From the day I moved in until the day I moved out, the team was professional, honest, and easy to work with. The property was well maintained, and whenever something needed attention, it was handled quickly without a lot of back-and-forth. A special thanks goes to Zach. He was consistently responsive, approachable, and genuinely helpful. I lived at one of Crown Management's properties, Twin Palms, for the entirety of my time living in San Diego. It was the best experience I have had. I lived in two different units (I went from a studio to a one bedroom) and both units were absolutely beautiful and renovated so nicely. Wendy tried to pressure me into signing and paying a security deposit of $800 without even letting me view the property. Don't give into their pressure sales!!! She was very rude when I took some time to decide on signing the lease and paying the deposit (understandably). She canceled the contract when I didn't immediately sign it and sent the message attached. The photos/videos advertised were not the property they were leasing and wouldn't allow FaceTime/videos of the property. Avoid this company!!!! read more

I rented from Crown Management two separate times - once in North Pacific Beach, and the other in Bankers Hill. Both times I was extremely satisfied with their property management service. Anytime I had a maintenance issue, it was handled promptly and they didn't cut corners when it came to repairs, which is rare to find. My girlfriend and I have been renting through crown management for 3 years now and are looking forward to many more. We've actually switched to a new unit of theirs every year so far as well and the customer service of Wendy, her husband and and team have proven to be fantastic with every transition. The units have all been beautiful due to recent remodeling and upgrades. Special shout-out to their Sapphire and Ingraham st units. From the initial paperwork process up to when I checked out, everything was very smooth. She always tried to help and made sure that I got everything I needed. I rented an apartment from Crown Management over in Mission Beach for 6 years and had a great experience. Patrick and Wendy were extremely professional, and consistently responsive to my needs as a tenant. Along with their team, they dealt with routine maintenance with efficiency and care. If you have any maintenance needs, they make it quick and easy to report and track the progress through an online portal for tenants. Rent is also fast and easy to pay through an online payment system. Wendy makes herself available as needed for any questions or concerns. She even thanked me for doing such a good job cleaning my unit when I moved out, which was very nice. I've heard of renters having some pretty bad experiences with owners/property managers not following through, not being responsive, not taking care of the property, etc. With Crown Management, you can trust that they will handle your needs and make sure the property is safe and in good condition at all times. San Diego properties are filled with highly disorganized, non-committal, and barely responsive property managers/landlords. Crown Management is a welcomed GEM in this sea of disarray! :) Whereas it is more typical for tenants to write reviews at the end of their lease, I'm writing this at the beginning, because I've been so impressed by Wendy and Patrick (the rock-star property managers): My brother and I moved from Oregon and were looking for a clean, quiet 2 bdr close to the beach (we millennials want it all don't we? :)) But, because of our busy work schedules, we had no time to come to SD for a visit. We were so impressed by Wendy's responsiveness (to our multiple emails) and online reviews that we rented our place blind (having never stepped foot in it)! We love our new place, and all maintenance issues that have arose were resolved immediately... I love Crown Management! I have been renting from them for a few years and they are by far the nicest and most responsive managers I've dealt with. I was originally referred to Crown by another happy tenant and decided to go with them after reading their positive reviews on Yelp. I'm so happy I did! They have always made things easy- from the application process to signing my lease to handling my maintenance requests. I totally understand why their units are so popular. They helped me find my perfect apartment. I had almost given up on finding a nice place in North PB in my price range. But they actually had a lot of great options. I had very specific things I was looking for- I wanted wood floors, a dishwasher, laundry onsite and an updated interior. I also wanted a deck or a balcony. And it had to be walking distance to the beach. Most importantly, it had to be OK for a cat. Well, not only did I find an apartment with all of those things but it even had new appliances- a total bonus for me as I love to cook. My apartment is awesome. Working with Crown has really been a pleasure. Wendy is great about getting back to me when I have a question, even returning my texts on weekends. I've never had a manager do that. I love that I can do everything online from paying my rent to requesting a new window screen. There are so many impersonal management companies out there. I lived in one of the properties owned by Crown Management for 3 years, and I absolutely loved it! The apartment was newly remodeled, and it was absolutely spotless when I moved in. The outside was well kept with regularly gardeners and cleaners. When I was living there, they replaced all the windows with nice, upgraded windows with no inconvenience to us. Anytime we had a repair or question, Wendy was quick to respond and typically had someone out same day or the next day. Laundry was on site and easy to use. Move in and move out processes were easy. We kept our apartment pretty clean but did a good, deep clean upon move out and received all of our deposit back. Rent did increase each year, but it was by a reasonable amount and often less than other friends living in the area. They also seem to look for young professionals as tenants, so our neighbors were around the same age, respectful, quiet, and they became some of our best friends! I would absolutely recommend any properties owned by Crown Management. We had to move away due to work, but if I moved back to San Diego, I would look for their properties first. read more

The apartments are very well remodeled.They are professional, respond to things in a timely manner and take care of things accordingly. They are also very reasonable most the times, which is hard to find in this industry. They do screen and run credit checks on everybody, which is a great thing if you don't want bad neighbors. This is the 2nd property that I have rented from Crown Management. I rented from another management company a while back near Crown Point and it was terrible compared to this. The good thing about this is that they have updated all their units so they have new kitchens and nice working appliance including refrigerators, dishwashers, and nice improved bathrooms. If anything breaks they are right on it and fix the situation. Wendy, her husband, and Patrick all worked together to get my water heater fixed quickly and handled the situation well when my old water heater went out and started to leak in my apartment. I've been renting from Crown Management for the past year and recently moved into another property of theirs. The entire staff has always been incredibly warm, responsive and professional. I only had one maintenance issue (old water heater) in the past year of renting with them and they were quick as to resolve my issue. They had a plumber out there at once and the water heater replaced in the same day. They replaced the items I had used to clean up and even took a few days rent off for my inconvenience. (I've been renting for almost 10 years and not once have I received that sort of compensation.) I knew I wanted to relocate to a new area in San Diego a few months before my lease was up and notified Wendy. Without even having to reference anything, she knew my budget, needs and was able to list potential availability's). I was specific in mentioning a particular complex and she called me the day a unit opened up for me. Upon moving day, Wendy was flexible and worked with my work schedule (which can be crazy at times). Any question or request along the way, she's answered and then some. The level of customer service I've received with Crown Management far surpasses any of which I've received with any other property management company. They understand that even though it's a rental to them, it's a home to you. It's nice to have that type of faith with a property management company. Oh, and all their properties are nicely updated... I had a chance over the weekend to visit my old building on Turquoise in PB. I think it looks even better than when I lived there. They've added a new area in the front with mini palm trees and flowers. Also in the courtyard area are nice tables with umbrellas. I still have several friends living there who rented there because I referred them. No surprise that these folks have so many 5 star reviews. They deserve them. read more

I am currently in my third rental property in the San Diego area and Crown Management has been the best property management company I have worked with thus far! From the beginning, Wendy and Patrick have been professional, friendly, and welcoming. I became interested in one of their Mission Beach properties on a later Friday afternoon and gave Wendy a call- she made time to run my credit check that day and I was in signing a lease on a Saturday (I'm more of a like-to-get-it-done-right-now kind of gal, but for those of you not so eager to sign, I'm sure they would be flexible!). And I am certainly glad I signed! Some of the benefits of working with Crown Management have been: they are professionals and specialize in their properties (Wendy and Patrick have been in the business and they aren't sending out college students to show you properties like some other places!); a reasonable security deposit (less than one month's rent); timely maintenance responses (complete within a day or two); renovated properties (my bathroom and kitchen have been updated in the last 2 years); and dedicated parking available at little extra cost (for those also in Mission/Pacific beach, that's important!). I highly recommend Crown Management. It is true that you leave a message on their office machine, but the recording tells you exactly what to say and they have always called me back within a reasonable time frame. I say go for it! Crown has a variety of apartments in awesome locations. All the ones we looked at were really well maintained and modern on the inside. We've lived in our property for the past year and a half and I wouldn't have wanted to live anywhere else in San Diego. We told them what we were looking for and they came back with a list of viewings to suit. They went out of their way to let us view the property whilst it was still being remodeled because we were that desperate to claim it before anyone else! Looking for a place to live can be stressful but they made it easy. Now I'm moving back to England so unfortunately have to leave the place. Crown Management has picked one niche (beach area residential properties) and have impressively perfected their business model over the years. Their units are cheerful and well maintained. Unlike many other management companies, they keep much of their maintenance "in-house", which is one reason they are more responsive and competant with repairs then their competition. I've found them to be wonderfully responsive and professional. Like other business managers, they miss calls from time to time; but unlike many, they return them promptly and courteously. These guys are great. Most of their properties are in the beach areas, but my spot was an awesome 1 bedroom on bankers hill. I've dealt with every type of landlord possible (even taking a few to small claims) and it is incredibly refreshing to rent from a property management company that is full of genuinely good people. Property upkeep was great. Maintenance was always dealt with in a very timely manner. They never bugged me or hung around the property like some landlords do. Honestly, the best renting experience I've ever had. There was a crack in my door from what was either from an attempted robber (ahh the joys of living in the city!), or freak earthquake accident. I had completely accepted the fact that I'd probably be paying top dollar for it via my deposit. But to my amazement NO CHARGE! Any other property management company would have been salivating at the chance to gouge the crap out of me. These guys are a class act. Their customer service was brutal. I don't know where all the 5 stars came from. They were alright in the beginning but I had a slew of issues with them for months this year. The first issue came up when I was being relocated due to work. I called their number every other day for about a week and a half, leaving messages every time, and my call was never returned. Finally I put a note in our rent checks that I needed someone to call me ASAP. They finally called me after 2 and a half weeks of trying to get a hold of them. Their voice mail service is almost used as a call screener since when I had called them before for a repair they called back 5 minutes later to tell me they don't do any plumbing repairs, especially with the loud noise from the faucets. When we were told what we had to do to get out of the lease, which was just find people to sublet our apartment until the end of the lease, we began our search. We found two people who were very interested in moving in and were set to do so. Crown Management called the prospects on the 20th of the month to tell them there might be an issue with their application and to call back. The person who was going to move in called back 5 minutes later and their call was not returned for a week and a half as the manager left immediately after the phone call. When they did call back, we were told that their application was not accepted and we would have to pay rent for another month. We had already moved everything out of the apartment. Once we had found people to move in, we were told we should receive our deposit back in 30 days. 3 months later we still had not received it. I again began my process of calling every other day and our calls were returned after about 10 days. She said they had sent the deposit out, which made me wonder why they wouldn't have had any questions as to why we didn't deposit a check that was sent to us two months ago. Finally I am out and don't have to deal with them anymore and it feels like a relief. read more

On the positive side, Crown Mngmt is super responsive when it comes to maintenance or repair issues, even if it means them paying the plumber overtime to come that night. On the negative side, the management is extremely rude and hard to communicate with. The office manager is only in every few days, for periods of 1-3 hours at a time, and often discourages tenants from leaving messages, which leaves you calling every day to try and get in touch about rent, lease info, etc. Annoying! Not sure how many other jobs she's holding, but you definitely are made to feel like the last priority. With a landlord this hard to get a hold of, I would never recommend this management company to friends, coworkers, or strangers!!! read more

This management company sucks! I rented a studio from them located in Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach and they are they typical slum lords. They are almost never in the office, they are hard to get a hold of and any time you complain about something they throw it back in your face as if you are lying. I had to threaten to take them to small claims court in order to get my deposit back. I am sure glad I had taken pictures when I first moved in. They seem to focus on renting to students who are just here for awhile and don't care where and what they live in. Save yourself some problems and go somewhere else. read more
