I had been hopping from dentist to dentist for a while until I found Sugimori Dental Office. I have been coming here for close to a decade now and my love for them only grows. When I first started to visit, it was Dr. Sugimori. He was more on the stern side and he would call you out if you're failing on your dental hygiene but will kindly explain to you on why it's so important. As the years went by I saw Dr. Sugimori less, and I believe his daughter Lisa and Dr. Ibarra started to look after me more. Both are great people, super kind and respectful. It shows that this office has great management. You can tell the whole staff seem to be happy working there. I often go see them around the time they take spring breaks and such and I remember Dr. Ibarra mentioning staff is happier when they take these breaks. I truly see it in their attitude. The front ladies are awesome in scheduling. Even when I mess up sometimes and come to appointments late, they are always so kind about it. Oh! And an added bonus, I believe they are trilingual in staffing. They speak English, Japanese, Spanish. Which caters to a good bunch of the demographic in the area Also, what I love about this place is that they give you your estimated pricing way in advance. Other places wouldn't let me know until after the fact, so I appreciate this service. As for the skills, every staff here is talented. Their equipment upgrades every time I visit. I notice especially because when I was dentist hopping back in the day, I would find places that didn't even have a spitting table and would ask me to get up and go spit. Meanwhile, this office is at the next level where they're speaking into a speaker to take notes. Their x-rays are getting better, and I feel like even their anesthetic is becoming easier to take in. I remember I used to suffer getting my teeth numbed more than the procedures, now, I barely feel the needle going into my mouth. If I can fall asleep because I feel so relaxed while getting a filling done on my tooth, that tells me they're doing a pretty good job. All the conversations had with the staff is great. Some places will barely spend any time with you and try to make you do unnecessary and expensive procedures, but Dr. Lisa treats you like how she'd treat her own family. My teeth have never felt cleaner and better! I also loved how gentle yet thorough they do the cleanings. I used to dread going to the dentist and would skip some years, but I'm actually looking forward to my next visit. Never thought I'd say that! One time, I chipped my front tooth and wanted to get it fixed ASAP because I was leaving on vacation in a few days. Luckily, Dr. Sergio was able to squeeze me in to their busy schedule that same week and fixed my tooth in half an hour. He did such a good job that I can't even feel the difference from my real tooth when I run my tongue against the enamel! Amazing. I have been going to Sugimori for almost 4 years. I highly recommend this dental office! Dr. Lisa is my primary dentist. She does a fantastic job all the time. She took care of my wisdom tooth, cavities, crowns job, general check-ups, and even straightened my teeth! I used to have an overbite, and Dr. Lisa helped me fix them with Invisalign. Now my teeth look amazing! To maintain my straighten teeth, I wear a retainer every night. Dr. Lisa always has extra care to get my retainer fit on my teeth perfectly after each treatment is done. I'm also so impressed she recently fixed my tiny stain spots between my front teeth perfectly. She pays close attention to details so well. When I had severe pain with my cavity while I was in east coast, she gave me amazing urgent response and prescription for medicine across the states. Oh, I don't want to forget to mention the fantastic staff there. They are very friendly and very punctual on time. Some staff speak both Japanese and English. Usually, when you go there at your appointment time, you can be sitting at the treatment seat in 5 mins. If they already know there would be a delay, like 15 mins, they call you and let you know you can go there 15 mins late. (I had 30 mins waiting time once, but that is a rare case in my over 30 times visiting there. ) Now not just myself; my husband and my 2 boys see Dr. Lisa too. We all like Sugimori! read more

Dr. Lisa is an amazing dentist! She is kind and explains things well, and is really good at taking care of our teeth. My daughter just had her cavities done and said that dr. Lisa did it so good that she was falling asleep while dr. Lisa was working on her cavity. It was pain free yay! The staff is also wonderful! From the minute I called them to the minute I stepped into their office, they treated my daughter and I like friends. We had a situation with insurance and they helped us take care of it. I found this dentist within our insurance network. We are very happy. My husband had a dental emergency, and they were able to take him the next day due to a cancellation. My husband was really please with how he explained what he was doing, and was very professional. The staff really made him feel at ease. Our last dentist was horrible, she drilled his gum, and since then, my husband has been wanting to find the right one. Dr. Toshifumi even greeted my daughter and I as we were waiting. We were looking for a dentist that was close to home and in our Blueshield network and found this dental group. Of course, I was leery because they were IN NETWORK. My mistake, I was leery for nothing, they are awesome! The front desk associates are so nice, patient and helpful! Which really helps when you go into a new office. They are the first impression, a plus! 2nd impression the dental assistant who takes you to the back to get you set up for the doctor. She's professional, friendly and efficient, another plus! We were seen by Dr LIsa Sugimori, a very sweet, gentle, kind and knowledgeable person. My husband, who is not very fond of dentist was comfortable and willing to go back again! :o) a definite plus! Lastly, he had his teeth cleaned by the hygienist and he said she did a great job and will definitely see her again. He's not fond of hygienist either. Our old dentist was great too but they didn't really have any high tech equipment like this dental group. Sugimori's knowledge and technology seem as new as early 70's, and never updated since. I found a white spot on gum. It was a sign of Alveolar pyralia infections. He disinfected the area by injections, but the infection kept coming back. I went to see him 3 times to clean the area, but infections never went away. I found later that he was just a regular dentist, who had no knowledge for root canal treatment. He should have told me that. In few months, the infections spread deeper and wider even to adjacent teeth. I started to look for root canal specialists thru internet. I found a good doctor, who strongly recommended implants before infections got spread much wider and deeper into borne. I'd probably lost three teeth, if I stayed with Sugimori. read more

I will NEVER go there again. (Can't go anyway) They didn't even make sure my treatment was covered by the insurance first, then started treatment without any acknowledgement and guess what...they told me the insurance was out of network and asked me to pay the cost. They gave me a tiny percentage of discount but asking to pay over $500 without any notice in advance is not acceptable. They said this is the miscommunication between them and the insurance company, but it's still their responsibility to let the patient know before starting any treatment especially if I couldn't use my insurance there at all!! I went there for a check up and had no idea what they did was a costly treatment. If I knew I would have picked a different dentist. I even gave them my insurance info when I made an appointment. With only a half of my treatment is done, I have to find another dentist asap. To make me feel worse, the doctor told me that my insurance was "CHEAP" so it wouldn't have covered much anyways. He has no idea how much I pay for the insurance every month. It never happened to me before or at any other doctors appointments, and I think I have better insurance than average. Very unprofessional, disappointed, and wasted my time. read more
