What an amazing experience!!!! Let me start off by saying this was my first time ever getting my nails done with designs. I typically on occasion get a solid color gel manicure. I saw there were different options of groupons for Jules. I chose an option I was not familiar with and when I came in person and she saw my nails, she thoroughly and patiently explained what I chose and what options I had in alternatives. I wasn't looking for acrylics or press-ons, although I already paid my groupon for that. I instead preferred an option she kindly gave me - which was a gel overlay manicure with designs. And oh my god, I could not reccomend that enough! First of all, I had a small bit of inspiration and she created the design so fast and with certain specific things I liked and was looking for, created a set I was overjoyed with. My aesthetic to this design was based off a british band that had album covers that were bold and cute and creepy - like a 1940s/1960s gothic circus. She then after sketching my design ideas and inspiration, cleaned my old dip nails I got previously from another nail salon months ago that grew out and curved and cracked my nails and buffed them so they could re-grow to be healthier and lighter. I wanted them shorter as well because I am a musician and oh my god, she did amazing! I thought we would have to cut down my nails super short because I had a few cracks in my nails but she gave me just enough length that they will grow back so healthy and nice. Next she did my base and added by hand, painted the cutest and loveliest designs that matched what I hoped for and more - while adding more embellishments that made my inspo even better! The result were these gorgeous beauties in the photo below. I LOVE them. We also had such a lovely conversation throughout my nail session, I felt like she became a new friend of mine. I told her multiply times how nervous I was because I never went this bold with my nails and she was so sweet, empathetic, and reasurring which made me feel confident in my choices - and gave me plenty of options should I change my mind. She also mentioned that she can fix anything if there's an issue 48 hours after getting my nails done and literally when there was an issue, very quick and easy to resolve, she was true to her word and fixed it the next day - even adding a bit of sparkle for fun on my nails! I don't think I can ever go to any other nail tech again after her!!! She truly spoiled me for anyone else in the future. She is talented, kind, fun to talk to, sweet, and amazing at her work. She is supremely communicative, fairly priced in her services, and all in all, an incredible soul. I truly appreciate her for giving me a pep in my step with these nails! I cannot stop looking at them :*). Don't listen to any haters out there regarding her work. She does every design BY HAND like the artist that she is and has the personality of an angel with the cool edge of badassery to make you feel confident in yourself. She is IT ya'll, go to her! I don't normally go to Los Gatos to get my nails done but my nails were short and chipped. I needed a totally new set. I saw on Groupon that Summon the Slay Nails had a great deal for gel x set and gel polish. So I called and scheduled an appointment. It was fast and easy. Julie was great. She explained all of the choices and I left very happy, even with the short delay to get started. She really took the time needed to make my nails as great as possible. We came in for 3 Simplicity manicures -- 2 with cat-eye gel polish and 1 with regular gel. We spent nearly $100, expecting at least basic quality and durability. Unfortunately, within just 3 days, all of our gel polish started peeling off. For what we paid, the results were incredibly disappointing. Honestly, I could've bought gel polish from Target and done it myself -- and it probably would've lasted longer. Definitely not worth the money or time. Won't be returning. read more
