I can't believe it took us this long to come here. We ordered way too much food, but there was so much we wanted to try. Started with oysters which were fabulous. They are served with a mignonette, which isn't my favorite, I should have asked for cocktail sauce z but I just slurped them down "naked" and they were fabulous. We also had the hushpuppy tots - the butter these come with is the perfect compliment. Hubs had the Sullivan fried platter, so good, it includes fried green tomatoes - YUM! And coleslaw that reminds me of Jewish delis from my childhood, but finely shredded. I had the fish tacos which were swordfish today, the salsa on there is perfect with the fish. Cocktails were good and if you've ever been to the BVI, the best painkiller that's not there, they even use Pusser's Rum. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. read more

Came here for brunch with the entire family, 9 of us. We ordered the following : Smoked fish dip Celery Salad (wow) Oysters on the half shell, 2 dozen. We have been to Sullivan's three times, and its been a very mixed experience. The one constant is service that is often slow or poorly timed with the bar service being the biggest issue. There is a lot to love about this restaurant - location, an upscale/beachy/comfortable vibe and food that can be exceptional. We are big fans of the sister restaurant Post House where we regularly visit. It is a tale of two restaurants. The Post House executes with precision, service is exceptional and the food is unwaveringly wonderful. Not the same with Sullivan's Fish Camp. Execution inconsistent - On one visit, our food took 45 minutes (was 2/3 full at best and no-one outside) - We were given fries gratis in recognition of the wait. Even at that visit at the bar, it took too much time to get our drinks. A recent visit (3/11/26), it took 20 minutes to get our drink order, and our food arrived shortly after. The server was attentive and mostly sympathetic, but sort of dismissed it as normal. The principle reason for the 3 rating is a service rating of 2 over these visits. The food is generally exceptional. For this dinner, we had their roasted squash which was absolutely amazing. They were out of a few dishes. We had a special tile fish on a root purée and an arugula and mushroom topping that was exceptional... but just warm at best. Execute. Food could be a 5, but it is a 4. I swapped the fries for a side salad and it was fresh and perfectly balanced. The surprise favorite? The hush puppy tots with whipped butter -- a combo I didn't know I needed and a delicious treat. Lauren at the bar is fantastic. She recommended the Nine Lives cocktail (I had the lite version), and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've had anywhere. We had reservations, so were seated quickly in a comfortable booth. Service was good and we were pretty well taken care of. The hush puppies were pretty good. It has a very small menu, and nothing at all caught my eye. I ended up with a fried fish sandwich with fries. The fish was exceptionally thin and small. Reminded me of McDonald's. $350 with a nice tip, seems a bit high, even for Sullivans Island. I wouldn't seek this place out again. read more

This was a fun dining experience. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We were asked by many staff if everything was ok Chef Jason Stanhope shows true love for the food and menu that he crafts. The ceviche wraps a very unique and perky taste with melon and leche de Tigre--a Peruvian inspired ceviche. The creamed corn under the red snapper was delightful. My favorite part of the meal was the fish collar tacos. They had a nice char singe to them with excellent flavor and a decent amount of meat. But the pico de gallo was the kicker. Also, the middlins rice with benne seeds enveloped a flavor I've never had in a simple rice dish before. The walnut cookie was a great finisher to a delicious meal. Started out the New Year with brunch before the Polar Plunge. I initially wanted the Warm Buttered Lobster Roll, but I asked the server if it had mayo on it and he said yes so I opt'd for the Al Pastor Fish Tacos. They were good, but hard to eat as the shells kept falling apart. My friend ordered the Lobster Roll, and I was disappointed to find out it did not have any mayo it and I would have enjoyed it. And no pickle, only fries or chips as a side-- still $34. The kids food items were all $16 for items like a grilled cheese, burger chicken fingers etc. $4 oysters, each. They were good but pricey. The hush puppies were way too over fried and salty- I've had much better, we sent back. We always like to sit at the bar and as usual, we got some great conversation and service from our bartender bartenders Zach and Cheyenne!!!! The food: we had the hamburger and the lobster roll, also known as "ghetto surf and turf"... Both were good tasting and wonderful just the right amount of bun to beef and lobster ratio on both!!! My visit to Fish Camp was amazing! Great food and great service! My friend made reservations, and I got to visit. With a snafu from ordering and the kitchen getting the order electronically, we were compensated well for the late food. The restaurant manager Cheyenne took good care of us and was very apologetic. I ordered the seafood boil, and I got an appetizer with small crab claw bites. Both were wonderful and full of flavor. I had one of the best key lime pies ever. Had a great bold flavor unlike many that are so mild. The menu had some great seafood options that seemed different than what you often find at a seafood restaurant. Ex. I wish I had taken pictures of what was supposed to be a beet salad. It wasn't anything like the picture (that I looked up on their website after). I feel as though Cracker Barrel would've done a better job. The entire plate was orange and looked like a diner plate from a cliche movie, orange beets topped with oranges that were dry, and then orange rinds. The food is overpriced ($45 for a lobster roll with potato chips???). The wine by the glass list was minimal. The whole experience gave me the impression that something is off in the kitchen, plates were sloppy, food was subpar (they subbed broccoli for the okra in the lowcountry boil??), the fries weren't even salted, overall not impressed. While we had a very nice young waitress that was fast, communicative, the food was very disappointing for the price tag. The fish and shrimp combo was very bland and had nothing special. The special was ok but nothing worth the visit. Kids did not enjoy their meals (chicken was spicy and cheeseburger overcooked). On top of that we sat by the window which had lots of dead flies and one bug that looked like a beetle started crawling by my kids which were scared by it. My parents, who I miss dearly, listed Sullivan's Fish Camp as their very favorite restaurant whenever they visited IOP with friends. So when I was vacationing recently, I made sure to make reservations for dinner one night. Inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and feels upscale casual and happy. Everyone we interacted with, from hostess to servers, were super friendly and helpful. I selected the Fish & Chips, and they were without a doubt the best I've ever had. A large fillet, with the lightest breading. My friend has Celiac and chose the Rainbow bowl, with a side of greens. Our server was so helpful in helping figure out the various gluten free options. This place is literally for tourists. Overpriced for subpar food. We went at the height of summer.. in July and paid 260 dollars before tip for 7 adults and two small children. Finally made it here and were so glad we did. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and they were dog friendly providing a pup cup and water bowl which we greatly appreciated! The staff were attentive and very friendly. The cocktails were also great - we loved the frozen beet margarita. Our server let us sample before committing which we also appreciated. We struggled to pick off the menu, everything caught our eye. We started with the hush puppies and truffle fried shrimp. Both great. The shrimp were smaller but there were a decent amount of them. For our meal we got the swordfish tacos, butternut squash soup, shaved green salad and lobster special. All were fresh and unique. The salad might honestly have been my favorite bite of the night with the squash soup a close second. We really loved everything. We finished off with some ice cream to go. On a busy Saturday I was lucky to score a seat at the bar. The place was lit and lively. Busy and staffs working at full speed. Both of the beautiful bartenders were attentive to what I needed. I order the pool boy drink: 4/5. Coconut water with pineapples juice, vodka and something else. It was good. Baked oysters 10/5 stars. Baked oysters with horseradish, lemon and butter topped with panko. It was delicate and comforting at the same time. I snorted all 6 within 5 mins. Main course: fish and chips 5/5 local catch with house made coleslaw and fries. The fried fish was very nice. Crispy batter but not heavy. The fish was very well seasoned. The coleslaw was really good. But it was warm. I got scared. So I didn't finish. Didn't want to catch food poisoning. I truly enjoyed the ambiance. Nice crowd. Known to the locals and tourist.
