Today I had some chamomile tea and a breakfast sandwich with an English muffin and no cheese. Bri was helpful in taking my order and delivering my items. One of the things I noticed today is that every menu item has its associated calories. For some this could be good or bad. It did deter me from getting a biscuit. It has been a minute since I was last at Tim Hortons. They now appear to have a rewards program. They may have had the rewards program previously, however, today it was very prominently displayed. Apparently, Tims Rewards is a points‑based program available through the Tim Hortons app, their website, or a physical rewards card. Tim Hortons members earn points when they make eligible purchases and can redeem those points for menu items like coffee, donuts, and sandwiches. Pretty chill morning...

One thing I cannot help but notice is that every time I step foot inside the Austin Tim Horton's location, it feels like every employee is on their first day on Earth. There always seems to be some kind of confusion, an order gets messed up, or something is broken. It does not really make sense. I will probably still go back because their little treats make the visit worthwhile, but I have had a few nightmare experiences. One time I placed a mobile order 20 minutes in advance, only for it to not be ready for another 20 minutes, and they had completely forgotten about it. I just feel like there's a CO2 leak every time in there... The Canadian way RIYL: Tim Horton's, but with something slightly off.

They have fresh baked treats and they sell local items like candles and jewelry. The service provided is amazing. The Barista was knowledgeable of any item I asked about and easily recommended a drink for me. You can get your baked goods warmed and most drinks can be served hot or cold. I loved the silence when I walked in. I did start to hear faint holiday music in the background but it was not loud at all. They even have a cute outdoor area for groups or those who are more for chatting. I'll definitely be back. It was so affordable and close to home. My new neighborhood coffee stop.

The pastry - an almond roll - was tasty, just the right texture, and liberal with almond slices. The service was great, too - welcoming and cheerful without being invasive. The chairs are SO COMFORTABLE. This really surprised me. Coffee shops don't usually have chairs this comfy. Plenty of space, outlets, natural light. Quiet, too - no music blasting. I highly recommend Drinkle, and encourage anyone in the area to drop by.

Purely Provisions was a cute spot to meet up with friends on a weekend, offering counter service…read moreand plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the brunch menu left much to be desired. The Sunday menu had very limited vegan or vegetarian options (not even a salad?), and substitutions were not allowed. I was told I "couldn't substitute bacon," not even for avocado. I ordered what I thought would be chilaquiles, but it turned out to be a trendy, Americanized version of the dish. Being Hispanic, I know better than to order dishes like this at restaurants because I expect traditional cooking. So know that the eggs in the chilaquiles are served over easy and very runny, they are not scrambled. Also, instead of tortillas, the dish used Dorito-esque chips. Since I can't eat undercooked eggs, I was essentially left with a bowl of chips for $13 (pictured). Overall, the menu felt like it was trying a little too hard to be trendy or "cool" rather than letting the locally sourced ingredients (which is really cool feature they offer!) speak for themselves. I liked that they care about sourcing ingredients, but the execution felt more focused on creating "quirky", elevated twists versus making dishes that are cohesive or satisfying.
