They have the cutest trucks, friendliest drivers and best selection of ice cream! They drive around neighborhoods and do events too!

Loved it! We stopped here on our road trip to Vancouver. It is bang in the middle of the Blaine…read moreDowntown main street with amazing views of the marina all along. The cafe is a replica of a railway caboose and the kids could relate to the dining car experience. The covered patio is great to sit and munch on food, but on a sunny day, I would however recommend just ordering take out and sitting on the picnic tables right beside the cafe on a sunny day. We ordered a few beverages (Chai Latte, Americano & Maharaja Express) and snack items (ham sandwich & scone) - and everything was reasonably priced and served quickly. The scone was really good though, like better than many of the scones around. We imagined this being a quick coffee stop on the way but ending up spending a good 30mins soaking the views. The pit stop was worth every minute!

This was my second visit to the Railway Café in Blaine, and I'm already excited to come back again…read more This place is adorable, super cute, eclectic, and filled with hilarious signs everywhere you look. And yes, it really is inside a bright red caboose! The whole space is cozy in the best way, with a little seating indoors and a bit more outside, perfect for soaking in the quirky charm. The menu is huge and everything on it seems to call your name, breakfast all day, tons of sandwiches, muffins, smoothies... seriously, so much to love here. On this visit we had the falafel and the Reuben, and both were delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Between the unique setting and the great food, this spot is such a fun little surprise. Definitely worth a visit (or two... or three!).

It was huge (16oz) , full of apple pie chunks and very delicious indeed. They also have patio seats to let you eat your ice cream while looking at the beach. However, be careful when the soft serve melts...

Maya's at White Rock Beach is my go-to for gelato when I come down here in the summer…read more The ice-cream is popular here as well judging by the foot traffic & big smiles on people's faces after each lick. I find it a convenient spot for my cool down treat as it's on the strip right close to the foot of White Rock Pier, Canada's longest. Ask for samples first before you settle on a flavour or two. My favourite for gelato right now is still Bella Gelateria, in Vancouver. Maya's selection of gelato is limited, but 100% worth it especially when it's 35°C / 95F outside. There's plenty of restaurants nearby as well with several fish & chip spots & burger joints. Parking is a challenge along the entire strip, but if you're patient, unlike me, you'll find a spot so worry not. Keep in mind that the strip which runs along the beach, draws heavy traffic.
