Shrimp & Grits
Jessica B.

Very cute place! Good food too! My husband and I came in for lunch before going to the beach. I ordered the shrimp & grits. It was the BEST shrimp & grits I've had since moving to SC earlier this year. It had a soupy texture but the flavor was excellent! I'd come back here just to get this meal again, that's how good it was! I would definitely recommend checking this place out while on Sullivan's Island :)

We were in the mood for some sushi & fresh seafood and decided to check out The Longboard Restaurant located on Sullivan's Island. It was around four in the afternoon and to our delight they serve lunch until 5pm and also had Happy Hour specials. It is absolutely gorgeous in here. A beautiful space with coastal decor. Ideal for large groups & holiday makers. I strongly suggest making a booking in high season. I've seen the lines down the street in the height of summer. The dishes were absolutely delicious fresh & beautifully presented. Saylor was our server and she was attentive without being obtrusive, knowledgeable & helpful with the menu. She made our entire experience so much more enjoyable. Parking can be difficult on Sullivan's but The Longboard is definitely worth the hassle.

Beautiful decor, nice ambiance! DJ on the deck outside. No lunch menu on weekends but solid brunch options and impressive raw bar!

Went here with my family of 5 the night I moved in to Charleston! It is in such a cute spot on Sullivans island, walking distance to the beach and an ice cream shop and has the CUTEST coastal beachy vibe inside that was perfect after just moving to the beach. Our service was great, everyone was very friendly and helpful! She had great drinks recommendations and I loved my cocktail. The most disappointing aspect of this place was the food. We ordered a good amount of different things and everyone tried each others. The resounding response from everything we tried was that it was so SALTY. There were multiple items we couldn't even eat due to the salt. I can't remember the last time we had inedible food due to salt. On top of that, I do believe the food prices are very overpriced for the taste as well as the pretty tiny portions you receive. Because of this, I don't think we will be back to eat here. However, I do think this is a great spot to grab a few drinks! Great vibes and super fun looking cocktails. I will be back for drinks for sure. Just be aware of the appetizers, as those were also super salty. Maybe someone's salt shaker broke that evening, but still a pricey meal......

Loved lunch at The Londboard! Came here with friends for Memorial Day at Sullivan's Island: loved everything! The restaurant is perfectly airy and gives island vibes (for good reason--they have a restaurant on St. Thomas as well!) I thought the teal longboard hanging above the bar was really cool! For drinks, I got a frozen painkiller, while my friends got wadma-law-breakers for Happy Hour ($10 per cocktail!) It was also Oyster Hour, so we got 1/2 dozen Charleston oysters for $12--so delicious we ordered a second batch! We also got the crispy calamari--perfectly crispy and tasty! For actual meals, my friends got salads. I got veggie, fish, and shrimp tacos--all freshly made and very good. I would come here again. I walked to the beach with a full belly and high spirits. Also, chat with the restaurant manager, Louis, who is also a tennis expert! Receipt attached for reference on prices.

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience fell short overall. The biggest issue was the service--it was extremely slow. There was only one waitress handling everything during lunch: hosting, bartending, and serving. While she was doing her best, it clearly wasn't enough to keep up. At one point, I literally watched two couples get up and leave because it took so long for her to even greet them and take a drink order. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The grilled oysters were absolutely amazing--easily the highlight of the meal and the one thing that stood out in a positive way. Unfortunately, the fried rice was disappointing. It was overcooked and the portion size was smaller than expected. Between the slow service and inconsistent food, it just didn't live up to expectations. I hope they can improve staffing because there's definitely potential here.

Food was OUTSTANDING!!!! Saylor, our Host, was wonderful and took good care of us!!! Highly recommend The Longboard if you're in the area!

Food was excellent, service was top notch. Food was so fresh. Chicken nuggets for son were a little tough, but the oysters, breakfast fried rice and toast options were amazing!

Caribbean Salad with shrimp add on

Restaurant was super cute, and food was good (nothing spectacular in my opinion). Happy with the salad portion.

Yummy spot and had a great time with a big group of friends grabbing drinks and dinner here! Services was great and very accommodating. Everyone's food was good, but lacked a little flavor, however good enough I'd go back! Great spot after the beach!

We came in on a Friday around 5:45pm and things were already pretty busy. We grabbed 2 seats at the beautiful bar and were immediately greeted by the staff. They have Happy Hour Monday - Saturday from 4-6 so we just made it. The charcuterie inside the repurposed wine bottle is such a fun idea. The meats and cheeses and nuts and crackers were delicious. The serving was quite large for a happy hour app. We started with glasses of prosecco and a chilled red which were on the happy hour menu as well. Melissa was behind the bar and she is AMAZING! Once happy hour was over and we learned there was live music from 7-9 we pretty much decided we were staying all night. Melissa made sure we never felt rushed. Honestly it felt like sitting in a cafe in Europe where enjoying a bottle of wine with friends is supposed to take time and never be quick. She helped us pick a bottle of sparkling rosé and it was very very good. And the price point was so reasonable. They have an extensive wine list and seriously the prices range from $23-$100+ so there's something for everyone. Once the music started we ordered the Sopressata and hot honey flat bread. It was great to share and the flavor was wonderful. It took a little while to come out of the kitchen, but Melissa made sure to check in and let us know. The space itself is so fun. There's a huge bar and a couch with comfortable chairs and tables along the wall. They also offer a small number of patio seats right outside. It got really crowded and reservations were almost a must. Another side note, the bathrooms are so nice. They're clean and well decorated and stocked with everything you could need from feminine products, to mouthwash and more. This spot is seriously a must visit! And I really appreciate their social media and website being up to date with all the specials and events going on. They have live music several nights per week and they also do classes like paint and sip nights. I cannot wait to go back!

We loved it. Met up here with a few friends and thoroughly enjoyed the night. This spot used to be…read morea wine bar before it became Charlotte's, so I was surprised to see how an already lovely interior was made even nicer. The seating was comfortable, and there was "lite" live music in the corner; a solo singer with a guitar who played just loud enough to enjoy without killing conversation. There was also a wine tasting going on at the end of the bar, hosted by one of the vendors, which was a fun touch. Unlike the previous wine bar, Charlotte's actually offers food, and we were handed full menus right away. We decided to share a bunch of small plates, assuming they'd be, well, small. We were wrong. The portions were generous, and everything was delicious. Meatballs in marinara with fresh basil and olive oil, a Mediterranean veggie flatbread with feta, and a lovely, light whipped ricotta served with crostini toasts. My only complaint is that there weren't quite enough crostini for the mountain of ricotta we were given. The wine was solid. I went with a still rosé while my friends had reds, and everyone was happy. The door never stopped revolving the whole time we were there, which tells me this place is already a hit. It's exactly what Mount Pleasant needed along that stretch of Coleman Boulevard.

The Perch is a wonderful choice for a casual lunch, whether a meet up or if you're dining alone…read more It's actually the 'porch' addition to Get Carried Away, designed for all year round dining with fans in the summer and tall heat lamps to keep you warm on chilly days. Parking is easy. There's a long, well stocked bar serving up beer, wine and your favorite cocktails. The menu offers choices for all dining preferences with a nod to southern favorites. Everything looks delish! I usually order a half sandwich/soup combo or fish tacos. Yesterday, my friend ordered grouper bites and my oh my, what a find ... piping hot and fresh large chunks of tender, moist grouper that tasted as if the grouper was freshly caught. Service is good and prices are fair. You'll come back often!
