Went to the store to get a suit for Easter. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a dapper gentleman named Ben who I believed turned out to be the AGM. He listened to my needs intently and helped me pick out the perfect suit. He then meticulously took my measurements and made sure that I would have it in time. We came to this suit supply to find a suit for my fiancé for the wedding. We came specifically because we wanted to find a high quality, stylish (a little different than a tradition look), and slim fit suit. This was our first fancy suit shopping experience, so we were anticipating feeling uncomfortable & out of place. Suit supply had a million selections, but what made the experience great was the staff. Ask for Lalique! She is the reason for the 5 stars. She was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful about the pieces she suggested, patient with our decision making, and made us (2 people very new to suit shopping) feel totally comfortable. She spoke honestly & didn't try to push us in any direction. She offered suggestions & we ended up learning a lot. The suit he ended up selecting is prefect. High-quality material in a stylish cut. This place was great. I had a very enthusiastic greeting from all staff as soon as I walked in the door. Benjamin Took excellent care of me. I had a specific style I was looking for and without Benjamin being too pushy on what I should buy he was very helpful, very patient, and had excellent style/taste. After going through a few options I ended up choosing the very first suit that Benjamin picked out for me. Knowing that I had a very special events in a very short amount of time Benjamin did everything he could to make sure that my suit was tailored Justin time for my event. I will definitely be returning to the store for future purchases and looking forward to Benjamin's help, although I'm sure any staff member in that store is more than qualified to provide equal service read more

I love Suit Supply for several reasons. First, it's beautifully merchandised and artistically presented, it's hard to walk out without making a purchase. I waited a few minutes until the store opened and then politely tapped on the glass after the store was scheduled to open for them to unlock the door. They didn't even look up. I was in need of a couple new staple suits and had heard a number of positive things about the quality and relative cost of SuitSupply from online reviewers. I had also heard mixed reviews on the in-store experience, which were at least initially validated. But, ultimately, thanks to Jordan at SuitSupply, I am now a loyal SS convert. I originally visited the store on a weekday afternoon, partly to avoid the notorious weekend rush. With the store quiet, I immediately was helped by a pleasant woman. I explained that I was looking for one or two suits to replenish my quickly deteriorating current wardrobe. She was helpful in sizing me and picking out some classic options, which I proceeded to try on. While I did so, she graciously made me a coffee, which was a very nice touch. While the suits fit, I decided I'd like to think about it before pulling the trigger, which I felt was a reasonable position considering I was about to potentially spend over $1,000. As soon as it became clear I was not purchasing suit right then and there, I sensed a marked change in her attitude. Bear in mind I had been there no longer than 15 minutes and the store was largely empty. I asked for her name and email so I could follow up directly with her in case she worked on commission, which she did provide. That evening, I emailed her to ask her a question about the suit and say I'd like to move forward on purchasing another. She did not respond, and after a week or so, I decided to simply order two suits online. When I received them, I decided to bring them back in to the store to be altered and give the in-store experience another shot. Man, am I glad I did. The second time around, I was greeted by Jordan, their rock star manager. He immediately offered to help and went above and beyond to make the experience a great one. After taking a look at the suits I had purchased online, Jordan asked me a few questions about what I needed them for, after which he worked with me to find a better solution for my situation, all with no sales pressure at all. At the end of the visit, I ended up returning both of the suits I originally bought and instead purchased a different color and cut he suggested that much better fit my needs. Additionally, it was altered within 24 hours, and when I went back and tried on the suit pants, he insisted the tailor make a slight adjustment on the spot to ensure the perfect fit. All in all, Jordan turned a middling customer experience into an outstanding one. In the interim, he has kept in touch with new store arrivals that he think I might like, and I will certainly be going back. Knocked off a star for the initial visit but I plan on amending this review to five if the service stays consistently good moving forward. Thanks, Jordan! Keep up the great work. read more

This place seems to have two distinct groups of Yelp reviewers: the lovers and the haters. That separation seems to be almost entirely based on their customer service experience here. In such cases, the people who get bad service are people that usually deserve it and they just cry about it (douches, jerks, socially incompetent, etc.) However, I'm none of those and most 1-start review I see are written by competent people. I shop at decent men's clothing stores all the time both in Tysons Galleria and Georgetown: Hugo Boss, jcrew, Saks, Nordstrom, etc. When I visit NYC, I'm sometimes at Barneys New York flagship store on Madison Ave. I get great customer service experience from EVERY SINGLE one of these stores. I don't think it's me. I walk in with my usual smile and try to make eye contact with the first person I see. They look away. I thought that was weird. Then I start looking at the suits they've got. I try one on and look myself in the mirror. At this point, if they were in business of selling suits, they would have approached me. That's how selling works. You engage with your customers. I notice there are lots of people walking around, some standing around pretending to be folding shirts. (Fast forward 5 awkward minutes) After failing to make successful eye contact with anyone (I think one person replied back to my "hi" then kept walking), I more or less stood in the direct way of a sales person walking to ask about a size that I needed for a particular style to finally get someone to help me. (Fast forward another 10 minutes) He was somewhat helpful but I could tell that he just wanted to get rid of me. He told me to get online to look at the suits and available sizes (I'm at the STORE to look at the suits) then I could call him when I find a suit they had in my size. Then he walked away without giving me his card. So... I don't know what it is. There were plenty of customers and they were being catered to well. They just ignored ME. Now, I never play the race card but that's the only thing I can think of. I was the only non-White customer at the store at the time. This is 21st century in the highly-educated, cosmopolitan, I-want-to-make-the-world-a-better-place city of DC. Suitsupply makes the world a slightly worse place and I wish it weren't doing business in my city. read more

I'm glad I was listening to NPR's "Fresh Air" the day they interviewed Tim Gunn of "Project Runway" fame who, when asked where he gets his suits, turned me on to SuitSupply (http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=271997689). After 15 years in the UNIX/IT world, a recent career change towards my passion in life required a new daily wardrobe. No longer working from home requires adherence to a stereotypical "professional" appearance these days. Fortunately, I discovered SuitSupply before I succumbed to the typical, humdrum, cookie-cutter offerings of most department stores and sale-of-the-season specialists like Jos. A. Bank and The Men's Wearhouse. As it turns out, "you get what you pay for." Prior to visiting SuitSupply in mid-July 2014, I bought a beautiful suit from Zara's summer collection for about $230. It got lots of compliments. In fact, when I wore it to set an example of what kind of suit I was looking for when I shopped Macy's for suits, the salesperson told me I wouldn't find such a nice looking suit there and suggested I might want to shop instead at Neiman Marcus. Little did he know that my Zara suit's good looks were only skin-deep: after 8+ hours of wear it often felt like a rubber suit because polyester and other man-made materials don't breathe. Tim Gunn's recommendation came to mind. After looking at SuitSupply's offerings online, I appreciated their stated quick (1-4 days) turnaround time for tailoring because it's done on their premises. I needed to purchase several suits and the typical go-to stores had two-week turnaround times for tailoring, which didn't work for me--especially in my "rubber" suit. So, I walked into SuitSupply's Georgetown store and was impressed by the extensive range of colors, patterns, textures, and fabrics available. When I asked a gentleman named Jared Bethune for his assistance, his professional demeanor and product knowledge made it quite clear that SuitSupply is the game-changer I was hoping for in my search for a wardrobe that would allow me to express my individuality while maintaining a sense of decorum. After several weeks of wearing my York-, London-, and Washington-cut suits, in a variety of climate-controlled and outdoor situations, all day long, I am a believer in the magic of 100% wool suits, especially from the Italian textile manufacturers who partner with the SuitSupply brand. Wool breathes. Its shape has a memory that can be unwrinkled easily. I can only surmise that wool's natural lanolin wax is the reason why my SuitSupply suit repelled several minutes of a heavy downpour of rain! Getting compliments on my new suits doesn't hurt, either, of course. The four suits I purchased averaged around $525 each, including tailoring, which in the Washington, D.C. area is a relative bargain for the variety of offerings, quality of service, and attention to details (e.g., a hidden button-fly hole for pants and working buttons/holes on coat sleeves) you'll find at SuitSupply. After conversing with Jared about my grey Washington-cut suit, it seems I may have gotten five suits for the price of four because he showed me how it can be worn as a modern take on the tuxedo: its peaked lapels and boxy silhouette lend themselves to pairing with utterly classic tuxedo accessories like a black bow-tie, pleated tuxedo shirt, black studs, and black patent-leather footwear. He also educated me about the damage dry-cleaning inflicts upon textiles and how the superior method of simple at-home steaming will prolong the life of my suits, especially when soil, stains, and odors are not present or detectable. Based on all my shopping experiences thus far, I cannot imagine going anywhere else but the highly focused SuitSupply when seeking a stylish and uncommon selection of very professional and formal clothing, at a fairly accessible price, especially with the added benefit of on-site tailoring. Sales Associate Jared Bethune's sartorial connoisseurship and enthusiasm both impressed and relieved me. Most certainly, the SuitSupply brand is my new favorite! read more

UPDATE: Their jackets bleed. Do not waste your money on low quality. They apparently give you a tiny warning somewhere near the price tag (hard to realize if you buy online like I did). The red Havana jacket bleed onto a Burburry shirt and they are refusing to replace the shirt. This is a company that does not stand behind their product nor have the quality to justify the prices. You would be much wiser to spend a little more on a designer. I completely agree with the horrible service comments. The staff is extremely condescending (especially the Indian guy). There is an African American male who is much better than the rest and I recommend asking him for help and ignoring the rest of the staff. If you are stuck with any of the other staff, figure out what you want, get your size and then buy it online. I have been to both the NYC and Chicago stores and they do NOT treat customers like the DC store does. read more

Don't waste your time at this location, especially if you have the bad luck of being "helped" by Franklin. My husband had an absolutely awful experience with this store. The service by Franklin was so thoroughly disappointing. He had ordered two suits and they were sent to the house. The sizing was way off so he went to the store again to get them swapped out for the right size. They didn't have one of the suits in the correct size, so Franklin recommended swapping both suits at the same time when the other suit came in for accounting ease. Franklin offered to put the ready suit on hold and call when the suits were ready. More than a week passed by and nobody called my husband, so my husband called and learned that the suit that Franklin supposedly put on hold was already put back on the shelf and was bought. Franklin obviously didn't put the hold tag and didn't even order the other suit! What kind of service is this?! Franklin was negligent, nonchalant, and oblivious when my husband returned for a third time to get his refund. There are so many suit places, that Suitsupply needs to be above par on their customer service. This is DC -- nobody has time to go back THREE TIMES to Georgetown, of all places, without a fitted suit! Don't waste your time at this location. read more

The sales associates here care more about selling a suit than taking care of the customer. Buyer beware. I was upping my suit game, had read great things about SuitSupply (that famed WSJ article...), and was excited to find a suit that worked on my smaller frame. When I went, the sales associate pulled out a suit that seemed to fit reasonably well in the shoulders but was too long in the body. The pants were also too tight. The salesperson told me these were easy problems to fix with a tailor, and even called over his manager to confirm. I didn't know any better, and they were both brimming with such confidence that I believed them. Big mistake. I had to try to get them to fix the tailoring on two occasions, but the pants remain too tight and the jacket remains too long. Another manager told me that shortening the jacket any further would throw off the proportions. I admit I was naive and had limited suit shopping experience at the time, but I can't help feel like I was also taken for a ride. A company that values its customers would have simply told me the truth--this suit wasn't right for me. The quality of the suits make them a good value for the price, but not if they sit in your closet collecting dust. If you go, make sure you know what you're doing. Don't trust what these guys have to say--they simply don't have your best interests at heart. read more

This is the first time I've left a review on Yelp, so that should tell you something. I stopped by the Georgetown location last Friday just to see what they had to offer. I typically buy my suits at Nordstrom or go the bespoke route, but was looking for something different, and was in a bit of a hurry to add a few suits. I was greeted by two or three associates, which was nice, but then had to give quite a bit of info just to be paired with someone to see some suits. I picked out two, one of which was missing the trousers. I asked the associate how they were priced and was told they are priced as a set (coat and trousers). The prices were decent for off-the-rack suits, and the quality looked good, so I thought I would give them a try. I was measured, the missing trousers were ordered, I paid, and was on my way. I was not shown the receipt at POS, but the email receipt arrived on my way home. I noticed I was charged extra for the pants, contrary to what the associate said regarding pricing. A few days later, I received a text and email saying that the trousers arrived and the alterations were complete on the other suit. I ventured back to the store, explained the discrepancy with the pricing, and just decided to pass on the suit (could have picked up a good Ted Baker suit for that price). Moreover, the trousers were the wrong size (attributed to a "warehouse error"). The associate offered to refund the price of the trousers, which I wasn't expecting, but it was a nice gesture, so I decided to keep it. He dug in the back and found another pair, which actually fit better (note that waist sizes are a bit off with these suits - I wear a 35/36 and could barely button the 38 that came with the 44L coat) and then marked it for altering and told me that both suits should be ready in a few days (the other suit was not altered correctly). So, I just returned this afternoon to find that the new trousers were not hemmed at all. Frustrating since I don't live just right around the corner. At any rate, they altered the trousers while I waited 15 minutes or so, and when I brought up the pricing issue with the associate who initially helped me, she countered by saying that she explained the price on the coat tag was the "set price", meaning that they are priced separately. This made no sense, so I just dropped it. I left three stars because I want to give the suits a chance to exceed the treatment I received in the store. One bit of advice is don't try to be trendy with offers of water, coffee and beer, but rather, focus on attention to detail. read more

I have a lot of friends who buy Suit Supply, so I went in to see what they had to offer. Couldn't have had a worse experience. While there were a lot of simple problems like the awful colors/patterns or the mismatched sizes on the racks, it was the service that really left me disappointed. There was one great suit that stood out, and it happened to be one of the most expensive. I must have stood in the middle of the room for 5-10 minutes, with their most expensive item in hand, trying to get the attention of an employee to give me some help. I finally had to follow one of them into the back room to get their attention. He was very curt with me about sizing, and before I could even ask him to set me up in the fitting room, he saw one of his friends come in and immediately ignored me to start talking to him. I promptly put the over-priced, no name suit back on the rack and walked over to Hugo Boss, where I received 1-on-1 attention and bought a superior suit for less than I would have paid at Suit Supply. I bought a suit from suit supply about a year ago. It fit well and looked nice. I was happy. The suit fell apart about 3 months ago. The fabric became threadbare under the arms and around the top of the legs. I was shocked at the bad quality given Suit Supply's reputation. I've had cheaper suits and nicer suits that lasted far longer under similar wear, so when this suit started to fall apart I was surprised. I am angry. I contacted Suit Supply about this and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. I suspect this problem is common since the customer service representative was very specific about Suit Supply having a no-help policy once the customer buys the suit. I am never shopping at Suit Supply again. read more

Today, visiting Suitsupply DC was such a wonderful and pleasant experience. More-so than my two previous purchasing experiences at Suitsupply DC. Victoria Devoll has all the charm of a sincere southern texan belle, quite refreshing for the DC area. Victoria was so knowledgeable - she truly is the utmost professional - not once did she compromise her professional approach when working with me. She was so gracious and hospitable; it didn't feel like a business transaction but more like visiting an old friend's home. She offered me coffee, tea and water. Every instruction and update she gave me was so descriptive. The other staff members were courteous; each one of them smiled and greeted me. I purchased a black Sienna suit that was perfectly tailored to fit my physique. I walked away feeling great about this purchase. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend Suitsupply DC and Victoria Devoll, you will not be disappointed. read more

Worst experience ever. After hearing rave reviews about the product offerings here, I decided that my next suit would be from Suitsupply. I was slightly put off by the bad reviews about customer service being an issue here, but assumed the store's management would have worked to address these issues. My experience was no different from others who have posted here, which largely motivated me to write this review. Walking into the store, I was greeted by a shop assistant who asked me if I knew what I was looking for. I told the gentleman the size and color suit I was looking for and he told me that he would find someone to help me right away. I stood awkwardly for 5-10 minutes before he came back and handed me off to someone else, who said, "I'll be helping you today but I'm going to be jumping between you and another customer right now." Fair enough -- I can find my way around the store, just show me where to look. After being shown my section, she had me try on a jacket for size and asked me to find the color I was looking for on the clothes rack, before walking away. I found the colors I wanted, but waited at least 10 minutes before another store attendant asked me if everything was ok. "The lady helping me walked off to help someone else, but she hasn't come back. I need help with sizing and tailoring options." She told me that there wouldn't be a problem and that she could help right away. After five minutes, another customer came up to ask a question and she was gone. I waited another 5 minutes before deciding to leave. I have never felt less valued as a client -- particularly at some store where the quality is questionable. In Neiman's or Saks, store attendants act with some aloofness, but I've never been dumped repeatedly by store attendants like that before. The customer service here was absolutely terrible, especially when I'm expecting to spend at least $650-$1000 on one item. I will NEVER bother to go back for a second try. Suitsupply lost a potential customer simply because of its terrible customer service. I hope the store management will take these reviews seriously and either engage in better training practices or hire more store attendants. read more

The quality of the suit, ft, and store ambiance cannot be matched in DC given some of the options. That said, anyone looking for a quality suit at this price point should look elsewhere. The overall incompetence, rudeness, and general lack of attention to detail when it comes to the customer service experience is outrageous. I give it an amused two stars. I went in to look for cufflinks and accessories for a friend. It just so happened that I was coming in out of the rain, so I had my Hunter rainboots on and was a bit wet. I don't think I looked like a total rube or yokel, but I was treated like that by the staff. I asked to look at cufflinks, and the sales associate pointed me to their selection and followed it up with "and we also have silk knots for $10." I asked to see your cufflink selection, not to see silk knots. But okay. I then asked if they had an online catalog with a greater selection. He mentioned that they had a website, and also, when I left the store, I could grab a newspaper and hold it over my head to keep out the rain. Are you kidding?? I was kind of amused, so I laughed it off and said "wow, do I really look that bad?" Kind of amazing. Dear young people working at Suit Supply--yes, I was wet from the rain and my hair was probably a bit disheveled. But using that as a reason to judge me and the price point I'm comfortable with was hilarious incorrect. You lost a customer who would have been willing to spend a lot of money at your store, but will now go back to Pink and Charles Tyrwhit. Nice knowing you! Also, the cufflink and wallet selection was incredibly limited. I'm unimpressed with both the customer service and their accessories selection. read more

I normally go to the SS store in Philly when I'm looking to get a quick off the rack suit. The product really does speak for itself on these suits. The quality is extraordinary at this price point ($500-$1,000). Half canvassed constructions are the standard, and even full canvassed suits are available on their higher end lines. The fabric options of their off the rack suits are comparable to the ones you'd find at a mid-range bespoke tailors. They offer a ton of different fits/sizes, lapel options, and ticket pockets. I also think that most people appreciate the functioning buttons sleeve buttons that come on every suit (sleeve alterations are still possible as long as you're not shortening by more than an inch). Overall I have almost no complaints on the product (except the peak lapels on some of their suits are a bit over-sized). So why the two star review for this store? The service is ridiculously bad at this location. I visited the store this past weekend. to return a suit I had ordered online, and to purchase a few new suits for the fall. I spent about fifteen to twenty minutes trying on various jackets, without a single sales person approaching me to ask if I needed any help. I had a few questions on the alterations that their in house seamstress would be able to perform, in order to correct a slight divot in my lower chest. This is a pretty common alteration for my jackets, since my left chest is slightly larger than my right (Ms. Lee at Georgetown Alterations Express has done this masterfully for me on several of my suits). After realizing that none of the sales people would approach me first, I flagged one down to ask him the questions I had about in-store alterations. He explained to me that the particular bit of tailoring I was looking for couldn't be completed by their tailor, and to go with their made to measure option. And soon after saying that he disappeared right back into the store. At this point I figured I would just buy something, and take it to my own tailor who I knew could complete the alteration, as she's performed it on the other SS suits I've purchased. I went into a fitting room to try on the pants, as SS pants are known for being very slim fitting. Luckily the three pants I tried on fit great, and I was ready to purchase all three suits. While putting on my own pants, I heard through the door one of the SS salesman lecturing my friend about being in the wrong fitting room. Apparently the fitting rooms we were in was reserved for their Made to Measure customers only. Clothiers that offer separate rooms for MTM customers never make the mistake of not having these reserved areas fenced off or clearly marked. I ended up putting the three suits back on the rack, completing my return, and promptly left the store. I'll continue to shop at the SS store in Philly. The customer service between these two stores is as different as night and day. In the Philly store I'm greeted promptly at the door, and there is always a sales person in the different sections of the store during their busiest times willing to take the initiative to make sure I'm being helped, and that I'm properly hydrated (they're quick to offer water and coffee). In the DC store the only initiative they took with servicing me, was to flash my friend and I some derision for wandering into a empty reserved fitting area. If you can't make it to the Philly store, Enzo's in the area does some awesome MTM stuff in the SS price range. read more

Makes more sense to just purchase what you want online, and if it needs tailoring, take it to your local tailoring. Also, their tailoring is not that cheap. Taking two stars off because the manager here's as clueless as he is ill-mannered. First time I was here, he brushed past me as I tried to ask a question. Second time I was here, at the end of checkout, he came in out of the blue and looked into my bag as the associate and I were wrapping up, in a way you'd check the pockets of an unruly kid to make sure he wasn't shoplifting from a 7-11, and left without a single word. Calm down brah, the only indecent occurrence here is you. And now the good stuff! The clothing is top-notch. Good material and solid constructions. The patterns are beautiful, and the fit keeps me honest with my diet. The store could be better lit though- the areas around mirrors are oddly dark, not unlike a college club, and it took some creative maneuvering of mirrors to see what the clothing looked like in proper lighting. Candice, bless her heart, is an awesome person to consul, telling you straight what works and what doesn't. This is one of those places where both the good and bad reviews are true: walk in expecting a French welcome and you won't be disappointed by the quality clothing here. read more

Let me start by saying they I love their suits - accessible quality, great price, sharp details. But... Customer service is terrible and unprofessional. I recently purchased two suits here, and being in no rush, allowed 2 days for tailoring. On the first day after purchase I received an email telling me one of the two suits was finished, I decided to wait to see if a second email showed up. It never did. When I called in to ask about the status of second suit I was told it was ready too and moments later received an email to that fact. So I trekked across town in a cab on my lunch hour only to be told that only one suit was ready and I would need to wait an hour or so for the second set of alterations. When I explained that I had to get back to work and couldn't wait I was told I could come back that night. When I explained that I wasn't going to trek to the opposite end of town - at my expense - for a second time in the same day, after I had been told to come in - the salesperson at the front finally offered to ship the suit to me. That's great - but I basically had to fight for that resolution and not once was there an apology offered - I was basically made to feel that their mess up was my problem/fault. When I asked how long it would take the suit to arrive I was told it would ship that night and be delivered the next day. This mattered because I was leaving for vacation and didn't want the suit sitting in a box while I was gone. It turns out the suit didn't arrive until the following Tuesday! So a week later when I returned from vacation my brand new suit came out of the box as a wrinkled mess - and I immediately had to take it to get pressed. We ordered all the groomsmen suits from several different locations. When we came to the Georgetown store, DANIELLE (great name) was able to collect all the information, resize several suits, ship across the US, and change the color for us. That day was extremely busy and with our complicated order, we thought for sure, something would go wrong in the cross hairs. That DID NOT HAPPEN. I was recommended by a former employee who was helping me at Saks; he suggested I purchase a custom shirt at Suit Supply since the shirt would cost 2X at Saks. He gave me the names of two employees who work that that he highly recommended. I walked into Suit Supply and asked for X and Y employees. Y was out that day, and I was told there were two people with name 'X.' The manager called over one of the people named 'X' and told him that I came here to see 'X' - the employee said I'm pretty sure he wanted to see the other 'X'. Manager responded: "yeah that's what I thought, but you're free, so you help him." The employee that ended up helping me was not helpful at all - couldn't answer any of my questions or my fiance's questions and instead responded with "you can check that out on our website." read more

Suit seems fine. Flashy store on the surface, extremely poor service, nice suit. The decent value of the suit does not justify the horrible customer service. Business model is great in structure but the execution misses the mark. For example, I assume their idea is to provide personalized service while the customer sips a fresh brewed espresso in a crisp setting with pleasant music in the background. None of this came together in either of my two visits. Espresso machine sat idle, the store was overcrowded, the employees were overworked, trying to juggle multiple customers at the same time. After over three weeks I finally received a call the suit was ready. Upon pick up they had apparently misplaced the suit and to their credit noticed their error when the rep attempted to hand me a 46 (my suit was a 40). After nearly an hour of them searching while I stood idle with no idea what was happening behind the curtain, they brought out my suit. The suit fit "just okay" and when I said the length was too long they said "it's just a more conservative look." Yeah, I know it's a more conservative look; more conservative than I desire, which is why I'm saying something. At this point I decided I'd prefer to pay my own tailor if I could escape the store. I was polite the entire time, allowing the staff ample opportunity to make things right. In the end, 1.5 hours later, I received my suit and a weak apology. By the way, if I had to make an educated guess, they make their money on that shirt you decide to buy after dropping the wad on the suit. Much better value shirts and service at other nearby stores in town. Don't fall for this sales tactic. read more

Was initially skeptical because of some poor reviews on yelp, but had an excellent experience -- suits are hip and high quality, staff was amazing (objective and knowledgeable), and alterations were just right. Had a far better experience than with the traditional suit shops I've been to, and for less money. Planning to return in a couple of weeks for another one. read more

Heard a lot of complaints on here about customer service but that was not my experience. I have been in here twice in the past week and had excellent customer service both times. I had no clue about fits, colors, seasonal appropriate items, various textured items...but I was educated all the way through. Suits are reasonably priced ~$700. I've always been able to find a suit that fits me in the shoulders but they end up looking boxy on me without getting them tailored but the athletic cut suits they have fit me right off of the rack. The clothes were also all extremely comfortable. Highly recommend coming in! Also nights and weekend seem to get busy so they recommended coming in during the day, if possible. I did also have to get my pants hemmed, which took a few hours...I was able to walk around Georgetown while it was getting done though. read more

Pros - The selection is good, the prices are competitive (used to be better), and the suits fit very well for OTR (as long as you are ok w/ a 6" drop for the pants) Cons - The location is kind of out of the way and the staff are all disinterested and condescending and will treat you like a country yokel (judging by the local clientele I can't say I blame them) Final Verdict - Decent, but not a destination site. I had a wonderful experience at SuitSupply in Georgetown. I am an extremely thin man, and a lot of stores don't even carry (or make to "measure") suits in my size. Jordan, the rep helping me, sized me properly (star number one) and then presented me with a range of fabric and style options. I wasn't sure which I liked, so we were able to put one suit that was in stock at the store on hold and order another from a warehouse (star number two). While I was waiting for the second suit to come in, I was able to correspond with Jordan via e-mail about a good time to come in (star number three) for fitting. This was a welcome change from stores where you basically go in with a faint prayer that your preferred or original salesperson will be there and that the store won't be too crowded. Upon the second suit's arrival, I went for fitting. Again, SuitSupply trains their employees well in sizing and fitting, so for once in my life we were actually working with my size and shape, not someone three sizes bigger that the salesperson had been told was the "smallest you can go." Jordan was great through this whole process (star number four), including when I decided I would like the suit we originally put on hold instead of the one I had ordered from elsewhere. Tailoring took about three days, and then back to the store (again checking with Jordan via e-mail about a good time) for a final fitting and check. No surprise--after all the care, it fit better than just about anything I've tried on (star number five). If you're looking for a good suit in the $500-$750 range, try SuitSupply. Working with one salesperson and not being shuffled from one to another was definitely appreciated, and so was the ability to correspond with my sales rep about progress and good times to come in. The consensus of reviewers is that Suitsupply has great suits at a reasonable price combined with terrible customer service. I can confirm the first half of this--I got a great suit at a reasonable price. Within 5 minutes of entering the store, I was helped by Jorge, who helped me try on several different suits, explained the differences among the options, and measured to make sure it would fit me well. I'm not sure why there is so much hate on the staff here..I stopped in here a couple of months ago, as I needed a new suit for a funeral. I was approached right away and asked if I needed help, and they had no issues assisting me right away. They had a limited amount of black suits, which was a little disappointing, but I found one that I absolutely love. They have some really decent quality material for a very affordable price. Leagues above mens warehouse and jos a bank. This is definitely a place worth checking out if you need a new suit, however my next one I will probably have tailed from enzo's. read more

I'm confused with the poor reviews for Suit Supply. I was a fan of the NYC store and have recently moved back to DC. Since then, I've bought 2 suits and had one custom made here. The store is gigantic with a fun selection of business and business casual wear. Their prices are fantastic and the quality is top notch. Service was great as well. Overall, I can't think of another place that's better in DC to get a made-to-measure suit or off the rack. Especially considering all their clothing is trendy and well fitted. read more

I bought one their off the rack suits and was quite please with it. The lady working was helpful and kind. After this experience I decided to get a made to measure suit. Zach the tailor or more appropriately the guy who measured me was snappy and knew his stuff. A couple of points on the made to measure, first, it is not bespoke, they have pre-made patterns which are "measured" to fit you. Second the selection of patterns, fabrics, lining, and buttons (mostly plastic) is pretty limited. Now for the story begins, after 8 week I got a call saying my suit was ready and that I should come in for a second fitting. The second fitting went off well, during the fitting I pointed out the fabric on the right lapel was ruffled and crunched together and also the area around the pocket was wrinkled. The attendant, Chris, said he would take care of that and it would be perfect when I come to pick it up. A few days later I went to pick it up, I tried it on and it fit perfectly. The other crunched up lapel and wrinkles were still present.. The attendant Chris, while bagging the suit said he would steam it real quick. Once I got home and opened the bag the issues were still there. The next morning I called Chris and brought it to his attention, he said should come in. When I went it and showed it him, his first response was that fabric was like that. I owned many suit including bespoke suits and have never seen a brand new suit like that, I pointed this out to him and also asked him if he could show a suit in the store that has similar attributes. At this point he said he would take some pictures and send it to his colleagues to see what they recommend. He said would call in a week. I waited a week and no call, after one more day I called and spoke to Chris. He said that hadn't heard back from his people and that he would call me back in couple more days. During this last wait, Zach, the guy who measured me emailed to see how things are going, I relayed to him the whole story. Then a few days later I got an email from Chris with pictures of the suit, which looked as a new suit should wrinkle free and smooth fabric. Zach was gracious enough to apologize, Chris wasn't. Overall, it was a PIA, had to wait longer and make a couple extra trips to store, and also was stressed. Will I go back? NEVER. Do I recommend getting a made to measure suit from them? NO. You're better off saving up an extra 1000 bucks and getting a bespoke suit from a proper tailor. read more

Don't buy shoes! Great suits, shirts, and ties but don't buy the shoes. I purchased a pair of Brown Derby and within only a month I've had to get several nicks repaired. I'm not rough on my shoes as I've had several pairs of Edmonds over the years and I've never had this problem which is the leather used on the Derby as told to me by my cobbler. However told by the sales person that these nicks that take out pieces of the leather happens. No it shouldn't happen unless I'm kicking my desk all day! So I'll continue to buy clothing but never again, shoes for me. read more

Suits looked great. Relatively slim and fashion forward but if you are reading this you probably know that already. I came in here on a Saturday afternoon after hearing about how great their suits are. After at least 10 minutes of being totally ignored by staff, during which time I tried on about 8 suit jackets on my own while trying to muddle through the different cuts, I got fed up. I left and walked a few blocks to another store, where I spent $900 on a suit. If suitsupply had bothered to do the bare minimum to attract a new customer they would have had one. Oh well. read more
