Ashley was wonderful from start to finish. She immediately made me feel comfortable and took the time to ask what kind of tan I wanted to achieve. She really listened and was very helpful in recommending the right level to get the color I was looking for. She recommended a level 3 tan and the color is developing nicely:) I look like I had a proper summer Italian Rivera vacation. The room was perfectly prepared and she made the entire process incredibly easy. She gave me excellent, clear directions on how to pose throughout the spray tan, so I always knew exactly what to do. She was also lightning fast without ever making the appointment feel rushed. When I say lightning fast, she truly was in and out. The service didn't feel rushed, she's just so highly skilled that she was able to complete the spray tan quickly. Ashley is professional, sweet, personable, and genuinely easy to "tan" with. Unfortunately I will not be back to this S+B location. I have been to the very S+B location in LA, and have always loved that sugared and bronzed hires very nice, helpful people. However I had a very different experience at this location. I drove an hour to get to this location in traffic and it was absolutely my fault to be 10 minutes late. I called ahead and informed the location of this and asked if that would be an issue, since I didn't see any information online regarding any grace period and I wasn't sure if my appointment would be honored or not (which would have been fine, again it was my fault that I was late). She told me I might not be able to get the full service I booked because of the time issues, which I was fine with, as long as I was able to be seen and they did what they had time for. When I got there (12 minutes late exactly), I was told I would only be able to receive a bikini wax, which was completely different than the service I booked. The front desk lady seemed almost annoyed I was even there and it made me very uncomfortable. I asked if I could reschedule at the santa monica location and was informed the only available appointments for the service I booked were at the Culver City location. I rescheduled and had to wait in the lobby for my ride, where I looked online and found there were indeed additional appointments at santa monica. I cancelled my Culver City appointment and rebooked Santa Monica because I really did not feel welcomed at this location. Again, totally my fault that I was late, but I would have appreciated a little more clarity that I would only be eligible to get a completely different service if I arrived late, because I would've cancelled and saved myself the hour drive. Also, maybe the receptionist was having a bad day but I felt super unwelcome, which is unfortunate because I have only felt good vibes at other S+B locations. However, this is a lovely woman-owned business and I am sure this experience was an anomaly. Can't wait for my Santa Monica appointment! read more

I've been coming to Sugared + Bronzed since you first opened in Santa Monica, so I was really disappointed with my experience at this location. I've never left an appointment looking the way I did after this spray tan. The makeup layer was incredibly dark to the point where I genuinely thought the formula may have been mixed incorrectly. Normally after my sprays, I can comfortably run errands or go about my day before rinsing, but this time I absolutely could not go out in public because of how dark it was. I was instructed to shower after 3 hours, which is what I've always done with a level 2, but I became so concerned about how dark the color was developing that I ended up showering after just 1 hour. Thankfully I did, because otherwise the result would have been far too dark for my liking. I'm especially disappointed because I paid over $80 for this service and left feeling uncomfortable and unhappy with the result. This experience felt very inconsistent with the quality I've come to expect from Sugared + Bronzed over the years. read more

I've been to this location three times now for spray tans and currently have a monthly membership, but I'm honestly starting to get frustrated. Every single visit, I've asked for my face to match the same shade as my body -- and not once has it actually matched. My body tan usually looks good, but my face always ends up noticeably lighter, which kind of defeats the purpose. Everyone who works here is super nice and welcoming, which I appreciate, but there are some things about the experience that could really be improved. The biggest one for me is how awkward checkout feels -- the same person who just did your spray tan also rings you up and directly asks about gratuity ("is the suggested tip % okay?"). It just puts you on the spot, especially if the service wasn't great that day. It would feel way less uncomfortable if someone else handled checkout. For now, I'm keeping my membership because I want to like this place -- the concept is great and the staff is friendly -- but if things don't start to improve, I'll probably switch to another Sugared + Bronzed location (some of the others seem to have better reviews). read more

I was a little nervous since I'd never had one before, but she made me feel so comfortable and walked me through everything. She really took her time to make sure everything looked perfect, and my tan came out so natural and even. I was honestly obsessed with the results and got so many compliments. I'm very disappointed. I called today at 12:05 to make an appointment for me and my friend. They gave us an appointment at 2:45. When I mentioned there were two of us, they said they would adjust it so we would both be seen at 2:45. When I arrived, they told me I had no appointment at all. What bothers me is that this is the second time they do the same thing, making me wait 45 minutes to see if they can fit me in. I'm very disappointed. I haven't had a spray tan in years so I decided to try it again and scheduled an appointment with a trainee, Anan did a great job giving me direction through the whole process and then went back and made sure I was sprayed evenly. I forgot how much I like spray tan as opposed to applying self tanner myself. Im definitely thinking of a membership, and the complimentary face sprays is a big selling point for me. Ive been going to sugar+bronze for about 8 years I want to say. Ive gone to couple locations throughout the city but the one I routinely go to the most is the one on Montana. I decided to give this location a try since I was going to be in the area. This was early upon their opening, maybe few weeks. I got there 8 min late looking for parking and I called them for my eta update. Attitude was pretty nasty from the phone call of that bat. Was told the technician would take me in but my late arrival would cut into my room time. Came in rushing she was passive aggressive and said ill take off whatever I can in five minutes. I had a Brazilian wax scheduled and basically she removed surface violently. Left there with pain looking like a clown lol. Never went back and came to my usual location moving forward. The place was empty there weren't any clients waiting. The few team members there . Gave mean girls vibes. Been to couple locations and they've always been very welcoming except this one. read more

I was so excited when the Culver City location finally opened, and am even happier to know they have an expert spray tan artist like Amber. She has handled my tan 3 times now and it's been really nice and even each time. She listens to and remembers my concerns from previous appointments and always makes sure my feet don't get too dark, which has been an issue for me in the past. I like the tan formula here- it's not too smelly or heavy on the skin and it fades pretty evenly. I've been a happy customer for over 4 years now. read more

Was advertised to on instagram. Called in to make appt with promo code, rep did not tell me to wear loose clothing. She told me the total on the phone (adding 18% tip automatically) and then went in and they tried to charge me a more expensive price, saying she made a mistake, they automatically add 18% tip if you don't ask...since when is tip an automatic anymore!?! Very distasteful. I have lines across my body because I wore tight clothing home after the spray tan. I want my money back. read more

I had such a great experience at this location! I used to go to the Beverly Hills location, but this new one is much closer to home. The service was quick but thorough & gentle! I had a bikini wax, upper lip wax, under arm wax and a spray tan. It was all done in an hour exactly! Dianna was very gentle and made my first wax in a few months pretty tolerable. Destiny gave me a flawless spray tan and explained everything so well to me since it was my first tan. I've been to multiple S&B's around LA, and I HIGHLY recommend this location to everyone! The location itself is also very beautiful, clean and they play great music. 10/10! read more

I have had a membership for over a year and it's been great. I come for my services and even when I'm out of town for more that a few months I still keep my membership. My last visit was August 31 2025. I went in for services and the sugarist was young and nice. We chatted while doing my service and when I left I placed cash in an envelope for her and gave it to the receptionist. I received my email receipt noting that I did not leave extra tip on my card on file. About 3 hours after my service and my receipt I received another email saying that an additional $23 was processed as tip. I thought this might have been a mistake but the charge was on my card. I've been calling the location and messagings for some days and they keep giving me the run around saying a manager will reach out soon. But I haven't heard from a manager. I am now at the point where I reporting the transaction for theft. I never approved an additional tip to be added and considering my appointment was long over when this tip was added it shows the fraudulent nature of it. I am not sure if the young girl did it herself or if another worker there did but whoever did it this is unacceptable. You don't just get to take money from someone else's account. A tip is me paying extra on my service. It's not mandatory nor is a specific amount mandated. Essentially this young lady received a 100% tip in total as cash and the unauthorized transaction. Be careful where you have a card stored and allowing them to charge it. This is abuse of trust. I have my card on file for my membership. Not for them to steal from me. This is very upsetting and I am not sure if I will continue my membership knowing they are allowing the workers to give themselves tips on clients cards without permission. read more

I had been to Sugared and Bronzed once before and had a great experience - it was quick, virtually painless, and my skin felt fine afterward. However, during my second visit (with a different esthetician), the experience was drastically different. The procedure was extremely painful - to the point where I was sweating and felt lightheaded. My bikini area remained sore and unusually hot for over 10 hours after, and I also noticed small bruises on the skin afterward. I understand that waxing can be uncomfortable, but this level of pain and the aftermath were far beyond what I expected based on my first visit. It left me feeling really uncomfortable and hesitant to return. Just wanted to share my experience so others are aware that the service can vary a lot depending on the esthetician. read more
