The first time I went, I did one streak of highlight called a flash highlight (over 200$) to test the waters and it turned out great, so I came back expecting the same quality. This time was completely different. Paige double-booked another client and had her assistant handle most of my appointment. The assistant was extremely rough while washing my hair even after I repeatedly asked her to be gentle. She seemed annoyed that I said something and actually handed me the brush and said "do you want to brush it?" I shouldn't have to explain the same thing twice to her assistant when I already paid for a consultation to make sure this wouldn't happen. Paige barely checked in, didn't review my foils before they were rinsed, and my hair came out yellow and orange instead of the cool blonde I asked for. I didn't even get to choose the toner or discuss the results before being told by the assistant to pay. I also asked for thicker highlights and ended up with baby lights that looked uneven in tone. I walked out in tears and paid $265 for results that look like I used a bottle of Sun-In at home. I'm beyond frustrated and will not be going back. Letting an inexperienced assistant take over while charging full price is completely unacceptable.

Their policy is a 10-minute grace period, and I walked into the salon literally within the final 60 seconds of that window. They just kept repeating, "Well, it was 10 minutes, so we have to push your appointment," even though I was standing there within the stated grace period. At a certain point, I realized the conversation was going nowhere, so I stopped arguing and simply said I wouldn't be coming back--which is unfortunate, because I had been a consistent customer. And the cherry on top: they still charged me the cancellation fee. I completely understand having policies. I just think if your policy is 10 minutes, being there within those 10 minutes should count.

Life is meant to be LIVED! Since cancer in 2020, I have had neverending adjustments with my body and mind that I continue to have to accept and figure out. Nobody ever talks about the continued changes that your mind and body experience and endure AFTER the chemo, radiation, and surgery. I thought that it would all be "back to normal" afterwards....and yet here I am, almost 5 years since diagnosis, and I'm still adjusting. It's exhausting and annoying...and sad and hard. Being thrown into menopause well before my time and watching the changes that the continued cancer maintenance drugs cause has made me feel older than I'd like. My bones have deteriorated faster than normal, my hair is thin (and I LOVED my long thick hair!), my eye lashes and eye brows are thinner, I've gained weight, my hair is fully grey (which was super weird), my libido is non-existent, I am always tired and have no energy, my memory is awful and I STILL experience brain fog (super frustrating!). While watching myself change, I find myself avoiding mirrors. I dress frumpy and don't put on make-up unless I have to. I just kind of stopped trying. I used to love vacations because I could pamper myself, enjoy family time, let loose, and forget about things for a bit. Soon I'll be leaving for a vacation that we've had planned and purchased for two years now....to celebrate my 5th year out since diagnosis and our 25th wedding anniversary with my amazing husband! I don't want to be frumpy on this trip! I want to feel GOOD about myself while celebrating with my fam! Today, I made a choice to FORCE myself out of my comfort zone and do things to help me feel better. I booked a spray tan session, teeth whitening, and eye lash lift and tint sessions. I was terrified to be standing in my undergarments in front of a total stranger as she sprays all of my rolls and crevices. Before today, I have spent HOURS talking myself out of things out of fear of what others will think. But today, I pushed through the thoughts and just went with it. And you know what? I feel GREAT! Emily was THE SWEETEST, funniest, easiest person to work with and she made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed. She kept me giggling, even with that big plastic thingy in my mouth holding my lips open wide (dumbest I've ever looked in front of a total stranger). I will continue to try and make the best of who I am now and even have my next session in the books! Yes....its first world problems. But I wanted to share, in case anyone else is putting off living and embracing changes. Just go for it! And make sure you get someone like Emily to walk you through it...because I had a great time laughing at myself today AND...my smile looks radiant, my lashes are poppin, and my tan looks phenomenal, I must say! I feel like a million buck Emily and Hannah are TRUE professionals!

The young lady at the front desk went over everything for me. She was extremely nice, professional, and thorough. She made me feel welcomed and at ease. Time for the tan. It was exactly what I expected and rather quick. I got out of the booth, looked in the mirror, and the tanning solution was running down my stomach, creating some very noticeable patches. I asked the young lady (sorry that I forgot your name) if that was normal and showed her my stomach. She immediately got the spray tan technician (which you can pay extra for) to re-do my spray tan at no cost to me. Like the first, this young lady was super nice and professional. When you can make someone standing in the underwear with a botched spray tan feel good, then you are doing something right! My spray tan looks fabulous, and I can't wait to go back next month. As a business owner, I can say I would be proud to have these young women working for me. They did everything right and will have a repeat customer. This happened to me the first time I bought a package, it expired and I walked away noting next time I will use my tans before 30 days. I have bought a few packages since then. The last time I bought a package was in March 2020, I used 3/6 tanning sessions- then COVID hit and they had to close. When they reopened, I called and left a voicemail asking when my membership would expire. Nobody called me back for a couple weeks. I went into the salon and asked when my package expired - the girl said August 28th. I immediately put it in my calendar to use my tans before then. I went into the salon on August 14th and the girl working told me I had NOTHING on my account. I explained her the situation and she said someone would get back to me. 1.5 weeks later - nothing. So I call again and leave a voicemail. Nothing. I find their email on FB and email them. Finally I get someone to call me - after chasing around for 2 weeks - and her solution was that they could give me back one out of two sessions I did not get to use. I kindly asked if they could give back both sessions that I paid for and I heard nothing back. I emailed them a few more times, went into the salon to follow up, and still nothing back. The management continuously ignored me. This salon is NOT cheap. The price you pay is for a professional experience and Tropi Tan does not give professional quality. The employee made a mistake, like humans do, and Tropi Tan refused to give me (a long time client) back what I paid for. I do not recommend tanning here because Tropi Tan is not a customer driven establishment.

Our appointment was actually during happy hour which they have from Tuesday-Thursday 3p-7p so many of their services were discounted due to that. We did the facial bar with a friend option. The 4 of us (+2 employees) were the only ones in there so it was super peaceful and enjoyable. They explained our options to us and what the purpose of each step she was doing. For my 2 add-ons I choose high frequency and the cooling globes. I liked these a lot but I still want to try the rest of their add on offerings! Unfortunately, the customer service experience with ownership ultimately drove me (and several friends) away. The biggest issue is how inflexible and dismissive they are with customers regarding booking mistakes and billing issues. One example: I accidentally selected the wrong appointment date in their booking system. I realized it within minutes and immediately messaged the owner to correct it, but because the accidentally selected date was within 24 hours, the system locked me out from making changes myself. Rather than offering any grace or understanding, I was basically told I was out of luck and still charged. I completely understand having cancellation policies in place to protect appointment times. However, when a customer notices a simple mistake immediately, reaches out right away, and there are still multiple openings available for that date, the business has lost absolutely nothing. It feels less like protecting bookings and more like benefiting from customer errors. This apparently was not an isolated experience either. I know multiple people who had similar situations and felt brushed off rather than valued as longtime clients. I also personally experienced recurring issues with billing and automatic renewals/charges tied to the required credit card on file. After enough frustration, I finally decided to leave. It's unfortunate because the product itself is genuinely good. But eventually customer service matters just as much as the service being provided. I truly wanted to continue supporting this business, but it became clear that loyal customers were viewed as expendable rather than appreciated.
