A cute B&B with a few rooms downstairs, the kitchen, sitting area and one bedroom plus the "Alaska…read moresuite" upstairs. There's a sign on the swinging door meant to notify guests that its the door to the Alaska Suite (I don't know if that actually deters anyone from using the bathroom that's right past the swinging doors). The kids bedroom and the master bedroom are on either side, both with combo locks. Not sure how "secure" this setup is, especially for ones that truly have little ones staying in that room. The beds were so soft and squeaky, none of us got a good nights rest. They did a good job with the decor in all the common areas, bedrooms and bathroom. The two dilapidated RVs in the back of the property were quite the eyesore though. 100% contactless check in and out. I received a code via email 15 minutes before check in at 3pm and instructions later on how to check out. My parents were stoked to find the help yourself well stocked fridge and pantry items for breakfast. They cooked themselves some soft boiled eggs in the early AM and were happy campers.

I felt unsafe and I'm pretty sure there are some health and fire safety violations.I took pictures and sent them to Expedia to no avail. The bed was squeaky, there were stains on the carpet and it was stinky. The refrigerator was full of rotten things. It was a basement room and the toilet was on a weird pedestal The owner was the nastiest business person I've ever talked to. Actually she sent me nasty texts after I called Expedia. DO NOT STAY HERE!

I would give ZERO stars if I could…read more The property is comfortable and is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The owner is the problem. We booked months in advance to stay here at the beginning of our trip to Alaska for 2 nights and 1 night at the end of our trip. After our 1st night the owner stated she needed to speak with us about the reservations we had made for the last night of our trip. When we met with her she stated that she is bumping us to allow for another customer to stay there instead for a week, as opposed to us only staying for a night. Not only is this unprofessional but on top of it all, she was extremely rude about it. This is very poor customer service and business ethics. When we mentioned this to her she stated that it is commonly done and basically we just needed to get over it. She gave us one of her friends contact info for a rental opportunity that was $40 more than what we had reserved with her. The entire encounter made the 2nd night of our stay uncomfortable. We felt unwelcome and awkward. I do NOT recommend Swiss Efficiency Accommodations.

I would caution anyone to read the message boards in regards to this Bed and Breakfast. I paid a…read morecash security deposit, signed a lease, and waited a month to move in to Swiss Accommodations. I was not told that they have someone who lives adjoining their garage, as well as another permanent guest who lives some where upstairs, that my unit not only was not secured with a deadbolt, but that the owners have come into my unit without permission. One of these instances, she even emailed back to say I had left the door unlocked. I had been given two sets of keys upon moving in, but only one worked for my unit. I made sure to give the other set back, as who knows to whoms unit they actually went. I have always paid rent on time, and have never once had an over night guest, or any loud noises, but have been continually harassed for months with emails. The last straw was being told they needed to come and look at the drain in my shower, due to leaving on an extended vacation. Mind you I had gone over three weeks without a working toilet.... They live in the building, and thus know my schedule. The owner via email insisted on an exact time that I would be at work. When in truth, they have never left on said vacation. I will only hope that they return my cash security deposit, but have yet to have one ethical dealing from them.

Yes, there's breakfast but it's nothing special and it is not a sit-down hot breakfast. The location is awful. Yes, it's close to the airport so if you need to be close to the airport that's a good thing I guess. But there's nothing other than a gas station and a couple of chain restaurants (McDonalds, etc.) within walking distance. And because it's right on Lake Hood the seaplanes are taking off and landing throughout the day which is VERY loud. If you're hoping for a mid-day nap be sure to bring earplugs. The entire hotel is decorated in a plane/flying theme - it was way over the top in my opinion but I guess that appeals to some people. The rooms are very dated (think early 90s) but clean and comfortable. The prices are really high, it was more expensive than the awesome B&B we stayed in just a few days prior (Wildflower Inn near downtown Anchorage, do yourself a favor and book there), and it didn't even have a full breakfast. The woman (owner?) who checked us in was nice but a bit disorganized. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, there's places that offer much plusher rooms and amazing breakfasts for less cost.
