My technician, Taylor, openly admitted she had to practice on herself when she saw an eyelash lift on her schedule--something no paying customer should hear. She didn't provide any aftercare instructions, and when I asked how long the results would last, her vague response was "it just depends how much oil-based products you use," which offered no real guidance. I don't use any, so this answer was especially frustrating. When the appointment was over, I truly couldn't tell what she did to my eyelashes as there was no difference from when I walked in to the end of my appointment. Not to mention, I had glue left all over my eyelids and tint dye smeared around my lash line and face, pictures attached. My brows still had wax residue, and sugar was matted into my hair. When I sat up, my hair was literally stuck to the table. I regret paying for these services and would not recommend this location to anyone for the services I received. The lack of professionalism and basic technique was shocking.

My esthetician was so rough that she left me bruised (I've been sugared many times and never bruise), admitted the bikini area "makes her nervous," and even left used sugar stuck in my eyebrow, on my shirt, and all over my legs. I submitted feedback through their internal review system, and they told me the esthetician was fired because of my appointment. I was promised a partial refund (even though the service deserved a full one), and nearly a month later I'm still waiting--despite calling four times to follow up. Each time I've been met with excuses and zero urgency to make things right. To make matters worse, one staff member told me they had never received complaints about this esthetician, while another admitted there had been many. Looking at other reviews on Yelp, it's clear my experience wasn't an isolated incident. I literally never write reviews but this business has shown me the worst customer service I've ever encountered, and I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their time or money here.

She takes her time to makes sure all the hair is gone as quickly and as pain free as possible. Was it pain free? No! Parts of it was painful, but not as painful as I thought it would be. The sugar felt rather nice and really exfoliating on the skin. I also did the underarms, and I must say my armpits have never been this smooth! I will never shave my underarms again. The underarms were virtually pain free. I loved the Brazilian!! Its so clean and comfortable. If you have never had one, i highly recommend you at least try it once, and go with the sugar vs wax. It's cleaner, environmentally friendly, and chemical free. I am really happy with the results and have already scheduled my follow up visit!

She had me get undressed and I had nothing to cover myself for when she returned. I know she's going to see it, but the hallway doesn't have to! So she begins the prepping, sprays my crotch directly like she's washing a window, and dries me with paper towels, or sand paper? It felt the same. Next a pile of scented baby powder, great. I asked if it had talc because that's a big no no on my crotch. She had no idea, checked the bottle, no talc, but then asked what talc was. ‍ After every time she touched something she Didn't sanitize, she just seemed to change gloves or add a new one? It was odd, but whatever works I guess. Finally it came to the actual sugaring. She MICROWAVES the whole jar right next to me, several times, checking by tapping the inside of the jar to see if it's ready. The other place I have gone before, and will only go now, uses special warmers because sugar wax is basically food and will cook in a microwave. My esthetician let me know this was how ALL of the Sugaring NYC's do it that way. A national chain can't afford the proper equipment? No, they're just cheap and greedy. So the the hair removal starts, this was way extremely painful not at all like I'm used to. I had to stop her so I wouldn't be bruised. She did discount me since we didn't do the full service and I tipped her the same because it isn't her fault, it's the company who didn't give her the tools or training.

I think Hello Sugar has really good pricing but recently I haven't been feeling like they care for me or even the people they hire... I was with one aesthetician for a year or so and we got really close and I just love coming to your ass because I meant updating her all my life choices and just having a friend to talk to and she had to up and leave which really sucked and it made finding a new station at that location super hard and ultimately I just never recovered from her leaving which sucks cause I like Hello Sugar and I liked how convenient it was. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not happy with the outcome because I ended up finding someone so much better and so much closer to home with great care and it's her own personal business so it's not like she's gonna be leaving me anytime soon.
