Update: Looks like things may be getting addressed. I called the Euclid location today and while they were closed to the public, someone was there and mentioned they had been remaking the Rainbow Tea multiple times throughout the day. Sounds like they're doing some internal quality control testing over there. For reference, attaching a photo of what the Rainbow Tea is supposed to look like -- vibrant red, sweet, and no weird yellow color sour aftertaste. I have been coming here for years and I can confidently say that the quality of the drinks along with the service has declined. I waited about 40 minutes just to get two drinks, which is absolutely absurd, it's not even worth it at this point and the drinks were poorly made. my Matcha drink had cream foam along the sides, and the top of it was not closed all the way, causing it to spill it in my car. Very disappointing and very low quality made. I ended up getting the Matcha colada (newest drink) which was overly sweet and when I tried to mix it, the lid was not securely tightened and ended up spilling in my car. the ambience of the store is small and overcrowded, the tables arnt wiped because they're hogged by students studying. overall, will not be coming here anymore. I normally don't leave bad reviews unless it's a repeated issue, or at least not on my first experience, but I feel like Summerfield really dropped the ball tonight. I only allow myself one cheat meal a week, and while there are plenty of other boba spots I could go to, my kids specifically love your fries. There was an unusually long line around 8:30 PM, but we waited anyway. By the time we ordered, the kitchen was closed, so no fries, my kids were pretty disappointed. We ended up just getting boba drinks, but unfortunately the boba pearls were severely undercooked and extremely hard. It made the drinks unpleasant to drink, and I ended up throwing mine away because the boba is the whole point of milk tea. What made it more frustrating is that your phone line doesn't even work, so there's no way to call and let management know directly. The only way to bring attention to the issue is by leaving a review. I understand busy nights happen, but if the drinks can't be made consistently or the boba isn't ready, it's probably better not to serve them at all. At the very least let the customer know that the boba is not ready or no bobas available. read more

During busy times, it can get pretty full and loud inside, but there's also patio seating which is nice if you want to enjoy the weather. You can order either through walk-in or drive-thru. Drive-thru can get really really busy usually after 8/9pm on Fridays and Weekends. I would avoid these days and times unless you want to wait for a while. Roasted Oolong Milk Tea 7/10 - this tends to be my control drink across all boba places. Not all boba places offer a standard oolong milk tea, so it's nice that they have this on the menu. Overall a very standard milk tea. Tea flavor comes through but is on the sweeter side, would recommend doing 50 or 75 percent sweet. Sometimes the texture of the boba can be inconsistent. Some days the boba is cooked perfectly. Some days the boba is overcooked. Otherwise, it is pretty consistent, but nothing special. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! I rarely leave negative reviews, but after what happened to my daughter at Summerfield Tea Bar in Rowland Heights, I feel obligated to warn other families with food allergies. We ordered the Rainbow Tea and immediately noticed it looked much cloudier than usual. Because my daughter has a serious dairy allergy, we asked the worker MULTIPLE times if there was any milk or dairy in the drink. We were repeatedly assured it was completely dairy-free and that the different appearance was due to them changing syrups. Shortly after drinking it, my daughter suffered a severe allergic reaction that sent us to the ER for over 8 hours. Watching your child struggle to breathe and fearing for their life is something no parent should ever experience -- especially after specifically asking staff about allergens several times. What should have been a nice Mother's Day turned into one of the most traumatic days of my life. If your establishment is unsure about ingredients or cross-contamination, DO NOT confidently tell customers a drink is allergy-safe. Food allergies are not preferences -- they are life-threatening medical conditions.
