I think I may have just found my new place! I used to get acrylics every 3-4 weeks a few years back but stopped because it became rather pricey to upkeep + my nails were getting fragile. I've since moved from east SJ to Campbell and didn't want to put in the effort to continue going to my former shop (lol too lazy to drive that far). I'm pretty particular about quality - I don't want to be dumping money when it's not done exactly how I'd like. After browsing through Zen Nail Spa's pictures, I knew I had to give them a try. It was a Sunday around 2pm and I was hoping to get an appointment at 3:30pm (they close at 5pm on Sundays). I reached out to Diane via Yelp messaging and received a quick reply. When I came to the shop, I was welcomed & helped immediately. Diane worked on my acrylics, and someone else (I never caught her name, sorry!) took care of my pedicure. Diane is so sweet and genuinely wants to get to know her clients. I felt like I was hanging out with a best gal friend. I wanted a particular design I had seen on Pinterest but wanted a particular length & shape. She followed the picture spot on! I can't say enough good things about Diane's work. She does a really good job and I have been to many nail salons. Diane is very loyal to her customers and will try to work with your schedule. Before the second pandemic shut down for the 2020 winter season, she worked until midnight so her customers can get their mani's and pedi's. A bonus for me is that her salon is very close by. This nail salon is PERFECT! Diane is the best of the best and will take great care of you. A clean, sanitary salon with a wide range of colors. I normally get an acrylic fill and pedicure every few weeks, all fairly priced! This is a new owner and she really turned this place around. If you live around the neighborhood this has to be your go to! Not overall crowded where you all you smell is nail polish and the zen music is so relaxing! Hot tea and water always available. The hot tea is my favorite. The manicurist are super friendly and do an excellent job! If I didn't move out of the area, I'd still be coming to Zen Nails & Spa. She also has waxing services too! I've visited this place second time and the pedicures are amazing! I would give 4 stars but I tried their manicure and the job is the worst I've seen, especially for the first time trying it. The cuticles were not cut, my nails are all different sizes and I got charged $5 for buffing my nails, which didn't really make a huge difference. The woman who did my manicure didn't even take off the little bits I had left from a previous acrylic job (from a different salon). Definitely not doing my nails here, just pedicures going forward. Total spent for both pedicure and manicure +tip: $100 I would have given $0 tip for the manicure but I'm too nice to not tip... The owner is really nice, she should definitely hiring more employees with better manicure skills, who are attentive to detail. I was busy talking to a customer next to me at the pedicure station, so it feels like I was taken advantage of because I wasn't sitting and staring my nails the whole time. This lady Diane is so unprofessional!!! She is rude and I try very hard to be understanding. She just tried to charge me an extra $10 to take off my nails. This is my 3rd time here and each time she has been more rude, more attitude for no reason. I had to walk out. I tried to walk in one evening, but when I walked up to the door, it said appointments only because of covid. I'm very glad I didn't let this stop me as I called immediately and quickly made an appointment for the next day. Diane was a great conversationalist and super kind and accommodating. I live two minutes away from this salon, and have contemplated giving it a try for a while now. I am very glad that I did! I had my nails done a few days ago and asked for a pink and white. The owner Diane suggested a more updated, stylish version that is much like an ombre. I love it! I kept them fairly short since I haven't had nails for a few years and spend most of my work days on a computer. The salon was very clean, very spacious and Diane is as sweet as can be as well as efficient and talented. This is my first review on yelp, so that's a bit worrying. :( I'm a bit nagged by the way they treated my friend when we walked in for a manicure. First off, I was unable to make an appointment. I was a bit worried about walk-in's from reading reviews. So, when I walked in- I was lucky, it was empty and silent, and I asked one of the ladies if I may have a walk in appointment. They just told us to pick out a color. Oook. I was just happy they accepted us. But not too surprised seeing as it was completely empty on a Sunday morning. Business is business, right? Anyway, my friend was able to start the manicure, and I was kindly asked to sit next to her. That was unexpectedly sweet. So, there's a star for you! But I was pretty disappointed when half way through the manicure as my friend washed her hands, the woman taking care of us asked for us to pay. W-wait, you haven't finished? It was a bit awkward and me and my friend just looked at each other. Anyway she continued the manicure after charging our card. I've never been charged halfway through a appointment. Mostly I assume, because we have yet to see the results of the job. It was obviously our first time, and they had barely spoken to us to know what we like or don't; so why am I paying for something I've yet to see? The rest of the appointment took place with her on her cell phone, whilst finishing my friends nails. Awkward? It obviously wasn't a call for an appointment, it was just her chatting to a friend, laughing- Lasting the rest of the appointment. I don't want to entirely diss the place. It is clean and well kept; the sink to wash your hands is up front, which is nice- considering some times you have to walk in a bathroom some places. (+) I received the following for a Pedicure ($23): Basic Cut, File, Cuticle, Pumice Scrub and Citrus Scent Sea Salt Scrub +With an oil massage with lotion for 7 mins (yes I even timed it) +Hot towel wipe down immediately after the massage +Duration Time: 45minutes from the moment I sat down to the moment I left the door PROS: +Very clean decor +Quiet and relaxing with peaceful music +Complimentary water with a slice of lemon +Tools are sterilized and sealed in blue bags +OPI nail polishes CONS: -I didn't like the toe scrub with the small brush, the bristles were too stiff and didn't feel pleasant at all for the quick 15secs my nail technician scrubbed my poor toes - Although they had a set price for their pedicure. I wish they had a list of prices for add-ons and other services they have available. -Small section of nail polish color OVERALL: This salon is pretty nice and I will come back if I'm around the area for a nice quiet pedicure. I always get the gel mani and pedi wherever I go (mostly in San Francisco) however, I was in a dire need of a pedi so I came here reading reviews since they have 4.5 stars on average. The staff for the most part was friendly initially, accommodating, and the space was fairly clean. Great. However, not even in San Francisco, Berkeley, New York or anywhere I've been for that matter have I ever paid more than $50 dollars for a gel pedicure ALONE. this place charged me $50 FOR A GEL PEDICURE..the woman took a while to give me price as well-- she was speaking in a foreign language to another worker while turning to look at me then proceeded to tell me my pedi was $50 dollars *rude*....I mean, really?? Then she hovered over me (since I usually tip in cash I proceeded to sign the paper receipt w/out writing in a tip amount) she looked at me waiting for a tip making me feel really uncomfortable, so eventually I paid plus tip, $55 dollars... Worse part is the gel was peeling within 5 days. ugh. so disappointing...do they just look at customers and profile them as to whether or not they should charge them more or less? Honestly, that's what it felt like, and it made me so uncomfortable I will not be going back. read more

Im getting a pedicure as i write this. So far everything is great. There are 2 technicians one doing hands and the other doing feet. I sat down and the brought me a little snack and some cucumber lemon water. All of the tools she used came directly out of a sealed sanitizing bag-like the ones dr tools come in. As the technician cleaned and cut my nails, she was very thorough but careful and gentle. They use disposable nail files and foot buffer thinggys. The only thing so far that they need, a price list. There is no menu at all..im sittin here looking around wanting more services but they are not listed. Today was my first time going to Zen and let me tell you, I am definitely coming back. The place is tucked away in a random strip mall located in the middle of a residential neighborhood and it's truly a gem. I was shocked that the place only had one person getting a manicure when I went in. They took me right away. The salon was spotless and the ambience was very relaxing. The lemon-cucumber water Ann gave me was delicious! Now, I have gotten A LOT of shellac manicures and this experience was by far the best. I loved the work my previous nail tech did--she was great. But today was something else. It was nice to see the tools coming out of a brand new sanitized plastic bag. Kim started my manicure and did an amazing job shaping and getting rid of my cuticles...something that didn't happen at my other salon. The shellac color selection is limited but I didn't have trouble finding a few shades I liked. Ann ended up applying my color and finishing my manicure because Kim had to do a pedicure which was no problem at all. Ann was SO friendly and kind and explained to me the type of gel she was using for my nails and really took her time to precisely apply the gel and color. I didn't expect the hand massage at the end! What a treat! My hands and arms smell amazing from the lotion she used. For the gel shellac manicure I was charged $28 which I had no issue paying. Yes, it is pricier than the salon I previously went to but this experience was great and comfortable and something I look forward to receiving again. read more

I didn't mind waiting a bit. They were so customer service oriented and apologetic that I was waiting. The end result was worth the wait! They were quick, yet did a very good job. This is a new nail salon that opened about 2 months ago. I paid $30 for a mani/pedi and $15 more for a brow and lip waxing. I have been looking for a new nail salon, and this one will be it! PROS: -They give water and small snacks - I have never been to a nail salon where they give me snacks. -They have great massage chairs -They accommodated my request to get a mani/pedi at the same time so I can be done earlier -easy parking -THE MOST IMPORTANT: I am the master of chipping my nail polish on the first day. This is the end of the second day, and none of my nails are chipped. I have NEVER been anywhere where I can actually still enjoy my polish more than an hour, so this is the reason why they get 5 stars despite the cons below. -They take at least visa and mastercard (though they may take more - I can't tell which other ones they take since they didn't have a sign on the door) CONS: -they are a little new so they only have 3 foot spa stations. Not great for groups. They seem to have a lot more manicure stations, but when I went, they only had 2 people working so they were running a little behind -the place doesn't look completely finished since there seems to be room for more foot spa stations. They also don't list their prices or licenses. -They didn't have a huge selection of nail polish. They have a decent amount so I can find one that I wanted, but it's not as large as some of the larger nail salons -a little hard to find - trust your GPS even if it sends you into neighborhoods -they don't rush things, which is good if you're the client they are working on at that time, but not great if you're waiting. read more

I have been to plenty of places to get a pedicure and I must say that this place by far is the best. It is impeccably clean and has never smelled of strong chemicals. It's in a quiet location (conveniently close to home) so I feel the relaxation continues even on my way to my car afterwards. This place has never had more than 3 other clients in the salon on once which indicates HIGH quality for me. They aren't concerned with overbooking for sake of profit. They take their time and are attentive when working on my feet (my cuticles are outrageous) and include a leg/foot exfoliation and hot towel massage with their basic pedicure (price $23). You can't beat that! I enjoy the little plate of Asian cracker snacks they bring out for my enjoyment too :-) Well worth the time and trip to this little gem! read more

Received a Signature Pedicure upon my first visit here and couldn't be happier!! Thuit ("Rose") did a fantastic job on my pedicure, I felt so relaxed and comfortable! I can tell she has pride and happiness in the work she does. The owner, Dao ("Diana") is very welcoming and the environment she has made is very grounding. Love this local nail spa! It's clean and super comfortable. The owner and other staff are friendly. They usually offer you a small cup of water and have gentle music in the background. I like to call ahead to make my appointment to be sure they have someone available, but they have been great at accommodating walk-ins when they can. Parking is easy, and the area's safe. Pros: Conveniently located near home in a tucked away shopping center. I never had to wait very long and Ann is great at listening to what you want when it comes to shape, length, style, etc. I only had to tell her once and she remembered. The shop is quiet and soothing if you're looking to relax (almost too quiet) and there is a great selection of shellac polishes. Polish lasted about 2 weeks without any lifting or chipping. The best part is that it is VERY clean and prices are competitive especially for the neatness of the shop. Cons: It is hard for them to accommodate walk-ins or add-ons because there are not very many women there. It is best to book an appointment specifically for what you want so they can plan accordingly. They also take their time in most things so if you are in a rush you might want to opt for a simple mani. My mom tried some of the other women there but they could not file her nails straight.
