They changed a couple things on the menu since we were last here. Looks like either we ordered the wrong stuff the first time sushi wise but this time they are stepping up their visual game. We saw a table with a treasure box looking sushi. My brother ordered the leevily roll and it came with a cool plating that had fog coming out of it. And the taste was good too. I changed up my order and was wanting a richer broth so spicy tonkotsu it is. I did medium level spice. I believe the pork belly could be more tender to elevate the dish even more. I've never tried chicken ramen like this before, and it was good! I'm honestly not a huge ramen person, but my family really loved to go to ramen spots, so occasionally I get my own ramen but usually just try a bit of my husband's ramen. But since I hadn't seen a chicken ramen like this before, I thought I'd try it! It was worth it for trying, but I probably wouldn't get it again just because again, I'm not so crazy about ramen so I don't eat it often. The spider roll was great and presented very pretty. The steamed bao was very good, definitely recommend it! I also got milk tea, but forgot to check if it would come with boba or not - it automatically includes it, and I don't like boba, but I was able to drink most of it without actually getting any boba up the straw. I love the decor of this place. There are some cute anime characters from One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, etc. They have a big private parking lot shared with other businesses. The food presentation was great. My son had the chicken fried rice. I had the spicy miso ramen and selected a "medium" level. Let's just say that the heat was very tolerable - maybe I could have kicked it up a couple of notches. I've eaten a lot of ramen in my lifetime. You can tell the broth was packed with ingredients. My boyfriend got the spicy beef ramen at level 5, while I went with the spicy fried chicken ramen at level 3. He said his was just okay, although the beef rib was tender and fell right off the bone. My chicken wasn't fried as listed, but I didn't want to send it back and wait longer. The broth was also way too salty, so I couldn't finish it and let my boyfriend take over. I don't know why but he dump my ramen and when the time I ask for my ramen he thinks I said no box but even my friend heard me say the ramen is for box to go then he became defensive accusing me of I didn't say no box. I went with my mom on a Friday at noon. The wait staff was appropriately attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is so fun with anime themed. We sat by the windows and were easily able to lower the shade for ourselves. The Lubbock Poke Bowl was amazing and super fresh. The spicy chicken ramen can be ordered with no spice, or three levels of heat. I chose level 1 spiciness and it was as expected and very delicious. We both would eat there every day if we could! There was a waiter robot that seemed to be in training while we were there. It was a bit distracting. It would have been a better thought out investment with fewer tables in the establishment. First time dining in with a friend and I was super disappointed. I don't know if they were having an off night, because I see all the good reviews but because of the first impression I got I will not be going back. Came in right before 8pm on a Tuesday, was sat promptly, ordered within 10 min of being there. My friend got a ramen and I ordered the Godzilla roll. The ramen came out within the next 10-15min, nothing too long, but then my sushi roll, took an additional 40+ min to come out. My friend waited the entire time to start eating his ramen. Then, when the roll came out it was the smallest portion of sushi I've ever had. The one upside, was that the sushi roll was very tasty. But to wait that long, eat, and still feel hungry after I left was disappointing. The wait staff apologized but did not comp my dish or give a free app, nothing to rectify the situation. Environment was nice, the wait staff was friendly, sushi roll was tasty, but going off of first impressions, waiting 40+ minutes on ONE sushi roll ordered, then to work up an appetite for that long and get 5 pieces? They'll give you an onion sauce for the hibachi- just dump in on the plate no questions asked... it's that good. The wantons were sweet and had crab stuffed in them. Perfect blend of crunchy and soft. The roll.... We've been on the search for the best fried rolls in DFW and we definitely found them. From the entrance and beyond. Hokkaido has an amazing atmosphere with a hint of anime art that is refreshing. To begin we ordered the cheese wonton which had the perfect blend of sweet and savory. I ordered the Spicy Miso ramen and my girlfriend had beef and shrimp hibachi. We both shared the Watauga role as well. First off for the price of the hibachi it is really affordable, considering other prices seen around town. The Ramen was the best ramen I've ever had. The options were amazing it was hard to just pick one roll. The food presentation was amazing not only was the food amazing to eat but to looked amazing as well. The service was superb. Came today for the grand opening as we were excited to have a ramen place open near us. We ordered the chasu beef buns and takoyaki as an appetizer. The takoyaki came first and was hot and tender and flavorful but a little fishy. The chasu buns ended up coming out with the ramen and Philadelphia roll we ordered. All of them took a while to get to the table. There was no beer or wine which was surprising and disappointing, so we just stuck with water. The chasu buns were pretty good and we liked the pink sauce they came with. The roll was really good, packed very thick and very fresh. That's were things took a turn for the worst. The ramen...my husband ordered the spicy tonkatsu and I ordered spicy miso. First off, when the bowls came, we couldn't tell the ramen apart save for a little bit of difference in the flavor of the broth. The broth flavor was really bland and lacking. We ordered spicy and there was no kick at all and very little in the way of flavor. It was so bland, my six month old baby was drinking the broth after I added chili paste to it! And then there was chili paste at the table, so why did I need to pay extra for spicy when I could have just did it myself? The soft boiled egg was good, the meat was tender with a little crisp on it from being grilled which was nice, but the ingredients in the bowl besides that were really blah too. It was very disappointing. Looks like we won't be coming back again which is a bummer considering how close it is to our home. read more
