My family and I go here for our fix in Habachi. They have made the necessary changes to their food that have improved the overall taste over the years that we have gone there. The service was very good constantly removing trash and dirty dishes during the evening. They did a very good job keeping drinks full and never hit the bottom of the glass. We have been here 100x or more with wait times averaging less than 2 mins even on busy evenings. They have not made many changes to their atmosphere during the last couple years but it's average. You will be in and out with good service in less than 2 hours. Overall I would recommend Kyushu as must go to place for Habachi. read more

Today was sleep in tackle lawn Sunday. Where you're hungry, want to eat a good meal and then get back to finish up the lawn work . Hesitantly we decided to eat before we stopped off at Lowe's and headed back to finish. Stay with me here. We were a little dirty. Not filthy. Not like we had mud all over us but dressed in work out clothes. Super casual. We entered and asked for a booth, The hostess took us to the back end of the booth where there were tables filled with other patrons. I wanted a bit more privacy and asked her to sit one booth back. She said no. Not to be deterred I sit down at the booth we wanted and felt most Comfortable. We wanted some privacy and not have people all around us. The request was to literally sit one booth back...this hostess wasn't having it. She literally demanded we sit at her booth of choice. Today, it became a "I'm not moving". She "slams" the menus and walks off. That behavior had to be addressed. I'm a reasonable person but expect a certain level of customer service. After all the price of eating out....isn't cheap these days and We eat here all the time. In fact, I became the DUKE again when checking in today.... #1 patron! I take great pride in the title. I discussed my frustration with the manager. When I asked to speak with her the hostess pointed to a manager sitting at the table vs going and getting her. Rude was an understatement. The manager didn't seem overly concerned. All said, the food was wonderful. The Tuna Tower (we ask for no rice) needed more avocado. The Pan Seared dumplings Devine as usual and of course the crab Rangoon are other worldly. The spicy bad girl roll was tasty. We added cream cheese. My sister gets her usual....every time. Hibachi Filet mignon, fried rice and Ginger Salad. It's her absolute favorite and she enjoyed every bite. I don't think one person should drive the overall review but today's experience was stressful...The food 5 Stars. Consistent. That said the hostess has influence and today's 1 star review is for her an her alone. We also ran into Lencho. Lencho is the absolute best waiter. Sundays though he works on the hibachi grill side. Bummer. His smile would have turned the experience around. He's that good and we love him. This is the second time where We've not experience the best customer service. Ordered a celebratory platter from here three times. The Love Boat for 2 (12 pcs. sushi, 15 pcs. sashimi, California roll and godzilla roll) and added on an unagi roll and Alaska roll. My husband does not really eat sushi so it was all for me! Two meals each time. This is not high end sushi nor do i expect it to be. But I was still pretty impressed with the quality each time. Came here with a party of 9. Wait wasn't bad at all for a Friday. The hostesses refused to seat our party until everyone arrived. The hostesses were extremely rude & didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The waiter was forgetful and brought the wrong drink, then didn't want to bring the correct one. Besides the waiters and waitresses, the chef was amazing. He was fun and overall made it a great experience. The food was great (a bit salty though) and we all enjoyed the meal. We all got the Hibachi dinners, received big portions. I got the filet mignon. The white sauce they give you to dip was AMAZING. It also came with a soup & salad. The atmosphere feels quite dark and dated. The front is designed to block light from coming, lending a sort of dreary energy to the room. Hibachis are along the back of the store, just over the half wall from the booths where we sat and were quite loud. We ordered a few rolls from the lunch special, 3 rolls for $16. These were not the fancy rolls, so perhaps our expectations should have been lower, but they were dry, small, and not super interesting. Service was adequate but the server seemed a little distracted. Hibachi was hopping, so maybe that's where they give most of their attention. I came here on Christmas day as it was one of the very few places open on the holidays. I ordered a virgin mojito and it was disgusting. Pure lime juice. I sent it back bc there was no way any human could drink that. It was like as if the whole cup was just lime juice. I had the rest of my party try it and we all agreed. Food was cooked fairly fast. Hibachi are one of my fav things to do but not the after math of this experience. I came home with so much nausea, then i had violent vomitting with ended with my stomach burning so much, not that this was bad enough but it also caused me to be on the toilet the other half the night. The food was so good at the moment but it ruined the ending of my night. On top of that, i understand its Christmas and you are working but our chef kept offering us "free sake" only because he could use the excuse to take his own shot. In total ...he took 4 shots mid cooking and goes "shot for you! Shot for me" . He also made a comment to us and said that he worked 12 hours, no break, and no lunch. Why would you say that to us? We have been looking for an good Hibachi grill in Northern Ft Worth. We found a really good one at Kyushu. I had the Filet & Scallops, grilled to perfection. The grilled vegetables were delicious and they serve you fried rice AND noodles!! Now this is a noisy fun place. My daughter wanted me and her daughter to have the hibachi experience as neither of us had been to a hibachi restaurant before. I was on a mission not to need a to go box so I decided to order Chilean sea bass from the appetizer portion of the menu but the server told me the portion would be pretty small. I ordered chicken fried rice from the "kitchen" portion of the menu instead not knowing what I was doing. My daughter ordered chicken fried rice dinner from what must be the hibachi section so we did get the full experience. The ginger dressing on the tiny salad was delicious to me. The miso soup doesn't taste like anything at all to me. We enjoyed the chef, the flames and the majority of the food. My order was big enough for 2 or 3 people so I did end up with a to go box after all. I ordered iced tea, half sweetened/ half unsweetened but it tasted exactly like just an unsweetened tea. And I noticed the only ones at the table who were offered drink refills were the diners who ordered water. I started sipping slower to make my tea last. read more

Went on a Tuesday evening and it was pretty busy. There was a wait around 8pm which we waited for about 15 mins for two for a table that was not hibachi. The server was unable to find us a table at that time but sat us at an end table that looked like it was for storage. Lol. Our waitress was great until my entree came out with cold veggies. I asked her about this and she said "we use cold vegetables yeah sorry" Okay grosss....but the chicken was delicious and 2 breasts for 17$ I'll take it. Came with miso soup. We had an excellent dining experience at Kyushu Hibachi & Sushi for my best friend's birthday! We were seated right away with no wait. Once seated, we were immediately greeted by a server who took our drink orders. After only a short wait to fill the rest of the table, our server took our hibachi orders and the chef got to cooking! Kyushu provides all of the fun of a traditional hibachi restaurant, which is to say the chef puts on a show - onion volcano, sending veggies across the table into open mouths, and providing free sake shots to whoever is brave enough to take on the challenge! Plus, our chef was very considerate of all food allergies (multiple people at our table had special dietary restrictions including myself). The meal itself was delicious and portion sizes generous. My only criticism would be that there was way too much ginger dressing on our appetizer salads. Otherwise, everything was excellent! Our server also made my best friend feel special on her birthday with a pink crown and free fried ice cream with a song! If you want a relaxed dining experience with limited interaction with the staff, this is probably not the place for you. My husband and I were excited to finally try this place but unfortunately did not feel welcomed once entering. The host kinda just stared at us when we entered with no greeting first and then asked us how many. I Proceeded to say 2 and once seated I said "thank you" she didn't say anything. Our waitress finally comes , no greeting as well. We ask for water and she brings the water back. She just silently walks away after and just shows no interest. She comes back and I proceed to order sushi. Once done we give her the menus and she SNATCHES the menus from our hand. My husband quickly notices and I immediately walk to her and express my frustrations I say "May you cancel the order because we don't feel welcomed and we also don't like how you snatched our menus out of our hand, we felt that was kinda rude. She says "okay and goes to cancel the order". Didn't say sorry or anything. That just shows she doesn't care. Then as I'm leaving I asked for a manager and express to the manager how I feel. She hears me out and gets an understanding and says "I'm sorry and she will tell her boss" and that's it. This should've been handled differently. I also expressed how it was out first time here. We most definitely won't be back and we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I didn't even get to try the food because I was disgusted with the service. Just to sum it all together... we were African American/Black. Being treated with horrible behavior is uncalled for when we want to give your establishment a try. Each summer, we have a "Cousins Camp" for our 5 grands. One of the things we did this year was take them to a Hibachi style restaurant. One of them had never been to a place like this before. They were empty at 11:15. Our chef was great with the kids (13 to 6). Lots of fire and flare. The one who had never been to a Hibachi restaurant before REALLY liked the onion ring "volcano". First time here with friends last night. The place was nice. We didn't do hibachi (but we smelled like smoke after dinner). Vent is not good . Our server is just okay. Sake was really good. The kyushu roll was really good (number 8 on the menu!- I remember our server telling my friend "don't give me the number, tell me the name" ). Their calamari is definetely a no. This is a cute place for a date night, dim lighting and of course most hibachis are hit or miss. Upon entering we were greeted and seated within ten minutes or less. The only reason for one star less is the up charge for fried rice.... Who honestly goes to a hibachi and wants steamed rice? The chef was very friendly and cooked everything really well. I am 75 years old and had my second spinal surgery 5 weeks ago. My husband, daughter and I visited for my husband's birthday. I ordered shrimp and Sea Bass which is a higher price than the standard chicken and sirloin. Within two hours of arriving home I got diarrhea and terrible vomiting. I had to go to the hospital with stomach pain level 8 or 9, and waited 1 1/2 hours to be seen. I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis (food poisoning). Probably the Sea Bass was infected because it is ordered infrequently and kept past the expiration date. I emailed the restaurant 3 days ago and have not heard anything from them- No Contact, No Apology, No refund, No Nothing! Do not take a chance by eating here. After several surgeries and now having food poisoning my health now is only fair. read more

Our first time was a special 17th birthday dinner. So I needed it to be good. Well.....I was quite impressed just walking in the door. The decor is fresh and very nice. Very clean and we noticed several hibachi grills. So they can handle quite a few people. We made reservations and sat right down. Their staff was very prompt Gerri f our drink orders and then our chef came out. This guy was awesome. Funny and super talkative. They started up the grill within 10 mins of sitting down and the real show started. This guy was one of the best hibachi chefs I've seen in awhile. Our food was delicious and well cooked. Quick "meal" on a Friday night to have a couple of specialty sushi rolls. Very organized check-in as a party of 2 with an iPad. Was seated pretty swiftly. Getting to our table, our server didn't show up for almost 10 mins while we watched adjacent parties wrap up their meal and another party get seated, receive their beverages and even put their order in before our server even showed up. By the time she showed up, we had our order determined. Partially why it was "quick" because who knew how long this server was going to take to delay our meal. We had a the Beef Angus roll and the Amazing Tuna roll. Overall tasty and really enjoyed the smokiness of the angus steak on the roll. Been coming here almost once a month since they opened. My latest and last visit was the worst experience, and treatment I received by the Hibachi cook. My wife and I sat with 2 couples, along with a third with a 2 yo. I was hungry and ordered the Trio with steak, shrimp, and chicken for myself. Another couple ordered the trio (one order) with an extra plate to share, steak, shrimp, and scallops. Then the couple with the toddler both had steak with a kids steak. The issue started with the prep. When the cook was giving sauces, I asked for double sauces. He asked which, and I said both. He seemed to take offense, but I didn't pay any mind. Then comes the fried rice, noodles, and veggies. He skimped on my wife's and my fired rice, but I didn't say anything. He then went around and gave healthy servings to all, with extra for the toddler and his dad. He then did the veggies, and he barely gave me any. Like less than half of what I usually receive, and less than all on the table. On comes the steak, and he gave a generous portion to the couple that was sharing a plate, then my portion was about 1/3rd of what they got. But I was extremely annoyed when the toddler was served a larger portion. The cook saw my displeasure in my face then said something about how I ordered the trio. Then he served shrimp. He must've felt guilty as he then served me 12 shrimps but only gave the couple sharing 8 between the two of them. His "trio" portion argument was BS at that point. Took my whole family out to this restaurant on 3/13/2025 and will DEFINATELY be going back. They cook the food in front of you on the grill and big flames come up and the kids especially like it. When we were ordering, I requested my meal be cooked in the back as I have a fish allergy. The waiter said he could put down that I had an allergy and my food could be cooked along with everyone else, except they would cook the fish and shell fish after all the chicken and steak had been cooked. The way they made accommodations for me made me want to come back again and again. Excellent food, staff, waiters and atmosphere. It is a must see and place to go. I give them a 5 Star for sure!!!!!
