I made an appnt for 2pm. I called 12 minutes before the apont and explained I was stuck in traffic due to a car accident and would be a little late (5-10). When I got there at 6 minutes passed I was told I could not have the appnt because it would cause the appnt after to be late as well. Ok, I scheduled another appnt at 330, came early at 319 and sat until 346 before anyone was able was to start the appnt. If you are going to be strict about times with your customers, be respectful when you can't fulfill your responsibilities of time and equity. Moral of story: The manager is rude (seeks feedback and then defends her customer abuse. This explains why their aestheticians keep leaving all the time). Called for feedback and then offered nothing in return other than a "we can be late but you can't" explanation. Not returning. Third bad experience here and I'm done. Buyer be wary. They are NOT nice to customers or understanding. Aestheticians are great but managers, not so much. read more

Been getting sugared for about a year now. But I needed a last minute appointment and this popped up my search. They had a really good deal- 50% off a service & 10% Yelp check in. I got a Brazilian and under arms. They use cold sugar when waxing. I've had it both ways- warm and cold. So I didn't mind. TIP: IF YOU KNOW YOU'LL BE LATE, call! They are super strict about the 5 minute grace period. (Yes- 5 minutes). They front desk person was telling me how she was just about to cancel me as I walked in at 10:46. My appointment was 10:40. But because it was my first time, "you get a pass." This is one star off just because 5 minutes is a little intense. I wouldn't mind a 15 min? But 5 min? Esp when parking is either street or a 2 min walk from a parking lot. Vanessa was the tech that worked with me. She was really nice. Talked stories to make you feel comfortable. Told you breathing exercises and stuff. She had a decent amount of pressure. Took note of pressure points and sensitive areas. One thing I didn't like- was not being able to have the option to "check" till the very end. When I was done, I took a look in the mirror, and noticed sparse hairs that didn't get picked up from the sugar. But I couldn't do anything about it since we were done. When I got home to wash up, I felt pain on my skin. And that's usually normal for me because I have sensitive skin. But it's been a day- and still felt pain. Which is new. Noticed I had cuts. Like my skin was pulled off. And this is missed during a wax because waxing is already painful. This is the first time ever that my skin got pulled off during a sugar wax experience. The last time this happened was when I had hard wax... Overall- this is an alright place to check out if you want to try sugaring. read more

If you can tolerate pain you will likely be fine. This was far more painful than any waxing I've ever had done. The pressure putting the sugar paste on was insane. I have bruises on my shins and I do not bruise easily. Ripping it off was similar to waxing, but after the way it was applied? I am sensitive, I admit it. I could not finish the full leg wax I signed up for. They were extremely kind about giving me a partial credit back - honestly I was just done and didn't care at that moment about money. The numbing spray was a complete waste. It may have worked if it was let to sit on my skin for a bit. Or wasn't washed right back off? I don't know. Short story, my tech was polite, the receptionist was very sweet and they were kind to credit a part of my $ back after I had enough and quit half way thru. read more

The sugaring I received was amazing. The product is great and the results are everything you could want. Elizabeth was fantastic. However... as a fellow service provider I was disappointed to find out that after specifically requesting to be booked with her my appointment was moved to be with another esthetician who I did not know and did not ask for without being notified. There was no call or email. If things needed to be changed I would've appreciated some sort of communication. Clients have a right to have their requests honored or at least be notified if changes need to be made, especially regarding services like intimate hair removal. read more

This was my first time getting waxed/sugared and while the customer service and rapport was great, the $100+ I spent was not. I had a full butt, brow and upper leg done. The full butt was not completely done, and neither were my legs. I could have done a better job at home, for free. My brows weren't completely terrible but I worked hard on them over 5 years that now I'm missing hair from areas that took far too long to grow. The overall integrity of my brow is not what they were before. I'm extremely disappointed in the chat customer service I received and do NOT wish to go back for a "touch up" the damage is done and I only wish to be refunded fully, if not partially since I did not land up getting what I paid for. read more

Totally unimpressed- Disappointing customer service. Sugaring NYC booked me for 1 hour for 2 services. I called ahead before my appointment started to let them know I was running a bit late and would we be able to keep the appointment- they simply said, "yes". I get there 10 min late to be told they were canceling my entire hour appointment. 1) they could have said this over the phone so I didn't waste time and gas to get there and 2) they didn't even offer to do only one of the two services I scheduled. I pointed out that I was scheduled for 1 hour and still had over 50 min for the appointment. I asked how long one of the services was and she told me 30 min. I asked why I couldn't complete one of them and she said she could do one, but not the one I wanted. If I have to work this hard to be a potential customer, I'm going to go elsewhere that provides good service and wants to earn a tip!
