We had some family visiting so we thought the Sugar Factory would be a nice place to have dinner. We made reservations and upon arriving we waited for several minutes before a hostess even acknowledged us, then they informed us they were only accepting cash; an inconvenience but something we could deal with. It was a strange uninviting atmosphere, almost as if they didn't want customers. The dining room was 90% empty. We were seated at our table where waters were already waiting for us, but the cups were spotty and dirty. After roughly 15 minutes finally someone approached us, but to let us know they couldn't split our check. We didn't even say anything about splitting the check. They didn't say hello, or take our drink order, they just said they wouldn't be splitting the check and left. After 10 more minutes of just sitting there without someone greeting us like customers and taking our drink orders we decided to leave. There were other neglected tables acknowledging the poor service as we left. We went to a different restaurant at Westgate and mentioned the poor service at Sugar Factory and they said, yes, they've heard several complaints about the poor service there. So basically don't go to Sugar Factory because the service is bizarrely bad. read more

Our experience at this location was interesting. There was no host that day, so we waited an extended amount of time to be sat despite having reservations. This was also one of the longest times I've ever had to wait on someone to come to our table and offer water while we waited. I don't blame any of the servers, though. Our server was Joseph and he was amazing! Joseph was very kind and patient, and I saw him doing everything he could to make sure all his tables had what they needed despite how hectic the day seemed with low staff and no support on the floor from leadership. The food was good, the restaurant has a pretty aesthetic, and the location is great inside of Westgate: however, I am disappointed that it seemed like the servers were running the floor all by themselves on a Monday holiday when many people go out to eat and shop in that area. Oh no! oh no! oh no, no, no, no, no! I wish the food and service matched the ambiance of this establishment! We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were given a list of "No's"...the first no was "no coffee" and the list got bigger and bigger and everything continued to slowly, but consistently slide downhill from there. No lobster, no fish, no mayonnaise, no hot sauce ($2 up charge for buffalo wing sauce), no jelly (in a restaurant that focuses on sweets and sugary delicacies). We discovered the lack of jelly when the toast arrived at the table dry as a bone, without even a pat of butter, they offered a $2 up-charge to bring us a sweet topping for the toast. The "No's" didn't stop there, my friend asked them to hold the turkey on the club sandwich, and was told NO substitutions...however, when my club arrived there was no turkey. When we questioned the lack of turkey, we were told they were out of turkey. At this point we asked to speak to a manager, because we could not get a paper receipt and were told they could not give us exact change if we paid with cash! Our order was quite simple, buffalo ranch fries,, a ribeye, steak, cooked, medium, and the brick chicken with the sauce and onion straws on the side. After waiting for 40 minutes for our food while the restaurant was empty at 9:30 on a Tuesday night, our server brought the chicken and mashed potatoes first, it was followed up with the steak and potatoes. Then our server went and served a different table their meal and she came back 10 minutes later and I asked her if my wife was going to get her buffalo fries and she said yeah and walked away. About five minutes later she came back with them and we also asked her about the sauce for my daughters chicken and the onion straws came back with the sauce and that was it Frustrated I asked to speak to a manager who came out and let me know he was the assistant manager and I showed him the steak that was cooked well done and looked like shoe that you charge $45 for and asked if it's customary to serve multiple tables at the same time before one is been served their complete meal and why would it take 20 minutes to serve us our meals from , being three items off the menu he didn't have an answer and said he would give me a discount to my meals or to make sure that we were happy The nut net is the meal was horrible. I had the pasta with shrimp that I could've made at home for a small fraction of the cost, but it's the "experience" right? At first glance the place looks awesome...then you look over at a group of screens and only a few actually work. Go to the restroom and it smells like the rest of the restaurant looks with only half the toilets functional and rest in garbage bags. They also told us the restaurant was full. Looking around only 3 families were in and just two people at the bar. They leave the doors open so you're sweating while you eat $20-$150 meals. The service, ok. We've had the Sugar Factory on our list for quite a while, and this week we made it happen. My niece was in town visiting so I decided to take her for a fun girls day out. To my surprise we walked in to an empty place. Besides a few people at the bar it was empty. The location is beautiful. From the chandeliers to the seating I didn't know where to look first. I loved they there were also so many instagram worthy photo spots inside. I see it being a lot harder when busy, but the cute swing near the entrance and the walls with quotes made my nieces day. She's only 10 so we decided to share a drink because they are massive and expensive. There is no way we could each drink one alone. Thank goodness I made that decision because we barely could finish it lol. We both also decided on the club sandwich; hers with onion rings and mine fries. Our server while friendly seemed a bit bored and wasn't as present as she could've been considering it was so empty. Our food came out pretty quick and looked great. The fries were crispy. The portions are pretty huge. While I was able to finish most of mine she could not so keep that in mind if taking someone younger. All in all I'd come again. The drink was tasty and the experience was fun. It was very cool to watch the drink smoke and bubble when poured. My niece was mesmerized. We had a SWEET time this was so much fun! I only took a star off as the food is still needing work but it's not open all the way either. They are working to get all areas up and running. To be the pre grand opening they started off awesome!!! The staff are kind and super helpful. The drinks are not just sweet they are well made and flavorful. This place is all smoke and mirrors. Perfect if you are just looking for an instagram background or photo but the menu is too big and I have no idea what they are trying to be food-wise. Our group ordered the sampler app, rainbow sliders, big cheese burger, chicken strip app, carne asada tacos and fish tacos. Most of it was okay, nothing was better than mediocre and some was just not good (rainbow sliders). For desert, we tried the cheesecake, banana split and rainbow hot chocolate and this was the highlight of the meal. I've been waiting for months for this place to open. Ok since May. I was so excited when my reservation was finally confirmed for our brunch outing today. I realize it was a soft opening so I wasn't too disappointed that some of the drinks we wanted to try or the churro items we wanted weren't available. We just picked something else. The menu is huge! Now on to the food and drinks. I ordered the Hot Cheetos Burger and the spicy pineapple margarita. I loved both of them. The drinks are a little pricey but they are really good. We also got a mango margarita, and nonalcoholic drink. Both also really good. Other food items included the Banana Foster French Toast, Monte Cristo and Banana Split Waffle. Everyone liked their meals. This place is great for special events including birthdays, brunches, first dates, etc. There are lots of photo ops and they even have a Pink Room for bigger events. Dissapointment. Met some of my wife's co-workers last night. Place was relatively busy, but nothing overwhelming. Went to the bar, and unless you are into something very fruitful or sugary, there are not a lot of options. No big deal, I did expect that considering the name. $17 later, I got a whiskey on the rocks and sat at our table. Service was slow. Our waitress was nice for sure but a little slow on the ordering. It took like 15-20 mins to get chips and salsa. We ended up not ordering food knowing the wait would be long. Had chips and salsa along with the Buffalo chicken fries. Chips and salsa were actually surprisingly good. The Buffalo chicken fries tasted the same as Buffalo spots. Food is a bit overpriced. It was confusing to know who worked there. Waiters had 1 uniform, then there were people in dresses, some in jeans, one guy looked like he came straight from the skate park and just had regular clothes on. It was so random. Hardly anyone had name tags, so you couldn't tell. As you can see from the pics, my seat looked into their backroom and I think a manager office. I could see them having convos and eating at times. I just feel like a relatively pricey restaurant should not let you see behind the doors, in this case, the non-existent doors. At one point, a food runner was running and chasing a server out and looked to be trying to grab her butt. What a weird place. We won't be back, not worth the money. Ok so let me preface this by saying this spot just opened in Glendale in the Westgate area...I think it's been open maybe a month so here are my thoughts. Just about everything needs work! My party and I visited on late Saturday night (10pm) after a show downtown. It was still super lively and pretty crowded. I did make a reservation on the way over just to ensure we could get in and I would recommend making a reservation because I can see this place becoming harder to get in IF they make the improvements I and probably many others are suggesting. So pros: - Checked in right away with friendly hostesses (they did ask if 8 had a reservation) - Very nice aesthetic, bright lights, lots of selfie opportunities - Friendly server - Huge made for 2 tasty alcoholic AND nonalcoholic versions drinks -Extensive menu with just about anything you can think of to include a brunch options -The choreographed dancing servers were really getting in! I really enjoyed this part A-LOT Now the Cons- Petty observations -but there were a number of un-bussed tables right in the front of the restaurant when you walk in - There is already a light out on one of the would be great selfie opportunity walls Problematic Observations- our server was super friendly but she immediately let me know they were out of 70% of the goblet alcohol drinks listed in the menuhuh? She was so serious There was only like 6 drinks available. I am not sure how this happened but not good. -Super SLOW getting drinks out to include water. I am going to say 40ish minutes...I mean we ordered food and it came out within 15-20 minutes and this is what the table ordered: Cheeseburger and Onion Rings, 2 orders of Chicken and Waffles(1 of them spicy chicken) loaded cheeseburger fries, 1 regular margarita, 3 goblet sized margaritas , 2 Strawberry a Peach Fuzz one. Cheeseburger and onion rings were given a thumbs up, the chicken was dry ...overcooked, cheeseburger fries not me ... reminded me of a Big Mac so if you like that then try it. We sent the fries back and ordered the regular loaded fries which were great! Drinks were good but took FoREVER to get them and maybe not as much alcohol as you would think ..more juice . They definitely push the huge sundae dessert which triggers the choreographed dances. It's huge!! I didn't even ask about it but was told the half size is $65 and they will do the dance...kinda felt like I being told about a lap dance at the strip club We declined, maybe another time. My husband and I individual bill was $78( loaded fries and goblet sized strawberry margarita) Lastly there is 17% service charge applies to ALL tickets regardless of party size ...it does actually say this if you look at their website but wow. Several weeks ago, I bought a Groupon for Sugar Factory in Glendale, AZ. we had never been there before, but the website made it look really fun, colorful and tasty. saved the Groupon for a special occasion, and used it tonight. the food was incredibly overprice, and my husband and daughter thought their dinners were "just OK"--although I really enjoyed my chicken and waffles! When the check came, we presented the Groupon and were told that they couldn't honor it. Um...what??? we were at the correct location and the Groupon had not expired. The reason we were given was that the manager who set up the Groupon was no longer with the company, and the new management didn't authorize the Groupon. so, we ended up paying nearly $150 for mediocre food and a poor customer service experience. needless to say...we won't go back and do not recommend. read more

We went a little fancy & had Insta-funfor two of our Littles birthdays! Kids absolutely loved it especially the big candy filled drinks & deliciously generous ice cream scoops! It's so pretty in pink and great for special occasions with the fam... and especially the girls. Bachelorette party? MmHmm! Girls Day? OH yes! Birthdays & Graduations? Yep! It's also right in the heart of Westgate so after a big meal, it's fun to walk around and explore what else is around! We ordered a few drinks and some wings & a bowl of spaghetti! A photographer was walking around taking pictures. Turns out the pictures that were way too bright were $25.00 each. A selling point is that they come in a real glass frame. Dollar Tree sells real glass frames just like theirs. To have a 30 second happy birthday dance from the staff was $35.00. A restaurant fee was included on the bill. This place is a money grab. First let me start with, it was my granddaughters birthday. she wanted to come here as when we checked out the restaurant, the gentleman told us about the colorful burgers and all the speciality drinks. He said that they would make her birthday very special. So, we made reservations and took her. First thing, they did not have the air on. Next we went To order our dinner and the 2 things that my granddaughter wanted, the colorful burgers and the smoking lemonade, were unavailable As they were out of the Ingredients. She was so disappointed, as was I. My daughter tried ordering items and finally on her third try they had something for her to order. Overall, the food we did get was mediocre at best. Those with allergies beware! Apparently this place does not understand gluten free. I ordered the Caesar chic salad NO croutons and told the waitress I was gluten free and they brought it out with a piece of bread on top. At this point we were pretty disgusted with this place, but had her birthday song and dance to look forward to. Well, nope that didn't happen either. Second time in, probably my last. Had a reservation for a party of 12 last night at 6:30 for my nephews birthday/graduation. Making the reservation is a whole other story, good luck. No one answers the phone, ever. I submitted an online request for a reservation and I am still waiting for that response. We were seated promptly (only 2 other tables in the restaurant). However, we had to ask for another table to be added in order to be comfortable -- there wasn't enough chair space otherwise. Our server was pretty attentive, I wish I remembered her name, it sounds something like Amalfia? She promptly informed us that there were only 12 burgers left in the restaurant and other tables were ordering so if we wanted a burger we better get on it. This is where it went downhill, we saw 1 entree come out relatively fast and thought, "wow, that's awesome".Well after that they shortly trickled out every 10-20 minutes. 12 dinners, one by one. By the time the last person received their food, everyone else was finished. I absolutely HATE that. What's the point of going out to eat with a party? I would maybe give some grace if the restaurant was slammed, however at this point we were the only table eating. Our server did acknowledge the fact that the food took way too long so she brought out some drinks for the table on the house, which was nice of her. We ordered the half-size mega sundae (I can't remember the name). That was the highlight. The kids loved the show they provide with it. I don't recall seeing anywhere on the menu about gratuity already being included. Our server split up the checks with those handheld terminals and told one end of the table that gratuity was already included. I paid cash and never received that message so essentially I double tipped. Shame on me for not realizing the amount on the little tiny screen seemed higher than it should have been. I just wanted to get out of there. Learn from my mistake. They also add a charge for using a credit card. The entire restaurant can use a deep cleaning, I left there feeling so hot and filthy. The vibe is great which distracts from their imperfections. The sampler platter is likely good for kids. The onion rings were good. The wings were ok. The chicken tenders were bland. The macaroni popper was weird and its supposed to be famous (I dont know about that). I ordered the steak stir fry. It was too much soy sauce which made it soooooo salty. One of my kids ordered the Brooklyn loaded fries. She thought it was good ........but salty. My other kid ordered the shrimp penne and said it was good but the proportion was a little small (I agree) This restaurant knows how to salt their food even though there are a million other seasonings out there that would take their cuisine to a reasonable level. The server was great, but would take so long to get check on us in case we wanted to order more drinks. Summary: I would not recommend this place, the food was bad and expensive. Right off the bat, I am giving this 1 star based on customer service alone as we never got to eat here. Food, unknown. Ambiance, unknown. Service... Went on a Tuesday and they said there was a wait. Ok, we will wait. Thirty minutes later, we will be closed by the time you would be able to get in so please come back some other time. Went on a Thursday, May 23. We have an online reservation at 9:15. They are open until 11. We went to check in at 9 o'clock, and the doors are all locked. There are people inside. And they come out and tell us it is a private party. We say OK, but we assume that you must be open at 9:15 so we go and sit. Five minutes later they cancel our electronic reservation with no information, apology or notification. We saw lots of other people walk up open the doors look at their watches and say they have reservations. Nobody even came to the door to explain. Just kept on doing their jobs inside, but clearly not well as all the tables had food all over them used plates and the entire location looked dirty. So sugar factory. Get your stuff figured out and maybe people will come to your restaurant. Otherwise, you can expect the same feet as the other restaurants that have attempted to be in that location. read more

What a disappointment! I was shocked that people would spend money and choose this place for events. My wife and I visited for a simple dessert, but when we arrived, no one was at the host station. We stood there for about five minutes, almost ready to leave, before someone finally greeted us and showed us to a table. Unfortunately, the table wasn't clean. The base, which was supposed to be white, had visible marks. It looked like streaks, as if a drink had been spilled and left to dry. Looking around, I noticed several other tables in similar condition--unacceptable. Who is responsible for maintaining quality and cleanliness here? I decided to overlook this, thinking it might have been a busy day. However, that's not really an excuse for such poor standards. We started with a simple order: two waters and a chocolate fondue. The waitress seemed friendly and said she'd be right back, but five minutes passed before she hurried by our table, saying she was getting the waters. She didn't even slow down to face us, speaking as she walked away with her back turned. By the time she finished her sentence, she was already several feet away. Not the best impression for a place that seems to be trying to stand out. It took about ten minutes to get the waters (and the place wasn't busy). Our table had a view of the dessert preparation area, where a staff member was working. However, instead of focusing on the orders, he was on his phone, chatting with another employee, and slowly chopping ingredients. He was not stressed, nice slow pace. It took him at least 30 minutes to prepare the dessert, which consisted of just a banana, a small cheesecake, and a red velvet cake and the chocolate. When the fondue finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The chocolate was lukewarm at best, heated by a tiny tea light that barely provided any warmth. I even checked by placing my hand near the flame, and there was hardly any heat. Who uses a tea light for fondue? We ate the dessert without complaining, trying to enjoy the atmosphere, but the service didn't improve. The waitress never returned to check on us until we were done and ready to leave. I was absolutely amazed at this restaurant from beginning to end. It was a wonderful surprise to find this tucked away back in Westgate in Glendale. now, my understanding is they only have certain locations in large urban areas such as Chicago, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles. At first, when we were walking across the fountain plaza, we saw the name on the building and thought that it was just a large candy shop or gift shop but when we walked through the doors, we looked in and saw one of the most beautifully decorated and elegant restaurants. I should say to be more precise. It was decorated with an atmosphere to be fun and at the same time elegant wasn't at all like your five star restaurants, dark candlelit with oak or cherry wood finish and stuffy, upscale attitude atmosphere now this place was very eloquent but fun , and just an overall comfortable feel from beginning to end. So when we first sat down, we opened up the menu and immediately saw cheesecake factory with his mini selections. As there were the menu was literally covered from page to page with different specialty type items that I have not seen featured in any other restaurant I've ever been to . For example, the hot Cheetos gourmet hamburger that my daughter ordered or these super crazy smoked bacon and cheese burger that I ordered that featured molten cheese released at the last minute at the table side on top of the hamburger and although all of that sounds overwhelming and maybe even unhealthy it was absolutely executed perfectly and delicious. I am extremely surprised to see the low rating on this particular restaurant here on yelp, I cannot for the life of me think of a better place to go. It is a bit pricey, but the portion sizes, food, quality atmosphere and service. All indicate it is very worth your pocketbook and time to sit this place out . Our server who's name is Jordan was absolutely a delight. She did not rush. She stayed tableside constantly to speak to us and even have entertaining conversation with, but didn't over stay too long to make it weird to work strange. She was very attentive, kept my tea glass full and kept everybody at the table supplied with everything that they could need while still attending to her other tables And maintaining a wonderful smile and attitude the entire time Enclosing all I can say about this location is it will become a new special event for family and special date night out with my wife after having discovered it by accident with my mother and my daughter for a family day out it was a wonderful addition and unexpected adventure for us to have stop by the sugar factory. The food was really good but the overall experience was over priced. Charged us a restaurant fee? WTH... music is very loud so cool if you are clubbing but not good for a family dinner. Happy Mother's Day everyone! So I just want to start by saying that I was really looking forward to experiencing Sugar Factory for the first time! The menu looks great and love the aesthetic of the restaurant! The siblings and I agreed to take our mother for Mother's Day brunch. I did attempt to make a reservation the day before but couldn't due to it being booked! Perfectly understandable due to it being a holiday so we decided just to take our chances and do a walk in. When we arrived today, I attempted to get us a table but was informed that they only took reservations and were fully booked. I thanked them and we made our way out to find another restaurant. While leaving my sister managed to book a reservation at Sugar Factory outside seating for 11 am through the website. Perfect, no problems! We arrived at 11 am to get seated. Sugar Factory employees Alaze and Maria were the ones to greet us at the entrance. My sister went ahead to report our reservation but was told that she was not on the list. My sister showed them the confirmation number for our reservation and was told that it was invalid due to it not being reserved 24 hours in advance. If that was the case, why did their website not mention this and allow us to confirm seating? If there really is some policy for 24 hour confirmation, the company should make sure all tech is aligned with their guidelines. Luckily, my sister caught a glimpse of the tablet they used and she saw her name on the list. She pointed it out to the ladies. At this point I could tell they were being irate and passive aggressive although we were kind and understanding. It's Mother's Day, who wants drama today?! Speaking to each other, Maria told Alaze that she needed to find a server for us. My mother caught Alaze rolling her eyes as she seated us lacking any friendly service. As we finally got seated, we determined that the vibe was off and even thought we wanted to try Sugar Factory we left. My mother and sister ended up talking to the Manager about the incident. He apologized and stated that everyone was stressed out due to the "high volume" of people even thought it was not busy like the surrounding restaurant. It was also not a good excuse to justify the rudeness and difficulties we experienced. Not sure if any coaching will happen but just wanted to add this review so that any new potential customers is aware. I hope they work on improving their customer service and reservation protocols so that new guest can have a better experience. The Sugar Factory is probably the worst restaurant I have ever been to for a birthday celebration. Our waitress was so inattentive we had to ask other workers to find her and we honestly could not say what she looked like. The food was gross. We spent over $400 for 8 people and that is crazy for the quality. The quesadilla had an after taste, I only ate one triangle. The disappearing waitress did not ask why? The big cheesy burger had to go back because they forgot the Mac n cheese which is the highlight of the burger. Everything came out cold, even the butter for the lobster tail, and the expensive Hot cocoa. Not so hot. My mother in law ordered a bottle water and it took over an hour for it to come out. And not by the waitress. One of the cooks leaving for the night stopped and dropped it off. I am sorry we did not order the cool drinks or the 24k foods, but our money counts too. I agree with many reviewers that it is cool in concept and fun for pics for the gram. But other than that I would stay away. A big waste of money. The one sign even had lights out. The floors were filthy and dirty forks under our table. We used one to wedge under the wobbly table. A big disappointment. read more

As a server I understand how it is to deal with customers and a fast paced environment but the customer experience from this restaurant is absolutely terrible and disrespectful. Not only was the food completely disgusting and flavorless but the hospitality from the servers was just as bad. They didn't care to acknowledge us and made us feel like such an inconvenience. Went there on Monday (drove from scottsdale just to come here) and they were closed with no warning. No sign on the door and nothing but some sort of bundle of wire holding the door shut. (There was a giant gap, we could see inside the entire restaurant. Everything was set up but there wasn't a soul in sight) we hung out in the area afterwards and what we gathered from asking around, they didn't pay their staff (when they do have staff) and the management there was always extremely poor and not up to what I'd say the "Vegas standard" this place claims to bring.
