Sunday morning is a rough time to come to Summer Moon Coffee. The lobby and upstairs were packed and there was not a seat to be found. I ordered a summer moon latte and went with a 1/4 of the moon milk. It was still a little sweet, but a nice treat. The bakery items look delicious, too, so I choose a ham and cheese croissant (heated). It did take around 5-10 minutes to get my latte. But, they were swamped and are still trying to get the kinks worked out when slammed. I just wish there was more seating! read more

My experience here was great, and I would come back! I ordered the Iced Winter Moon Latte, and it was deliciously sweet. I'm sure the 1/2 and 3/4 sweetness options would probably be sweet enough to satisfy as well. I came to study on a weekday and was impressed with the space. There is an upstairs area, which I did not explore. The downstairs area has plenty of seating and lots of sunlight pouring in. There was also a water station to refill your water cups/bottles. It can get a little loud with all of the people coming in and out and the blenders running, but with a good set of noise-canceling headphones, this was a great place to get hours of work done. read more

This is a really nice place. Very industrial looking inside with a second level inside. Newer building in an area that is redoing the entire area. Some with newer buildings, some refurbished, this street has 3 coffee shops on it with the 3-4 block area, and this includes this one. The others have some niches that make them different, this one is more of a stand alone coffee shop with some bakery eats. The "moon" part as we were told includes cream, or some special milk, in those drinks. We didn't try the "moon" drinks, wife had a cold coffee drink and I had a blended drink, both with almond milk. Both were real good. Wife really liked hers. The chocolate croissant and the coffee cake were really good! Coffee cake was a bit small for the price in my opinion, but the taste was good. read more

This was my first time at Summer Moon and I didn't know what to get or what their moon milk was, but the barista who took my order was super nice and explained it to me! They let me try a sample of their moon milk (essentially a sweetened breve), their staple. Needless to say, it was quite good and did not overpower the flavor of the coffee either. I love Summer Moon, but their lack of precaution with COVID is really alarming. The barista making the drinks is very clearly sick (coughing, frequently wiping her nose, and pale), and she is not wearing a mask. She prepared both drinks in my order, and in the process wiped her nose with her barehand at least 5 times. She has not washed her hands and is now touching/restocking the entire coffee bar. I understand that in Texas there is a lot of pushback in wearing a mask, but if employees are feeling under the weather, asking them to wear a mask is the least management can do to avoid being a hub for covid. Had stopped coming here about two weeks ago. Cashier tried to give me the dregs of the urn and then mixed drip blends to make up the balance of my to-go cup. Was not given the option of waiting for a fresh batch. Then a friend wanted to meet here for a time of fellowship. Swallowed my ego and agreed. Oh how quickly I was reminded why I stopped coming here. The cashier wasn't fully awake and was unnerved by my greeting of a hearty good morning. Then I was given a to-go cup when I asked for a ceramic mug to dine-in. The nail in the coffin was getting Velvet Blaze when I specifically asked for Guji. In addition, my friend and I wanted tacos to eat while in the dining area. Again, was not given the option of eating on-site as they were thrown haphazardly in a bag and set on the counter. Had to ask for plates. Why do I bother? I would rather you straight up say my business is not wanted rather than making me feel less than human. Does Fort Worth, specifically South Main, need another coffee shop? I think that as long as the area continues an upward mobile path, the answer is yes! Summer Moon makes an outstanding oat latte, and to be honest, I can't tell the difference between the oat latte here and over at Craftworks, it is that good. Their signature drink is the Summer Moon, and it's sweet! My friend ordered it last time we came and gave me a taste. Personally, too much for 8 am, but if I needed a pick me up a 2 pm, that would be my drink! In addition to coffee, Summer Moon offers an excellent selection of pastries from Main Street Bakery, not to mention breakfast tacos from Taco Head. So why come to Summer Moon with ALL the coffee shops opening over here on South Main? All the coffee shops I visit in this part of town are pushing the envelope for artisan coffee. Summer Moon does an outstanding job of providing high-end quality coffee for both the commuter on-the-go, in addition to creating an inviting environment for folks like me, a freelance writer, to work at. Plus, Summer Moon is creating a space for people who want to chill and hang out. I like the smaller, cozy atmosphere of Summer Moon. I particularly liked my most recent visit; Summer Moon is a place where I can sit and think. The music is soft, complementing the purpose of why I come to a coffee shop and camp out. Some, like me, are working, but many of the patrons on this chilly Friday in February, are visiting. Having an abundance of good coffee shops in the area is a good for building community and getting us off our phones, and talking to each other. Summer Moon is bright with lots of windows, white and wood decor, and friendly. The friendly staff smiles, answers questions and exemplifies a sense of community that parlays that the staff seems to want to be here rather than they need to be here for a paycheck. The majority of tables are full of people talking, the books and toys in the corner encourage kids to play, off the electronic devices, and it just feels good to be here. I welcome Summer Moon to the area and recommend trying it. If you are in a hurry, you can order online and do the grab-and-go. Went today for the first time because I love coffee on a rainy day! They have such a cute shop I'm excited to go back once everything is completely reopened. We got a 1/2 Moon and a 3/4 moon which is basically espresso, Moon Milk, and skim milk in different proportions. I really enjoyed them since they are basically lattes but not truly lattes. Only down side is the prices are a bit high but that's to be expected since it is in the "trendy" Southside area. It didn't leave any bad after taste which was pleasant.
