This is one of the smaller Summer Moons but it gets a lot of traffic and is in an excellent location. The baristas are friendly and offer solid suggestions if you're not sure what to get. I prefer the Summer Moon on Parmer just because it has more space to study and do work, but as far as Round Rock coffee shops, this is one of the best. read more

Love this coffee shop! The coffee flavor never fails to disappoint. It's a bit on the pricier side but very worth it. This specific location is ranking in a little lower for me. I have been a fan of summer moons seasonal flavors since I moved to Texas. We were super excited to get their Roasted Chestnut Latte today and we were disappointed. We waited 20 min once ordering for our coffees, and the lattes were Luke warm at best and had minimal flavor. They mostly tasted like milk. I've had great lattes from their other locations so I was sad to say the least after driving this way. The inside was very crowded, but that's expected. I love summer moon but, admittedly, not all locations are created equally. This is probably my least favorite. It's definitely cute - the titles on the ceiling and the wallpaper in the bathroom are adorable - but the seating situation isn't ideal. The majority of tables are squished along the window and don't offer much room. Not all seats have a plus easily accessible. I love the "moon" coffee options and highly recommend. I had a chocolate croissant and it was pretty tasty. A little greasier and not a flaky as I'd like but definitely still enjoyable. Parking is easy. PARENTS: I would recommend coming if you have a stroller because the table seating doesn't really allow for a convenient spot to put it. There is a changing table in the BR. read more

Love the "woody" taste of the hot coffees, although this time my youngest and I were in the mood for cold and sweet but not ice cream. So what else is there for two coffee liking yelpers... I typically love Summer Moon. I have a location near me in Fort Worth and their coffee and pastries are spot on. However, I was traveling with two women and we just stopped in this Austin area location. The store was clean, the line was pretty quick and employees seemed friendly. As for the items we purchased, our experience quickly turned sour. My half-moon was great, my sister's cinna-moon was great, but my mom's regular coffee was bitter and she ended up trashing it. We ALL THREE orders a pastry (2 raspberry danishes and a plain croissant) and we took one bit of each and trashed them all. They were DAYS old. I mean, daaaaays old. My mom went to the counter and told an employee that our pastries were stale and they just nodded and trashed them for us. We are now across the street at HEB because I know they'll have fresh items. read more

I love their moon milk! It's cream with special secret spices and makes the coffee taste so good! I went twice recently and on my second visit I learned you can buy a pint of the moon milk, which I did and have been putting it in my cold brew & americanos at home. It's gonna be a fridge staple! Both times I got a decaf iced latte with a "whisper" of moon milk. Whisper meaning just a splash. They have their own fun terminology here. The iced drinks are summer moons and hot drinks are winter moons. The decor is so fun & trendy, and the service is great. It's got a lot of seating options but stays pretty busy. I saw lots of people working on laptops during both visits, once was in the morning and the other was in the afternoon. There's a good variety of baked goods, including Bougie donuts & Texas Bakery muffins. Also various sweet & savory croissants. I love Summer Moon, I drive to my local one in Temple everyday. Their coffee and espresso doesn't give me the jitters or cause anxiety. I do agree that with summer moon you never know what you're going to get each time--as depending on the barista, your drink will probably be slightly different. Every summer moon passes the vibe check in terms of decor and lounging areas. I'm specifically leaving this review because I visited the round rock location on Tuesday. Allison (not sure if that's how she spells her name) but she was the person that took my order. She's the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. When someone is spending $11 on a drink at a gourmet WALK IN only coffee shop, I think it's safe to say that exceptional service is expected. I went to the counter to order my drink (which mind you, I order everyday at my local SM with no attitude given) and when I asked for a dirty moon chai, she gave the most annoyed face at the screen.. then I asked if it could be shaken.. then again, another irritated look at the screen with NO RESPONSE or acknowledgement to me. She proceeds to walk over to the male barista who was going to make the drink and in the most condescending way, "she wants her drink shaken " like I was such a bother. I get my drink.. I walk out. To notice that there is no espresso in my drink. So I go back in. She's standing at the pick up area. I say, "I just bought this and there is no espresso in it.." does she acknowledge or say "I'm so sorry" no. She rolls her eyes and says "okay." Then grabs the espresso and asks, "did you get 1 or 2 shots?" I said, 2. She proceeds to quickly splash about a TBS of espresso on the top of my drink and walks away. Wtf!? I then go and ask the sweet blonde girl what her name is.. the blonde girl responds "uhhh Allison?" And I say.. okay.. COOL. Because I wanted to leave this review. Whoever the manager is... let your people know that a simple be kind attitude would have been nice. Making a customer feel like their order is so annoying or complicated is not customer service. Second, when you get it wrong.. fix it with joy and make it better. Don't just do the bare minimum with an attitude. I've been in customer service for 15 years and never have I ever treated anyone the way Allison did. Of course she'll probably play it off like she wasn't rude but trust.. she was. Allison when you read this, you know what you did.. I hope you learn your lesson and no other customer feels the way you made me feel that day! P.s. im not a mean human. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they did mess up my drink once but they were super busy and still offered to make me a new one. Haven't been in a bit but one of my favorites was their iced blueberry latte half sweet with oat milk so damn good. They also have a vegan version of their moon milk. Their pop tarts and other pastries are vegan. The dark pink pop tart is super yummy . Definitely worth checking them out! read more

Mocha moon thoughts are that is has a good balance of coffee and whatever else is in a mocha. From a person who is a coffee beginner, it is not overwhelming with coffee but it gets the taste buds dancing. Autumn moon thoughts are that this is perfect drink for fall. The spices in it make you feel like your throwing autumn leaves in your backyard. Yummy. At $5.50 for just a 20oz of their version of a Frappuccino (Espresso Milkshake) I was prepared not to like this place. After all their claim to fame seems to be the 7 ingredients they add to their milk? But I can't resist trying a new coffee so I stepped in anyway. Not sure what is in that milk but it must have addictive qualities to it. The drink was smooth, exactly the right sweetness and was perfectly blended. I also spent the next three days thinking about how much I wanted another one. Even if I have to drive way out of my way... in heavy traffic. The staff is nice, they happily explained everything except what secret addictive ingredient is in that Moon Milk. The restaurant was clean with every table full. They just opened this location in North Round Rock which was a previous Starbucks. While it is still a small place it is much brighter than it was. The process is the same as everywhere, get in line, order, move down the line and wait. I only get black coffee, no overly complicated drink that may or may not have some coffee in it. I want to taste coffee, pure and simple. We ordered and moved down the line to wait. I did learn you can order ahead and just walk in and pick it up! That is going to be handy on busy days. My coffee came up, but I was still waiting for my wife's coffee concoction. There was no one behind me so I just kept standing there. After a few minutes, the guy pictured in the orange hat asked me (with a tone; I have teenagers so I know what tone is) if I was waiting for something - well, duh, I am waiting for a coffee. I guess I was just caught off guard by the question - why else would I be standing there? First experience was simple, but perfect. I acted ignorant, and a guy in a trucker hat, Apple Watch, readers and sporting a pullover (I think it's a funny combination, which is really a backhanded compliment) explained things very thoroughly with the passion, curiousity and care of someone gauging the mental capacity of his opposition. Smiles and those awful high waisted jeans were all over, which was to be expected. I can't talk though, I'm in sweat pants with pocket zippers and a t-shirt 2 sizes too small so... Point is everyone seems to fit in just right here. It's decorated well, there's supple music caressing our ears, a few games and literature scattered about with just enough seating to keep it from feeling crowded if people are standing in line. There's no drive through, so that's a small bummer but there's some patio seating and unisex bathrooms if those matter to you (or don't.) My Nitro White was served swiftly, again with a smile as I grabbed it from the counter, and I'll probably sit here for a couple hours to see the long term vibe of the place and to sample more menu items. #ianofaustin approved read more

I'm a very simple person, so I tend to order my coffee with just milk and sugar. This time I tried the winter moon, which is mixed with their summer moon half and half. It's made in-house, which is a cool feature for this local spot. I would definitely suggest if you normally order coffee without any sweeteners, to just order the moons with the minimal moon option. They have a big board on menu that explains how much moon juice you want in your coffee. I ordered the half moon coffee, and looking back, I should have gone with 1/4 moon juice. It was really sweet for me at 1/2 juice. LOL read more

Where do I start? I can't believe I'm an Austinite and today was my first time trying Summer Moon. I heard so many people talking about it over time and once my coworker told me more about how delicious it is, I had to come during my lunch and see if it was worth the hype. And IT IS! 10/10 highly recommend on the coffee/drinks. Of course it being my first time I had to try the Moon milk latte (I think that's what I got haha). But, I also tried the Chai Tea Latte and OMG! I honestly have to say, the coffee and some of the drinks are better than Starbucks but that's just my taste buds. They have water available, they have a huge menu you can choose from, they sell merch - candles, shirts, mugs, coffee, etc. & they have outdoor seating! It isn't much indoor seating as other big coffee shops but still enough room for everyone to sit whose wanting to be inside. All in all, I found a new coffee shop to work at and enjoy good drinks! Being new to the area, I am trying out different coffee places. The interior was very clean and very little seating left. The menu was a little confusing. I ordered a latte and the clerk asked if this was my first time in the shop . He explained about their coffees and drinks and wood fired and so on.... It must have gone in one ear and out the other...‍ so I ordered what I thought would be the closest to what I think a Latte is which was a quarter something or the other. I also grabbed a cinnamon roll. I tasted the roll as I waited for my drink order. The roll was very delicious but would have been even better warmed up (not offered this option) received my drink and went to my car, (no seating left). The drink was good, but it was too much cream and not enough coffee, but still tasted good. I will be back and maybe pay attention more to the clerks description of the drinks. It's funny, being wood fire roasted, you would think there would be more of a smoky taste to the coffee... I will definitely go back and try to perfect my latte order.. read more
