So many great candies from my youth including White Rabbits, coconut candy, haw flakes, preserved plums. It was awesome. Plus there's all your regular favorite candies to choose from. I would definitely recommend and absolutely come back.

New candy/dried goods shop in Chinatown! They have a bunch of different candy, gummies, dried plums, chips, and other Asian snacks. I was pretty sad when aji ichiban closed but this is the new snacks/dried goods spot. The prices are pretty steep for some of the chips but they have very unique ones! They even have the chocolate tapioca candy that I've seen on social media! They have ginger candy, dried plums, prunes, and fish snacks. No samples as far as I know but you can fill out the bag yourself and they will weigh it.

I've been looking for this black sugar ginger snack for a few months after a friend had me try some from China. I had asked if they sell black sugar ginger at the store since Feb. They had 7 other flavors of ginger instead. It's now the end of May and they finally have it. Prices are a bit steep but finding another store like this after the pandemic is hard. Most stores closed permanently--even Aji Ichiban closed on Mott St. Bought a little over a pound and it cost $14+. But I'm enjoying snacking on it after hunting it down for nearly a year. The website printed on the bag does not work. Someone needs to work on that.

A fun, quick stop while in NYC's Chinatown district. Come here to find fun flavors of KitKats, chips, dried fruits, and more! The store was clean and nicely arranged. I walked away with a few goodies that I'm excited to try!

Entrance. Too early - not yet open.

I came here for the dried and preserved plums. They had a good selection of different flavors. They were willing to mix and match. I got 1 lbs mixed from different bins and 1 1/2. Lb pre-packaged one. The price was good comparing to the prepackaged ones in the Chinese supermarkets. The dried plums were very large and those were good. It might be because of the low turnover, they didn't taste fresh. Don't get me wrong, the products were NOT bad but I expected better from thus type of specialty stores. I would recommend this place but set your expectations accordingly.

    Assortment of sour jelly candies

My mom got me some candy for my birthday and I had to stop by again! So fresh, definitely different from getting candies at the supermarket They have non sour candy but I got all sour candy this time got a decent assortment for $2.50 - sour jelly hearts, cola jellies, gummy bears, jelly octopi, sour strips - unpictured the peach jelly and peach rings - smelled so fragrant and tasted so good we ate them right away!

I love the selection of chips and Kit Kats. The only thing that I would change is the prices of the chips are quite steep!

My go-to place for sour plum, now that ají ichiban is closed worldwide! Lots of variety for sweet and sour items.

This was a very brief visit, after dinner out,…read moreand based on the very nice service this evening, I want to return very soon, so that I can really enjoy looking around the store. There is a lot to see, and I did not have the time due to my own schedule. The man who helped us was so very nice and kind. I believe he said he is usually at their Brooklyn shop, but he was helping out in this west side of Manhattan shop. He explained about the MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION colorful, rainbow, STAR-SHAPED LOLLIPOPS near the cashier pay area. Please SEE MY PHOTOS. IT'S SUGAR has raised more than $1 MILLION DOLLARS for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, thanks to the people who bought the special lollipops; AND their goal is to raise $2 Million dollars for The Make-a-Wish Foundation. So, if you are near the store, please stop in. Buy a MAKE-A-WISH lollipop. Look around. Enjoy the candy sights you see, and make a purchase. They have Totsie Roll Pops, too!! And so much more, I have to visit again...soon! :) FOR VISITORS TO NYC--you will be near this store if you are in the Columbus Circle area, and the Lincoln Center area. And, it's a nice walk from the theatre district and the Fifth Avenue area, too. NYC is a great WALKING CITY, so, if you are heading out for the day, wear comfortable walking/running shoes, so that you can walk over and visit this shop. And, Thank You to the man from Brooklyn working at the store. Your great customer service made the visit a pleasure!

It's a heat wave and my daughter is at her college orientation. While we wait for her we've been finding creative ways to stay cool. Before heading into the shops at Columbus we headed into its sugar because we're with my 10m old and he likes looking at the lights and bright colors. I picked up a mug called "wake and bake" and asked my husband does it work and how. I then put it down. When exiting an employee in a purple shirt was kind of blocking the door. I thought that was odd but people are weird. She even almost bumped into someone trying to walk in. She then accuses me of stealing the mug. I was confused and said I put it down and continued on my way, but I'm annoyed that a company that I frequented often with my older kids would accuse me of stealing. If you were watching so closely you should have done a better job and watched me place it back down. How outrageously inappropriate it was to try and smile and play with my 10 month old while you were moments away from accusing his mother. As much as my older kids like It's Sugar I'm going to be thinking twice before purchasing anything there ever again. Maybe it's for the best and I should be supporting local businesses. I'm honestly stuck on the fact that they thought a mother pushing her infant child was attempting to steal something so wildly inappropriate.

But instead, there I was--standing in front of their glorious gelato counter, eyes wide, heart full, and indecisive as ever. Let's start with the moment: my first bite of their olive oil gelato. I don't say this lightly--it was transcendental. Like, "is this what Botticelli tasted when painting Venus?" kind of moment. That velvety olive oil richness hits you up front with confidence and elegance, like a well-dressed Italian man offering you espresso and secrets. Sure, the intensity mellows out as you keep eating, but it never disappears--it just evolves. A plot twist in every spoonful. Now, let's talk about the cone. This wasn't your average sad, soggy cone. Oh no. This one had chocolate bits woven into it like a love letter to cacao itself. It was the best "cone upgrade" I've ever had. Crunchy, chocolatey, luxurious--it deserves its own certificate of excellence, frankly. And the staff? Patient, kind, and blessed with the empathy required to deal with someone (me) who treats flavor selection like high-stakes diplomacy. I felt seen. And then--oh, the pièce de résistance--a little chocolate coin placed lovingly atop my scoop like a crown. It made me feel like gelato royalty. A duchess of dessert, if you will. They also have this gorgeous outdoor patio space, which I longed to sit in like a wistful character in an indie romance. Alas, I couldn't stay, but next time? I'll claim that spot with the same passion I bring to gelato tasting. In conclusion: Venchi is elegance dipped in chocolate, sprinkled with patience, and served with a golden coin. I'll be back--possibly wearing a cape.
