Becky stocks the units with all appliances, cleaning supplies, and linens, making it possible for guests to settle in comfortably the moment we arrive. The vibe on the property is friendly, and the best thing is the allowance of pets, including big dogs. Although the property isn't right on the beach, biking around is fun and there's plenty to walk to in terms of grocery stores and necessities nearby. For the cost and quality along with convenience, I wouldn't recommend anything else in PB!

Every morning at 7:00 a.m., a low-flying plane from the nearby airfield will almost certainly wake you up. The building has poor sound insulation, and noisy neighbors are easy to hear.

Due to poor ventilation in the bathroom, there was an issue with mold. The linoleum/vinyl flooring in the kitchen and bathroom was starting to peel. But I imagine the older finishes were a main reason why the rent was so reasonable. All in all, we really loved living here.

I had to repeatedly call and email to try to get my account corrected. One of the most frustrating aspects was dealing with the Property Manager, **Suzy Reyes**. Phone calls were never returned, concerns were not addressed, and I never felt that management genuinely cared about resolving resident issues. Communication was consistently poor throughout my tenancy. The property itself has numerous problems: * Excessive monthly water charges that seemed unreasonably high. * Residents are charged separately for pest control, yet I experienced a mouse infestation while living there. * The trash area was frequently overflowing and unsanitary. * Hallways and elevators were often dirty and poorly maintained. * The apartment windows were old, worn out, and in need of replacement. I was even charged a $75 late fee despite being enrolled in AutoPay. I had to prove that AutoPay had been set up before the charge was finally removed. Residents should not have to spend their time correcting management's billing mistakes. After I moved out, I was also charged for cleaning, painting, and carpet cleaning, even though I thoroughly cleaned the apartment before turning in my keys. I left the unit in good condition and was surprised by these additional charges. Overall, this property charges premium rent while providing substandard maintenance and customer service. My experience left me feeling that resident concerns were simply not a priority. I cannot recommend living here and would encourage prospective renters to carefully research this property before signing a lease.

Most responses were vague and repetitive, often stating only that the waitlist was "closed" or that movement was "random." One of the most confusing aspects of the process was being told that placement depended entirely on contacting the office during brief "open windows," while at the same time applicants were discouraged from contacting the office too frequently. Since these openings were never publicly announced, the process felt unclear and difficult to navigate fairly. After years of interest and many months of respectful follow-up, I was ultimately informed that I would not be allowed to apply when the waitlist reopened. This was extremely disappointing, especially given the amount of time, patience, and effort I invested trying to follow their stated procedures in good faith. I understand that senior housing availability can be limited and that management must handle many inquiries. However, I believe applicants deserve greater transparency, clearer communication, and a process that feels more accessible and consistent for everyone involved. I sincerely hope Sunrise Management reviews and improves its waitlist communication practices moving forward, because the community itself appears to be a place many seniors genuinely hope to call home.
