    Hushpuppies
    Scottie S.

I can't rave enough about our waitress! She explained dishes and gave the best recs. The hushpuppies were yummy, especially with the honey butter. Holy crap the Celery Salad though... weirdest flavors but delicious! I would order the sicilian crudo 100 times over. The crab toastada was light & refreshing and the crab was PACKED. The fish and grits was good flavor but the fish (cobia) was my first time eating, and a little tough for my liking.

When we want really great seafood but zero pretense- we head straight for Sullivan Fish Camp. Come as you are with lots of comfortable seating options and a great bar. Old school favorites and brand new instant favorites. Fish sandwich, Oysters,Daily Catch, Epic Lobster Roll, and a crab tostada you will dream about. Until it demands a return trip. Finish off with a soft serve sundae or the perfect key lime pie. Bring the kiddos. Wear your flip flops. But expect food as good as anywhere downtown. Service was perfect balance of friendly and efficient with great suggestions. Atmosphere is old school perfection of memories and vacations and good times. Great wines by the glass with a generous pour.

Sullivans is a nice place in a great location on Sullivans Island. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 little ones for an early dinner. We had reservations, so were seated quickly in a comfortable booth. Service was good and we were pretty well taken care of. The hush puppies were pretty good. It has a very small menu, and nothing at all caught my eye. I ended up with a fried fish sandwich with fries. The fish was exceptionally thin and small. Reminded me of McDonald's. $350 with a nice tip, seems a bit high, even for Sullivans Island. I wouldn't seek this place out again.

Melón ceviche in leche de tigre--you'll want to drink the juice at the end!

This was a fun dining experience. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We were asked by many staff if everything was ok Chef Jason Stanhope shows true love for the food and menu that he crafts. The ceviche wraps a very unique and perky taste with melon and leche de Tigre--a Peruvian inspired ceviche. The creamed corn under the red snapper was delightful. My favorite part of the meal was the fish collar tacos. They had a nice char singe to them with excellent flavor and a decent amount of meat. But the pico de gallo was the kicker. Also, the middlins rice with benne seeds enveloped a flavor I've never had in a simple rice dish before. The walnut cookie was a great finisher to a delicious meal. An overall upscale version of a fish camp style of a restaurant. A very unique place on Sullivans with incorporation of historically relevant foods with local Ingredients. Give it a try!

Sullivan's Fish Camp is a true gem on Sullivan's Island with just a short walk from the beach and perfect for everything from a casual lunch to a dressed-up dinner. The space has a fun retro island vibe with a layout that works for any mood: a few cozy outdoor tables, a big central bar, comfy booths, and plenty of standard tables inside. I tried the catch of the day (red snapper), the spicy tuna and rice bowl, and the al pastor fish tacos. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. On top of all that, the service was exceptional and intentional. You can tell they care about the details and want you to enjoy your time there.

Lobster roll, needs a pickle and maybe some Coleslaw
    Sara R.

Cute ambiance. Very average food-- for the price. The best thing ordered was the lobster roll, that was 4 stars. The bread got soggy quick though! And no pickle, only fries or chips as a side-- still $34. The kids food items were all $16 for items like a grilled cheese, burger chicken fingers etc. $4 oysters, each. They were good but pricey. The hush puppies were way too over fried and salty- I've had much better, we sent back. Overall I'd go for the vibe, maybe a drink or two and some oysters but the mostly fried food really isn't worth price tag to me.

The Hungry Detective and Special Agent Deirdre had a great experience Saturday night at Sullivan's Fish Camp!!! We always like to sit at the bar and as usual, we got some great conversation and service from our bartender bartenders Zach and Cheyenne!!!! The food: we had the hamburger and the lobster roll, also known as "ghetto surf and turf"... Both were good tasting and wonderful just the right amount of bun to beef and lobster ratio on both!!! Cocktail's: Made us the perfect shaken martini with three olives... Just the way we like it and then straight out of Compton...Cheyenne made us the most incredible old-fashioned... She is a true mixologist and bourbon rockstar... Being from Kentucky and the Bourbon Trail she knows her stuff. Needless to say it was the best old-fashioned I've had in Charleston!!! VERDICT: Guiltu as sin for serving up excellent cocktails, and tremendous food simple into the point...

I ate half of this prior to taking the pic. Seafood boil

My visit to Fish Camp was amazing! Great food and great service! My friend made reservations, and I got to visit. With a snafu from ordering and the kitchen getting the order electronically, we were compensated well for the late food. The restaurant manager Cheyenne took good care of us and was very apologetic. I ordered the seafood boil, and I got an appetizer with small crab claw bites. Both were wonderful and full of flavor. I had one of the best key lime pies ever. Had a great bold flavor unlike many that are so mild. The menu had some great seafood options that seemed different than what you often find at a seafood restaurant. Ex. I didn't see clam chowder, but I did see the seafood boil! Go try this place - won't be disappointed!

The worst food and mixed drinks I have ever had. They rep[laced the drink and it was just as bad as the first one. Prices were outrageous.

We were setted promptly and given a great waiter-Chris. He was accommodating. He made a few recommendations/ favorites of his own. The food came out fast and was very good. Everything was seasoned and hot. The ambiance was one of a seafood establishment. The seating and environment was just fine. We really picked a great location to eat.

There's something about the name "Acme" and good seafood when it comes to coastal restaurants…read more Along the Gulf, you think of Acme Oyster House. On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.
