebrities "having fun," at this restaurant and it was dystopian and chaotic. He sat next to me so he could be spared the offensively bright imagery. The server came over and asked me if I wanted anything to drink. As I was saying my drink order, literally half way through, she interrupted me to try and make me order some $40 goblet filled with smoke or whatever. When she was done her spiel about the candy alcohol smoke goblet, I began to finish my initial drink order - and she interrupted me AGAIN to tell me I couldn't have pistachios. (????) I finally got to order my drink (A regular espresso martini.) She went to go get my drink and threw it at my table and it spilled everywhere. This espresso martini had NO crema and 5 randomly floating beans that were placed on top in what ended up tasting like a 50/50 mix of straight up simple syrup and vodka. I laughed as I drank it because it was so bad. We ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and we ended up with a quarter inch chicken nugget soaked in mayonnaise inside of a giant bun. This is such a cute spot. Full of sugary sweet music and fun. They had cute picturesque backdrops for pics and it was clean. My server was super helpful and fun. I got a carnival Oreo sundae and it was fire. I literally had a sugar rush lol. It's super expensive so definitely bring a coin lol. Overall I loved it and would go again. Oh my goodness where to start! I have been wanting to try this place since they opened years ago. It looked like such a fun spot with cool drinks and fun foods... all I can say is WOW what a disappointment... Things are not marketed correctly here, beware. The ambiance is the only good thing I can pull from this place. It was a fun interior, although everything looked dusty and some of their fun word lights were broken and not lit. They played 90's and 2000's music which did make my millennial heart happy. The food I had here was terrible. Honestly some of the worst food I have had in awhile from a restaurant. We started with the Cookie Monster shake. The frosting on the side tasted freezer burned and clearly was done ahead of time. My son tried to scape the side with a spoon to get the m&m's and it was hard as a rock! The doughnut was a joke. So stale and dry! I've had better doughnuts from the Walmart discount shelf! This shake was $17 and said it came with white KitKats, they used part of a Hershey bar as a substitute... The shake itself was small but tasted good. The rainbow burgers are nothing special besides the color. They were greasy. I asked for ranch on the side and as you can see by the picture, they gave me a Kens ranch to go. Very strange. I was supposed to get a rubber duck with this order. I asked about it after the meal and the waitress said "oh uh yeah, we are out, I can give you a keychain" That would have been nice to know before ordering, not that it makes or breaks the order. My son got a chicken tenders happy box which is advertised as coming in a "Whimsical box." Obviously Sugar Factory and I have different definitions of "whimsical" because his meal came out in a plain white box. Everything's was just thrown into the box, very messy. The menu notes this meal comes with a "sweet surprise" that my server forgot and it turned out to be just a dum dum sucker... his meal was also supposed to come with a pop or juice and this was never given to him. The fries that came with my sons meal were soggy and my fries came out almost burnt. The tray my fries came out on was also dirty. While we were there it was us and one other family and the server stood in the back by the bar talking to the bartender the entire time, never asking about refills and just did an awful job. This is marketed as a fun restaurant and the waitress made no attempt at making it fun. PLEASE do yourself a favor and try a different place to eat at the mall! This place is NOT cheap (I got the rainbow sliders, sweet potato fries, happy box for my son and a shake for almost $60!) The Sugar Factory at MOA was an experience... I had never been before yesterday and I don't need to go back, but it was about what I expected. I went to celebrate a 12-year-old's birthday. We were there midday Saturday and it wasn't busy, but they were so short staffed the service was very slow. We got several shakes, 1 "insane" milkshake, and some lunch items. The "insane" milkshake was just too much - but it was cool looking when it came out. Prices were high, especially for the quality and the fact that most of the plates, cups, silverware, etc.. were all disposable. My (very basic) grilled cheese with tomato (no sides) was $12, the regular milkshakes were about $10, and the goblet drinks were between $20-$30! If you have a sugar lover in your group, perhaps make a stop? But otherwise I'd pass and try one of the many other options at the mall. read more

Now the shake he had looked good and tasted good, but 20 dollars for a shake when I have had fancier more complex ones elsewhere for half the amount is not something I will be running back for. So let's just start off by saying no kids menu Thursday thru Sunday. Order steak medium well came out medium, rare mashed potatoes, ice cold, and three pieces of asparagus had to send back. It's like they went back and added some hot water to the mashed potatoes. Caesar salad was over drenched in the dressing Iwas literally dripping off. Chicken quesadillas nasty greasy only had 4 small cubed pieces of chicken rubbery not sure what kind of cheese they used, but it was not the proper cheese for a quesadilla. So we continued to take pictures at the sign that had half of its lights out. We left and went somewhere that wanted our money. I'm unsure if they were short staffed or what was the issue. However communication goes a long way & so does acknowledgement. The place isn't that big, no long lines and the tables weren't full. The only one person who looked like she was having a good day was the bartender. I haven't heard amazing things about this restaurant as a whole, let alone the MOA location. I wanted to go for a drinks and optics, but the signs were half lit & the other behind a party at a table. Worth a visit if you are at the mall! I do think the prices are pretty steep for what you get, although for a special occasion it is worth the splurge. We went on a holiday so it was quite busy and the servers did their best to check on us and everything came out reasonably quick considering how crazy it was in there. We started with a nonalcoholic version of their fuzzy peach mango drink and a chocolate shake. When the server comes to pour the drink it is such a fun experience for the table with the "smoke"! My kids were in awe :) We went with the rainbow sliders, the chicken tender kids meal, and an extra order of fries. Our table was right up against the wall of TVs, which play a loop of boring advertisements for sugar factory. We got a goblet drink to share, it was ok but tasted cheap like a super sweet slushie. We got two other drinks, which were much better and fairly strong, but nothing special. And we got food, which was very disappointing and tasted cheap and meh. The donut on the cookie skillet was stale. The shake was good but I have to be honest. It wasn't all bad as my son is a little bit of a picky eater and wanted just a scoop of vanilla ice cream which they provided as a courtesy to us at no cost. First trip to a Sugar Factory. It wasn't busy with only 1 other table occupied. I ordered the Rainbow Sliders and they didn't come with the duck as indicated on the menu. Disappointed as they gave 2 Blow Pops instead after I promised the duck to my dining companion. The burgers were just ok. They are served well done so they were dry. Not worth the $25. My companion just wanted a small sundae and they won't do that. No kid size here. So he ordered a milkshake and couldn't finish half of it. It was very good. Staff did not proactively come to: refill waters, to see if we wanted something else, or take orders after we weren't ready the first time around. The peach colored one(I assume aioli) was bland, the white one okay... maybe ranch. As for the food items, I liked it all, BUT it's no different than what you'd get at Applebee's or better yet, pick in the frozen section of the supermarket. 3-French fries= favorite part of the meal. Thin, crispy, well salted and seasoned. Thankfully it came with a bit of ketchup which was used on the burgers till we were finally brought more. All in all cute place, fun ambiance, but the service will be their biggest issue if they don't get it together (including managers who stand around) Seems like a nice place to celebrate a birthday. My sister wanted to show me the sugar factory because the drinks are super fun! It is $42 and some change for one drink, but that being said, it was huge! The decor was so fun and the drinks were insta worthy! Marshal was the highlight of our visit! He really made our experience unique, fun, and full of laughs. Would probably skip this one next time. Was excited to go, but it just left kind of a meh feeling. Hostess was lovely, our server was great, but way too busy to have to serve the entire restaurant. Poor thing. She was doing the best she could and appeared to be the only one waiting on the entire place. Food was okay. We split the rainbow sliders and some fries which were both okay, but nothing to write home about. The prices are very high. The shakes and desserts look quite attractive, but the price tag, the timing and the wait we passed. Sounded like a fun place, but will probably try another place next time. read more

The food was an American meal and met expectations. The service was good even though they got busy. The entire staff worked as a team to make sure everything was taken care of and every table had service. The inside is bright and lively like every other location!
