I had to get my timing belt put on. It was $2000, but worth it to have my car running again. I only have the one car and so they got it going in just under a week. Well, to first start off. Being a woman and going into a car shop is always very nerve racking. I never know if I'm going to be ripped off or not. My family and myself have been going to sun auto for a very long time, and I have not felt that once. They've always done me well and for the fair price. This morning, I came in for an oil change right at opening time, did not have an appointment. Even though they were fully booked, they were able to squeeze me in before their AM appointment super quick. I appreciated that very much. The guys here are great and super reliable. Great customer service compared to most auto shops I've spoken and dealt with. I brought my 1996 Acura in for an oil leak and it took 2 trips to fix because the leak was so bad and oil was everywhere. When they couldn't find it at first, they added a dye, had me drive a few hundred miles and bring it back, and then they were able to fix it no problem. I spoke with multiple mechanics about it before bringing it in and Sun Auto had the best information for me before seeing the car and had the best repair price compared to others. One mechanic even wanted to take apart most of the engine to find it and charge a ridiculous amount for it. They had my car in the shop twice and worked on it for a while, and still beat out everyone else's quotes. Not only that, I had previously been side swiped by an unlicensed driver, which basically pulled the front bumper off the car but left not much other damage. The mountings were mostly destroyed and I had the bumper held in place with gorilla tape. Then while they fixed the oil leak, they also went out of their way to better attach the front bumper so it no longer looks like it's hanging off. They didn't mention fixing it or anything. They just took care of my car while they had it. Thanks guys and I'm coming back shortly for those front end CVs we spoke about and now an alternator too. read more

I have sent my vehicles here and they always took care of me. Just a couple of weeks ago, I told my son to take his car to get the breaks checked because it was making some squeaky noises. They checked it and said that there was nothing wrong with it and charged us nothing. I have no doubt that if it was a different shop, they may have easily said that the pads need to be changed or something so they can make some money. I was recommend by a good friend of mine about Sun Auto Repair. I must say that this place is great from the knowledge of the employees to how clean this repair shop is compared to the ones that I've been. I came in for a clutch master cylinder install, my original one was on its way out and I already had the replacement part along with the fluid. They quoted me the best price that I was shopping around for, and only took 3.5 hours to complete. Other shops charged me a bit more and double the time to install the part. I would highly recommend Sun Auto Repair to anyone looking for a basic oil change and transmission fluid flush and major transmission repair and engine rebuild. Before I found Sun Auto, I had taken my car to a local shop near me in north county, because I was hearing strange noises under my car. I was skeptical about their diagnosis because they told me several things were wrong and quoted me a questionably high price. Then, my boyfriend recommended going to his usual spot, Sun Auto. I spoke with Huey and he was extremely friendly and helpful. He immediately assisted me when I came to the shop and quickly serviced my car. I have brought my car for multiple reasons. From as simply as an oil change, to replacing my alternator, spark plugs, ect. Seriously, if you're looking for a HONEST and reliable auto mechanic this is where you want to take it too. So my moms been taking her car for a while and I've been taking mine to the dealership. The dealership automatically rips you off let me just put that out there lol. Well, yesterday my car didn't start. Full blown panic mode because I had to get my daughter from school. I called huy and he told me bring it in and they will work on it right away. I called AAA had it towed down there. I called just to let him know it was coming and he told me they had a guy waiting for it. That was at 2:18. My car got there about 2:45ish and they called me at 3:00 to tell me what was wrong with my car ( it was the battery) and gave me a very reasonable price. I was able to pick my car up at 4:10! Seriously?! This is amazing! He even gave me the battery record so if it happens again I can exchange the battery for free. I won't ever go back to the dealership again! Customer for life! I have been going to Sun Auto for the past 15 years. Prior to going to Sun, I was burned by a couple of shops, but my first few times taking my cars to Sun Auto put my fears to rest. They are honest and up front, and very nice to deal with. Huey and his Pop are awesome, so much so, that my family now takes their cars to them for service. I have gone in for break jobs, oil changes, engine light issues, car stuttering (thought it was a huge deal, and it turned out to be some bad spark plugs!), bad catalytic converter (and after some research, Huey was right on with his estimate). This is my first time at Sun Auto and tried them out from all the great Yelp reviews. When I first met Huy (pronounced Huey) and after he diagnosed all the problems, he was very nice, very professional and up front with his very reasonable quote. He did a great job with my rear brake drums, replaced the rear shocks and accessory serpentine belt. They also flushed the brake fluid and drained and refilled my coolant. I could have done most of this work myself but he quoted such a good price, I couldn't pass up his offer to save me so much time and effort.
