We stopped by on a Thursday during lunch and it was empty and quiet. The host/server was really nice and made it a point to check on us throughout our visit. For lunch, I had the beef fried rice with no veggies. It was flavorful, fresh, and very filling. My only complaint is that it was a little oily/greasy. My husband had the combination yakisoba noodles which has chicken, beef, shrimp and veggies and neither he nor my three year old have any complaints. Since it was lunch time and we had our daughter with us, we stuck with sodas, but they have many alcoholic options, like Sake. I'm glad we checked this little place out and that it's close to home. Do not eat here. Peyton is the rudest hostess I've ever met. We ordered multiple rolls. One my daughter did not like at all. She ordered a more expensive roll and they would only give partial credit on the non eaten roll. She even argued with us very loudly across the restaraunt. Will not be back read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. The fish is BAD. Ordered over $100 worth of take out and this is the product we were given for the nigiri. Not only did they tell us we were lying when we said the fish was bad, denied fixing it, and said "I don't know what to tell you," but the attitude of their manager John was RUDE and immensely unprofessional. read more

We weren't overly impressed but it's decent weeknight sushi. We came in on a Wednesday night around 530 and it was pretty quiet but the service was decently attentive. The udon noodles were super thick and gooey but that's what our toddler likes so it was a win in his book. The crazy roll was pretty good, I usually avoid deep fried rolls but the fish inside still was good and raw so it was a good balance. I ate here one time and it was enough for me, not only did I get salmonella the next day. The manager was also a little racist. They sat me at an unclean table, and when I asked why it they said they had other tables available even though there wasn't only 10 customers. Not a great experience. read more

Came for lunch and purchased their lunch special, 2 sushi rolls for $12. I picked a salmon and tuna sushi roll. I asked for no cucumber because to me, it ruins the sushi and I was left with the smallest piece of salmon and tuna. It's as small as when you clip your nails and that part of the nail falls off.. that was what was in my sushi. I left hungry. For being a Friday night around 5pm I was wondering if they'd be busy with a dinner rush but the restaurant was only 1/3 occupied by customers. I was concerned the lack of customers during what should be a busier day and time may mean our experience wouldn't be too great but alas we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We were greeted and seated fast. A prompt drink order was taken and delivered. Appetizer was ordered and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. For the appetizer we got the Sumo Platter with Egg rolls, Crab Rangoon, Shrimp Tempura, and Gyoza. This platter is of the deep fried variety; the fillings were all delicious but there was definitely a heavier batter used. The Crab Rangoons were my favorite; very nice flavor. My friend ordered a Sumo box and it was quite a lot of food! I ordered a Philadelphia Roll, Spicy Tuna Toll, and a specialty roll called the Moon Roll. Everything was delicious! The rice to fish and other filling ratios were perfect. Overall, other than the heavy fried appetizer, the sushi was amazing! Like most place they charge for a side of sauce - this is something I do not like but what can you do and they have a great Spicy Mayo sauce. Our waiter was very attentive throughout our dinner. We will definitely be returning and I am hoping that ordering take out will taste just as delicious! read more

Pretty mediocre. Half of the specialty rolls are a jazzed up California roll. We had the tuna tower, caterpillar, and the holiday special. Everything was fresh but without flair. The experience here is generally really average; nice selection of rolls, plenty of options for hot platters, and overall, a really nice menu. The prices could be better, but given the sushi is made fresh, I can't argue with the cost. However, the past couple of times I've gone here, it's been super subpar. The staff isn't very attentive, despite there hardly being anyone there, and you also realize that half of the sushi rolls are variations of the same thing. My most recent experience had me quite upset with how the situation was handled. A friend of mine ordered ramen. The soup that was brought out looked like dishwater straight out of a college dorm. A sorry excuse for an egg was cracked on top, the bowl itself looked unappealing. That's not the worst of it. The ramen itself looked like something you can literally cook in your own kitchen. A tiny .39 cent pack, and charging how much? When she took a bite out of it, she recoiled so much, I thought she was going to gag out loud. Naturally, we told our waitress about what she'd just eaten, and she dismissed us, asking if we wanted soy sauce for our food. When we told her how horrid the ramen we got was, she walked away. Come the check, my friend sees that she was indeed charged for the ramen she didn't even touch. We told our waitress that we aren't paying for something she didn't touch, nor eat, but we were told, "If you ordered it, you need to pay for it". We tried to tell her that we shouldn't be charged for something we didn't touch/like, but she was so firm about it, she told us she can talk to her boss about it. Totally unacceptable attitude. Visited Sumo Sushi over the weekend. The restaurant is small but well decorated and clean. Our group of 8 was greeted with warm smiles and gracious servers. The menu is filled with a great sushi selection and items for those who are not into sushi. My youngest ordered the chicken teriyaki Sumo box, which she loved. I ordered the crawfish volcano roll. It was delicious! Each person in our party tried to order something different so we could try a little of everything. All rolls were a nice size and had great flavor. I also have to say the plate presentation was impressive. I wish my friends would've allowed me to take pictures of their pretty plates but they hate that I take pictures of my food Sumo Sushi is a great find in North Fort Worth! I have been eating at Sumo Sushi for years, since the restaurant opened and was originally owned by two brothers. There have been times that the food was amazing and times it could have been better. This being said, I have never sent anything back returning faithfully almost weekly spending as much as $150 each weekend as well as occasionally ordering on doordash. Tonight was the first time I have ever returned a dish. The dish was ordered spicy, but was so spicy it was inedible. We requested a replacement dish and sent the order back to the kitchen. As such, you can imagine my surprise when I was charged for the dish that was sent back. After requesting the item be removed, the owner/manager, John. refused to issue a credit despite knowing I was a regular customer and the kind of money I spend in his establishment on a regular basis. I am a huge advocate of supporting local businesses and that will not change. However, I will not be returning to this merchant as he would rather allow a loyal customer walk away and give up 150/weekly than issue a 12.95 credit for something that was inedible. read more
