Had a small rust spot near top of windshield. Should have been easy fix. Went from that to having to replace the windshield they cracked. Then when they pulled off the masking tape and paper to protect from overs pray,they pulled off the clear coat on both rear quarter panels and all the door handles. When they tried to repair that they tried to pop out various parts on the inside and remove both rear side windows. What a mess, it destroyed my vehicle it was all original paint in mint condition ,now its a mess. Bunch of amateurs. read more

Had a disagreement with a curb while leaving Overlook Hospital. I live 20 miles away, so I called what looked to be the closest place. Did I luck out! The owner himself jumped in his car, was able to get my car back in a drivable condition, and ordered the somewhat obscure part for installation the following week. Summit Forge recently did body work on my car to remove some rust spots on my hood. They were thorough, took my car in quickly, and were done on time in just a few days. They scratched the hood of my car (they said maybe it happened in the car wash?) but after a small back and forth, agreed to fix it. Their cost was about half that of a body shop just down the road and I thought they did a nice job overall and the car ultimately came out looking as good as new. read more

I was, unfortunately, involved in an accident in my Aston Martin. The dealer (down the street in Summit) recommended Summit Forge, and I have nothing but glowing things to say. They are extremely friendly, their rates are reasonable, and they worked seamlessly with my insurance company. It took about a month longer than expected to complete the repair due to spotty parts availability (not their fault) and they kept me updated throughout the process. They even took the car to the dealer prior to my pickup to ensure it wasn't throwing any codes, etc. Most importantly, the quality of their work is superb. Perfect color match and not a single speck of dust. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend them for any auto body job. I can not say enough good things about this place. The woman in the office is amazing and friendly. I called another place to get my mom's car fixed in the same town and that person on the phone acted like another car to fix was a big convenience --- "so busy..don't know when we can get you in...etc". I called Summit Forge and the office person explained the process and provided the soonest date I could drop the car off. She then kept me updated and called when the car was ready to pick up. An easy five stars for Summit Forge. Jamie (a neighbor of mine) took care of my car when I got T-boned by an SUV in Warren. Insurance claimed it wasn't my fault and covered the repair costs. Summit Forge billed over 2,000 dollars in damages to my car. Jamie worked hard to find all the parts to my Saab which included shipments from the west coast and upstate NY. Not an easy task, but he did it. I remember he even was so meticulous that he held up my car on the final "repair day" to get the alignment to be perfect. read more

Summit Forge acted in bad faith when towing my car. I had an issue with the brake on my wheel and had to have my car towed. The Summit police called the Summit Forge guys to tow it out of traffic because they couldn't wait for my insurance people to tow it. Long story short, Summit Forge (Kevin Krug) charged me to tow it to their shop (3 blocks away) which I did not request instead of the dealership 2 towns over as mentioned at time of towing and then charged me again to tow it to the dealer to get my brakes fixed. They alleged that they could only stay within Summit because they had to call for backup to cover in case they had another emergency towing to take care of. I was under the assumption they were going to get the car out of the way, figure out what they needed to do with their backup towers and take my car to the dealer as requested. Instead, I strongly believe they acted in bad faith and charged me twice. $300 for a towing 10 miles away. read more

Summit Forge did an outstanding job. They were efficient, kept me informed of the status of my car, cheerful, and professional. The repair work was beautifully done. And beyond taking care of the accident-related damage, they discovered in the course of the body work a completely unrelated mechanical problem which I hadn't been aware of. Had they not discovered it and notified me, my car would have suffered a sudden, potentially catastrophic failure while driving. Originally sent my car here for repair after a light rear end collision. I was patient with the shop after one repair attempt after another was fumbled. I had to return (at least) three times and deal with months of downtime. The shop damaged or failed to repair an oil cooler behind the rear bumper on the first repair attempt, resulting in a 100+ mile tow back to Summit Forge after setting out on a summer weekend road trip. Subsequently, a later weekend trip resulted in exhaust parts coming loose/falling off after having not been reinstalled or tightened properly. And, finally, removal/reinstall of a rear light damaged paint on previously unaffected body work - the paint match on the repair for this looks like it was done by a sixth grader with a close-enough shade of touch up paint and a nail polish brush. No follow up is needed at this point - each time I leave Summit Forge a new problem arises - it's almost comedy, some of the issues are so simple (forgetting to tighten multiple bolts on exhaust hangers?? C'mon). The shop is run by reasonably nice people, but the work is just garbage. read more
