Strawberry Green Tea Two Cheese Tarts
    Ximena L.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute location/decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very small, like most dessert places in this area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The strawberry green tea was great, not too sweet and didn't taste super artificial. The pastries were both really good and well thought out. I love the strawberry jam at the bottom of the strawberry milkshake tart.

Delicious Japanese cheese tarts. 2 for $6, I opted for ube and matcha to try my first time. Loved the ube one as it really allowed the cheesy flavor of the tart to shine through, whereas the matcha overpowered it a bit more. Both were super tasty, the crust of this tart is light, sweet, and sugar cookie-esque, I absolutely loved it. Can't wait to come back and try their other flavors, as well as their basque cheesecake!

very nice & light pastry dessert, the filling was perfect and wasn't heavy at all. Fairly priced at $5 each and they had a nice selection of Asian flavors (ube, black sesame, matcha, etc)

AMAZING! This is a must stop spot. It was delicious and not too sweet. The filling was puffy while the crust had an amazing crunch to it. Really tasty!l and some how fresh? Tasting at the same time

Picked these up for a party and they were a total hit! Definitely a little pricey but I got 2 extra tarts when I ordered 10 for a little under $40 so I think it was worth it. They have a lot of different flavors and I think they each tasted very distinct but tasty in its own way. My favorites were black sesame and the ube. The filling wasn't overly rich like typical cheesecake and the texture was soft and fluffy.

Absolutely loved these cheese tarts! The filling is so creamy and soft while the pastry tart is rich and perfect in thickness. Got the strawberry shortcake and ube flavors to go and it was one of my favorite bites while in NYC. Service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a very small seating area, but I'd recommend getting them to go so you can share them with others too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I wanted to try something different in Chinatown not the usual egg tarts or Portuguese ones you find at most Chinese bakeries. Pinklady draws inspiration from Japan and offers a unique twist that caught me by surprise. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small storefront with just a few chairs, but what they lack in space they make up for in seriously impressive cheese tarts.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not usually a fan of cheesecake or anything too cheesy, so I walked in with low expectations... and walked out a fan. The tarts aren't overly sweet, which lets the flavors shine. The ube had a smooth, nutty richness, and the matcha had a mellow, earthy edge without being too bitter. I actually enjoyed them even more after leaving them in the fridge overnight--the crust turned extra crisp, and the texture held up beautifully. I also tried the black sesame tart, which had that deep, roasted flavor I love. The classic was solid and comforting, and the lemon had just the right amount of brightness. I brought the ube cheesecake to my office and paired it with coffee. Everyone devoured it in seconds. It was gone faster than you can say "cheesecake." If you're into trying something different, Pinklady is a quiet gem and a welcome addition to Chinatown.

This was an accidental find... after a quick brunch at Cha Kee... wander pass this tiny shop... and decided to pick up some tarts.... Honestly, deep down I knew no shop in NYC would make as good as the tarts in Osaka (Pablo!)... but this one gave it a good shot. Wasn't mind blowing good... it was decent tho. The ube flavor was very mild... black sesame was ok, the matcha one was good (per the teenager)... would I buy again, probably not...

    Angela P.

Love their cheese tarts they are all so cute and the flavors are just on point!! For the black sesame it just screams black sesame, you can def taste the matcha. I like how you can mix and match your set. We got a set of 6: Original Matcha (I'm typically a matcha girly but I think I like the other flavors more) Black Sesame Ube Lemon ( I just love lemony desserts) Strawberry Honestly you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. Def check them out, whenever you're in Chinatown!

    Rovingaile P.

Texture was great, and the ube flavor was truthfully my favorite. The classic was also delicious. Not a fan of the matcha and lemon flavors from the free samples that I tried, but would come back for these two!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Tiny little shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the plain and Ube, which they have noted as their most popular. It cost $8+ for the 2 (there's a $5 credit card minimum). They are fairly tiny. Not really knowing what to expect of their flavor, I found they taste like cheesecake. The Ube didn't really have a distinguishable flavor though.

I am closer to a rating of ;.5 but rounded up because the tarts were even better than I expected. These fluffy little cheese tarts have all the right flavors and textures going for them. I came specifically for the ube flavor but saw a 2 tart special and decided to also get black sesame - and I'm glad I did! Dare I say I may have enjoyed the black sesame a touch more?? The tarts were so fluffy, and the crust balanced it out very well. What I really enjoyed was that they aren't too sweet. The spot is a very small in-and-out, no frills sorta place so I would only do takeout. Solid dessert pickup spot!!

Stumbled into Pinklady and how lucky am I to find this place? We were the first ones here in the morning and were a bit worried that the tarts would not be as fresh because they had just opened the doors and it was going to be remnants from the day before but they didn't disappoint whatsoever. - Original - I appreciate how silky the filling is and that the cheese flavor really comes through. Sometimes I feel like cheese tarts can be too heavy on the crust and then it feels like you're just eating a cookie but I did not have a problem with this one at all. - Black Sesame - I love that they have so many unique flavors including this one and it was delicious! I love how both the black sesame flavor and cheese flavor came through. The crust was a bit softer here but still didn't feel overwhelming in comparison to the filling. Definitely one of New York's best kept secrets and will definitely come back again.

Unfortunately, my most recent visit left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. While preparing my order, an employee stopped me and asked, "Question for you... why are you wearing box braids? You're not Black, and I thought it was only a Black people thing." This comment was completely inappropriate, unsolicited, and had no place in a customer interaction. As a Filipino woman, I found this remark not only disrespectful but also culturally insensitive. Braiding has existed across many cultures, including Filipino culture, for generations. Regardless, it is never appropriate for an employee to question a customer's appearance or make assumptions about their ethnicity or cultural identity. I came in simply to enjoy my morning coffee, not to be interrogated or judged based on how I look. No customer should be made to feel uncomfortable, singled out, or stereotyped while patronizing a business. I hope management takes this matter seriously and provides additional training to ensure all customers are treated with professionalism, respect, and without prejudice. I genuinely enjoyed supporting this business, which makes this experience all the more disappointing

I have a core memory of cheesecake that was crust less from my childhood that my mom used to get and keep in the freezer. I've been searching for that unique flavor and this is it! I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!
