Sushi was not my first choice; however, everything around St. Thomas has been delicious, and we are sushi fans. Well, we were disappointed to say the least about the sushi quality and the meat portions in the roll. We came early at 1:15PM and learned they did not open until 2PM, and it was recommended we show up at 2:30 in case the kitchen was backed up. I'm assuming the kitchen supplies the rest of the Westin with food. However, the happy hour menu says open 2-4PM. A little disconnect here! We arrived at 2:20PM and we were the first ones to get seated. We ordered the following Crispy rice, Sashimi tostada, Shrimp tempura roll, sugar fin roll and spicy tuna roll. The only thing that was ok was the crispy rice and sashimi tostada. Everything else did not appear fresh, tasted like warm sushi, and the portions of the meat inside was sad to say the least. I've had better rolls ordering them at Costco with more flavor and more meat. The only real good thing on the menu was the Garden of Envy drink on the happy hour menu. Absolutely delicious! Sad right!! the only thing that got me excited was the drink. SMH! We pivoted from Luna Mar, looks like we should have gone there. For being the first restaurant we did not like it's an acceptable loss. The restaurant has a beautiful view. Too bad they can't capitalize on that experience. read more

Stopped here a few times while staying on the property. I enjoyed my cocktails. However, I didn't love the food. It was bland and the portions were really small. I'd go here for cocktails before dinner but I wouldn't eat here. read more

Probably my favorite meal during our stay at the westin. Started with a cocktail (plum and lychee one) that was very tasty. The sushi was fresh. I got the edemame for sharing and got the sweet and spicy one. It was a large portion and perfect for 2 maybe 3 people. We ended the night with a berry creme brulee that was a bit too sweet but still yummy. The view outside was gorgeous. Staff was nice and helpful and attentive. We came here for dinner while staying at Marriott Frenchman's Cove since their restaurant was being renovated. We sat inside since it was already dark outside and couldn't see anything. Our waitress was friendly and took our orders promptly. We got the poke tuna nachos, firecracker roll and California roll. All were very good! It was nice to have sushi while visiting the islands. read more

Awful service, would refuse to give us our drinks. The food took an hour to come out and they forgot that I had a gluten allergy. Had to use my EpiPen and the staff doesn't care at all about you. So rude and disrespectful to all guest. DONT come here! read more

Sushi Rice was hard so disappointed! I was looking. Forward to good sushi , how do you serve hard rice (stale) in the rolls. I just dont get it. Has gozilla roll, it was tough like godzilla. It makes you wonder about the fish. Fish was ok. My husband had firecracker, it was less hard but still did not melt in your mouth. Wait staff was pleasant, chatty and attentive. Had to wait a bit for our drinks but ok given we are on vacay and on island time. Ambiance is perfect. I would come for drinks skip the food unless they get a new chef or quality control. read more

Sushi located inside the beautiful Westin Resort on St. Thomas. Walk into the grand entrance of the resort and head to the quaint restaurant in the rear with amazing views of the surrounding islands. Live entertainment was wonderful. Service was lacking. Took a while to receive our drinks. Ordered a starter, sashimi and sushi, everything came at the same time, which is not what was expected. Had to ask for chopsticks and received wooden ones while the other tables around us received silver ones after we got ours . Our sever was not as attentive as we would have liked, even though the restaurant was not full, but the food was really good with ample portions. Would recommend going. read more

Me and my friend checked out this spot for dinner last night and I decided to get some sushi since I haven't had it in a while, when we arrived it's was super busy the host told us there was no take out but she could add us to a waitlist, so we joined the waitlist they called us not long after. The bar is beautiful the place is very beautiful, I had the firecracker sushi roll and it tasted very good I enjoyed it i definitely recommend this place read more

Wow, terrible service and discourteous staff. We decided to dine here and the drink menu was limited with the excuse that they "were not serving specialty drinks tonight." Seriously, how hard is it to put some rum and fruit juice in a glass? Apparently, the restaurant and entire hotel was short staffed tonight. Also, they experienced a fire yesterday that set them back some. A patron sitting next to us claimed he waited almost an hour for his dinner. read more

Meh. Good food. Great views. Overpriced everything... but so is every decent place in STT. Great place to see and be seen. Fun scene. I have to add! Even though we had a pretty bad experience with the wait staff and food, the manager, Amy and the bartenders, completely changed my mind!! Thier efforts to make up for our bad experience completely eclipse the poor service and food on that particular night. 100% turned it around. Thank you for caring!!! read more

This is a definite most do if you love sushi. There is a great story about the chef in the local magazine highlighting his food. Sushi Yellowfin Tuna Poke Nachos were out of this world! The prices were standard for somewhere nice to eat and the quality was exceptional; for a frugal person, I would have paid even more. read more

Went to Sugarfin for dinner with a party of 8 on the 12th around 7:30 pm. The food was good but I have to say the service was not great. The timing for bringing out the food definitely could have been better. We received our last poke bowl after everyone was already done eating and we had to ask for it. Came twice on our visit to st Thomas while staying at the Westin and both times we sat at a table the service was not up to par. The views are great and menu looked nice. Food took over an hour to come out and server did not check on us or come greet the other people who sat down in a timely manner. Food which shouldn't be hot came out with an odd taste and too warm. Expresso martini came looking like red wine in a wine glass. Have had excellent experiences at every other restaurant but was very let down by sugarfin. read more

I'll give this 2 stars because the food is good. (Writing this before we get our sushi (our Thai Chili edamame was delicious) The service is absolutely horrendous. And we stopped in prior to this night. These fellas are sitting in our little area with us didn't even get greeted for at least 20 minutes while the manager and server passed by numerous times. It's seems they could care less about their jobs this place is a joke. Just got my sushi and my first bite and I feel sick. They also just served the guys espresso martinis in wine glasses. Highly recommend! We stayed at the Morningstar buoy haus, which is connected to the Westin. We ate at Sugarfin 2 nights in a row, and was close to making it 3 nights, it's that good. Can't go wrong with any rolls, we are huge sushi people and it was amazing! Tried all of the rolls except the California and Kale-ifornia rolls. All were so delicious! The service and view is amazing as well read more
