This was our first time visiting Summerfield Rowland Heights, and unfortunately it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. When we arrived, the shopping center was extremely busy and all of the parking near Summerfield was taken. We parked along the brick wall in what appeared to be the same parking lot as the restaurant. There was nothing obvious to suggest that those spaces belonged to a separate apartment complex. The only warnings were a couple of small tow signs posted along the wall for about 18 parking spaces, and the main sign near the entrance was bent over and unreadable when driving in. We had no idea that section was private parking monitored by Quick Tow. We went inside, ordered food and drinks, and waited over 30 minutes for everything to be prepared. When we finally finished and walked back outside, our car was gone. After reading other reviews, I realized this isn't an isolated incident. It seems to happen to many people visiting this location. With how popular Summerfield is and how often customers end up parking there, I think the restaurant should at least post a clear warning telling customers not to park along that brick wall because vehicles will be towed. If they truly care about their customers, this seems like a simple step they could take. Instead, at 10:30 at night we were left stranded, had to take an Uber to another city to retrieve our car, wait while the paperwork was processed, and pay $640 to get it back--all in less than an hour after it had been towed. The whole situation felt incredibly predatory and sketchy. While the food itself wasn't bad, this experience completely overshadowed everything else. I won't be returning, and I strongly recommend that anyone visiting be extremely careful where they park. Thankfully, I only consumed one piece and my allergy isn't life-threatening, but it easily could have been much worse. When I politely asked if they could remake the drink without the mango, the staff argued with me instead of simply correcting the mistake. Not sure what the hype is. It was extremely busy on a Tuesday night at 11pm (on 12/30/2025), maybe all the kids are still on winter break? We ordered 2 drinks and took almost 45 minutes for them to come out. You can order online to avoid the wait. Drinks were mediocre. So busy there wasn't much parking. Beware that Summerfield only has 9 parking spots right behind their building. On the other side of their drive through there is a shared parking lot with the bank next door, I'm sure you can park there. What you don't want to do is park against the tan cream wall, there is a high chance you will get your car towed. That row of parking spots belong to the apartment complex behind. Unfortunately, my friend parked in that row and got their car towed by the apartment complex which cost them $900 to retrieve their car back. It sucked but we can laugh about it now. Summerfield is my go to spot to get oolong milk tea in the area. Inside is nice, vibrant and lively. Usually occupied with people studying or hanging out. During busy times, it can get pretty full and loud inside, but there's also patio seating which is nice if you want to enjoy the weather. You can order either through walk-in or drive-thru. Drive-thru can get really really busy usually after 8/9pm on Fridays and Weekends. I would avoid these days and times unless you want to wait for a while. Roasted Oolong Milk Tea 7/10 - this tends to be my control drink across all boba places. Not all boba places offer a standard oolong milk tea, so it's nice that they have this on the menu. Overall a very standard milk tea. Tea flavor comes through but is on the sweeter side, would recommend doing 50 or 75 percent sweet. Sometimes the texture of the boba can be inconsistent. Some days the boba is cooked perfectly. Some days the boba is overcooked. Otherwise, it is pretty consistent, but nothing special. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! The tofu was pretty good, I liked the seasoning they used. The popcorn chicken on the other hand is very meh. It's just like frozen popcorn chicken fried and there is no basil or much of a seasoning to it. The tofu is seasoned better. The milk tea I got was standard, a bit on the sweeter side. Parking for this place is horrendous. One of the worst parking lots ever and mixed in with the drive through, there are spots where you will get boxed in. I usually park on the street and walk in. There is like an apartment near by but DO NOT PARK THERE. They actively tow cars. The restroom is not integrated into the restaurant. It's outside the back. It looks pretty sketchy walking there but the inside of the restroom is not bad. Relatively clean. Overall, it's an okay tea place. There's so many logistical challenges that I don't really like to come here. There was an unusually long line around 8:30 PM, but we waited anyway. By the time we ordered, the kitchen was closed, so no fries, my kids were pretty disappointed. We ended up just getting boba drinks, but unfortunately the boba pearls were severely undercooked and extremely hard. It made the drinks unpleasant to drink, and I ended up throwing mine away because the boba is the whole point of milk tea. What made it more frustrating is that your phone line doesn't even work, so there's no way to call and let management know directly. The only way to bring attention to the issue is by leaving a review. I understand busy nights happen, but if the drinks can't be made consistently or the boba isn't ready, it's probably better not to serve them at all.
