I recently visited Sugar & Bronze on 2nd Street in Long Beach and had a disappointing experience with Katrina. We arrived early, hoping to be seen sooner, but there was another appointment before mine. I did receive a text 1051am unfortunately, the store I was in had blocked signal. It wasn't till 1105 as I walked out of the store I received a call and I said I'm walking back. I arrived back it was 1114am Katrina did not offer to reschedule and was quite rude and unaccommodating telling me "well you're late" and was very argumentative that my husband expressed her mannerism was negative and told her to "cállate tu boca" as he speaks three languages. She accused us of being racist and threatened to call security on us. Spanish is my first language and was just shocked of her behavior. During this time her demeanor and attitude suggested she didn't want to be there. I was flabbergasted of her behavior and I told her she was rude as fuck. I hope the management addresses this issue to improve her customer service. I would Love to chat with a manager her argumentative behavior was absolutely uncalled for! Even her coworker appeared uncomfortable with the entire situation covering her ears. read more

I've been here a couple of times and satisfied with their spray tan so decided to come back for a special occasion. I walked in at 1150ish and waited 3-4 minutes before someone came to check me in. It happened to be Dana, the manager. She said her next opening was at 1240pm and she was all booked. I asked if she could squeeze me in if someone was late and she said she would text me if she could but that it usually takes 20 per person so it would unlikely. I decided to wait in the salon in case this happened so I could get in and out ASAP. At 1230 I realizes that not a single person had walked in or out of the salon. When the other girl came out I asked her what's happening I was told next opening was in 40 minutes and no one has been in our out so what is Dana doing.... her reply shocked me. She was on her break. Dana the manager made a customer wait literally 45+ minutes while she took her break. She could easily have taken me then her break. If I wasn't in desperate need of the tan I would have walked out. I do know I won't be walking back in that salon again. Also the first time the girl did not automatically add the tip I. The total my 2nd and last time Dana was the one to spray me and she automatically added 18% tip which was not acceptable. A tip is something the customer give for services they are happy with to show appreciation. Why would I tip.you for making me wait?? read more

My last Sugar Brazilian the esthetician was really enjoyable and not much pain than I usually experience and I've been getting sugared for about 9 years now. Too bad we can't keep the same person only cause we can't build a one on one relationship but that is good because everyone will get the experience of sugaring a client and no favors are chosen. I came in to give it a try because I live right up the street. First off, the facilities are brand new so everything is clean and it smelled great. Nicole, my sugarist, was amazing. She was super fast! I really appreciated that. Here are my grievances, when I went in I expected to just get a Brazilian but then Nicole was like, "I can get your underarms too," when she saw my hair. I asked how much it was, she wasn't sure or hesitated to answer. I should have just taken that as a red flag. I knew that I had already planned on getting the membership that would make my Brazilian $49 instead of $69, but when I checked out, they weee really trying to get me to upgrade the membership to the $89/month membership (with a 2 month minimum subscription) because they said it'd be cheaper in the long run. I was like..... wait a second, how can my armpits be more than $40? Sure enough.... Armpits are literally $59 extra. Then, when I said I wasn't interested in spray tanning, I felt like it was still being pushed on me. I felt so bamboozled! I ended up paying $49 for the once a month Brazilian membership and $59 for my underarms, which was about $130 total with tip. I think that price for underarms is WILD - it usually costs $25-35 for underarms ($28 at Sugar Cove), no where near $60!!!!!!!! It definitely felt like pricing was designed to almost force you into membership. After my membership is charged next month, I'm not sure I'll be back. I definitely felt upsold and over charged! read more

Wow ! I was super stoked for my first appointment and they did not disappoint. Very clean facility, incredibly kind and knowledgeable staff. I think it was Nichole that waxed me and she was absolutely wonderful in and out in 20 mins and my lady bits are rejoicing that we found this spot. I signed up for the membership for either two Brazilians or two tans a month at a shocking $89 bucks like what !?! .... Yes please. Listen ladies don't sleep on this place. Self care and all that.
