Summer is an amazing person and knowledgeable esthetician. I had found her company through another website that offered deals for her services and booked with her a brazilian sugaring session through her website's booking process. It was very easy to manage and I was able to book an appointment very quickly. However, on the day of my appointment I had realized that I booked too late in the evening and would have an hour in between doing nothing. I went ahead and texted the number she provided and she was kind enough to make my appointment an hour earlier! I'm not sure if she can do that every time but thankfully it seemed like there wasn't anyone booked before me so it worked out. The way to find her was slightly confusing but her instructions on how to find the location was easy enough for me to find it right away. Meeting Summer in person was the best part! She helped me feel very comfortable despite meeting her for the first time and pretty much talked to me throughout the entire process. I am usually awkward with holding conversations myself but I told her that her talking made me feel like time was going by much faster. She also gave me a lot of tips on taking care of myself such as using a dry brush three times a week along with other tips from our conversation. Summer does the best spray tan ever ever had. And I've had a LOT! She is so thorough, picks the best color for you and it looks so natural. It even fades incredibly! When I began my sugaring journey, I tried out five to six different places before I found myself consistently going to Summer. She is precise but takes her time - I never feel rushed out of the chair but I never leave feeling like she's missed a spot. She keeps great conversation and keeps my mind off the pain. Whelp, "Dare to go bare" finally means no hair!!! I found Sugar + Sand on Groupon while looking for chica-grooming deals! The Groupon reviews all mentioned that Summer was very sweet and made them feel comfortable. I wasn't sure about contacting her because I didn't see any Yelp reviews, but I took the chance and messaged her. First points went to how quickly she replied to my text message, I messaged her at 5PM Friday afternoon, she replied at 5:04!!! I know that four minutes is not realistic depending on whether the business owner is with a client etc., but I have had experiences where the business waited so long to reply to me that I had zero recollection of them! Anywho, her responses were all very professional, complete sentences, no "K" responses or "???". When I arrived for my appointment, I called her because I was having trouble locating her shop, I was in the front and need to make my way to the side where the Chapel is located. I felt comfortable with her right away, she was so warm and guided me to the right area. There's a set of stairs across from the Chapel, take those stairs and you will find your self at Sola Salon Studios, Summer met me at the door! Her suite is 100% private and super clean, the temperature was perfect! Uggh, I hate when I go to these places and they feel like an introduction to the Arctic! How am I supposed to relax if I'm shivering?! The "bed-of-dread" was ready with cover-up towels (Brazilian and Underarm) and wipes. I don't remember any spa music, but that's not a need for me. She started by instructing me on how to position myself for the underarm sugaring, she applied powder and got to work. We talked the whole time as if we were not strangers meeting for the first time! And just like that she was done. Now here is where my underarm sugaring experience with Summer stands out from any other that I've had, after sugaring and tweezing the rebellious pit-hairs and warm cloth wipe-off, she provided an emollient after-care. There were two choices, I chose the Lavender/ Tea Tree. Summer mentioned that you don't want to put deodorant on your underarm directly after sugaring as that can lead to discoloration and of course, irritation. The Lavender/ Tea Tree would allow for natural deodorizing properties without the heaviness of antiperspirants. Just for reference, my appointment was at 12 noon today, its now 11PM and this girl does not stink soooo whatever she put on me actually worked! Whew....I've typed so much and haven't even gotten to the Brazilian! Okay, real quick, I let Summer know that I'm super sensitive and pointed out my removal-resistant areas. She walked me through breathing when she got to those spots, I also like that she changed her sugar ball during the session. I hadn't been sugared since February, pre-Covid shutdown, so I was nervous knowing that I had lost any pain tolerance I'd previously gained from regular maintenance. Summer uses the kind of technique that you will not experience at one of those franchise-like spots, I used to frequent, with multiple ladies on the payroll. Her attention to detail resulted in the smoothest Brazilian sugaring after-math that I have ever had! Summer even applied a soothing mask, after she tweezed, to help prevent in-grown hairs because my hair is so curly. You know how vendors will treat you different when you use Groupon discounts? I can honestly say, not once did Summer make me feel like a small valueless customer. Even better that I wasn't waddling to my car with legs positioned like I'm about to do sumo squats!!! I took a panoramic photo while I was there but unfortunately, its not compatible for upload. I also asked Summer to take a photo of my underarm buuuuuut, decided to spare myself potential regrets in the near future, hopefully my review is enough to "paint the picture" of my experience and results! :) read more

I came in today for a Brazilian sugaring with a soothing mask after. Summer was literally the sweetest person I've met! She had everything out and ready to go. Everything was cleaned before I went into the room. Parking/finding the entrance was pretty easy, but might be tricky so give yourself an extra 5 minutes. There was plenty of parking. The experience was way less painful than I've experienced before! She also took the time to tweeze away pesky hairs. Usually I can feel how enflamed and irritated my skin is after, but with the treatments there was very minimal! I'm definitely returning.
