Let me start off by saying I will never go back to shaving EVER again. I've always had problematic skin - severely itchy - that I've been to multiple dermatologists for with no avail. I decided to try sugaring because of all the good I've read about it, its natural ingredients, and it being much better/healthier to your skin than regular waxing. I started my sugaring journey about a month ago. The website is really easy to maneuver, and I picked all the areas I wanted done I had my appointment with Hodalis. She was extremely professional, patient, and kind. She asked me a few questions since it was my first time doing any type of waxing. She's extremely knowledgeable, meticulous and gave me great aftercare advice. I've been back a second time to see her, and she'll be my forever sugaring esthetician!! I went to cortina for a lash lift and brown lamination. I was her very first model at the time & I was very nervous because I had never done anything eyelash or eyebrow wise. as soon as I walked in cortina gave me a warm welcome and I felt immediately relieved! at that point on I knew I was in a judge mental zone. she sat me down & laid me down on the massage bed and to started setting up for the procedure. she then performed a consultation. to be honest I can't say anything about how the procedure felt because I was so comfortable I fell asleep! when I woke up I woke up with perfect brows and perfect lashes. it literally looked at like I had a filter on! I really couldn't believe how long my natural lashes were.. cortina proceeded to hype me up before I left her room. I was so satisfied with the results and I'm so glad I took a chance at sugaring New York City with cortina. Today I went back to Sugaring NYC - Brooklyn, my second appointment, first one being in February. I'm not going to lie, it hurt A LOT due to months of like... you know, not doing that and not getting accustomed like I had planned to. But my experience was only better despite the pain. Lex the receptionist was so sweet when I walked in, talking to me as she checked me in with her stylish black sequined mask. Devonequa was my person today... My first visit was great but my second one today with her was fantastic. She's very knowledgable and friendly. Talked to me majority of the time and it was a great distraction. I already told her I'm about to be her regular. She informed me on aftercare practices and even dropped extra knowledge on why it is important. After looking at only two reviews, I decided that since my long time Sugarista was not available that Iris would be my best bet. I was oh so right. I got a full Brazilian the V- facial after 6 months of not even trimming so I was expecting the worst. She quite literally finished the FULL BRAZILIAN in 15 minutes . Not to mention that she changed the Sugar hardness so that it would hurt significantly less than normal. After that she pulled out magnifying glasses to get my ingrowns out and somehow managed to get over 30+ out in 9 minutes - ALL WHILE EXPLAINING EVERY STEP TO ME. The rest of the treatments she did were done very carefully and specifically tailored to my situation and ingrown prevention - god bless her. SO YES PLEASE GO TO IRIS. I love this place - every time I'm here I feel welcomed and pretty comfortable considering the places I'm getting waxed. Overall, the sugaring process is just so much more tolerable than traditional wax. And at this location the sugarists are professional, fast, and super efficient. I know, and respect that hair removal isn't for everyone, and I go through my moments when I don't care to remove the hair on my body, but when I do want it gone I go to Sugaring NYC and I'm really really pleased. So I met Delores during quarantine and she changed my life! Lolol I hadn't waxed since the pandemic started and I declared never to go back to shaving! she's sooo passionate about her work, I love it. She is gentle and actually holds down the area after the wax is ripped. She actually uses tweezers if necessary to make sure everything is clean. I usually go to this location, but this time I took advantage of the %50 off "new hire" service. I got a Brazilian and underarms service by Jessica. She was soooo good! She won me over when she went back to pluck and get every single hair instead of just leaving it. I'm not sure if that's apart of the service but I never received it before until Jessica. This place is great. I have been looking for a sugar parlor for a year and a half since I moved to Brooklyn. Ashely was amazing. She did an incredible job. I feel so clean and fresh. She was easy to talk to and I could feel her care as she put her attention on sugaring me. Love the ambiance of the place. Kamali , did an amazing job! This is much better than regular wax or shaving. My hair grew back slower and finer I will be returning The place is very clean , you can tell their practices are very sanitary.
