The technician who came out refused to accept a coupon posted on the company's website, proceeded to be argumentative and not breakdown any of the costs assocaiated with getting our garage door fixed, and menacingly threatened "Karma is a B----" when we told him we would not be requiring his services and instead were going with a local competitor. ...all of this, not as big of a deal as it was when we called the supervisor and explained the situation, didn't receive an apology for his employee's conduct and behavior, and then proceeded to explain that we (a customer) didn't use the correct terminology when we spoke with them. (the people knowledgeable in this industry and it's terminology) Still waiting on an apology, gave them more than one chance to say it. Just had these people replace 2 garage door springs. I was quoted $169.00 and when they were done I was presented with a bill for $221.00. When I questioned him about this I was told that he was nice enough to cut the service charge in half since I was a repeat customer. The worst experience we've ever had with any company. The owner of the company, Chris, called my husband at 7:30 at night when he had called earlier with a question on the bill. He was so rude and unprofessional he even threatened my husband saying "I will tap your ass." We called this company because there was a sticker on our door opener for them. A subcontracted individual, that ran his own garage door company, showed up. After giving us an estimate, he told us that the manager/owner would call us back as we asked about the cash price. The owner, Chris, came out to 'repair our garage'. Once at our home, he informed us that there weren't any parts that needed replaced and all that he would need to do would be to lube some parts and make some minor adjustments. He gave us a bill for $160 which we paid cash for. Later, we called to have him explain the bill as the total didn't make sense.That's when he yelled at and threatened my husband . Sun Devil Garage Door Repair is a company that has many hidden fees which are not disclosed until the work is done. The springs on our garage door broke and needed to be replaced. I looked for garage door repair companies online and saw Sun Devil Garage Door Repair. I googled to find reviews or information about them, but at the time I didn't find anything. I gave them a call for a price quote and I was told that it would cost $89.99 for parts and labor to repair the springs. I had researched a little beforehand and thought that was a fair price, so a technician was sent out. When the technician arrived, he asked what I had been quoted. I told him that I was told I would be charged $89.99 for parts and labor plus I had a $30 coupon from their website. I verified that $90 minus the coupon would be my total cost and he went to work. 20 minutes later, he was done except for the fact that he said I needed new wheels for $150. I told him that I wasn't interested in that and he went to his truck for the invoice. What he came back with was a total joke. First, I was charged $89.99 a piece for 2 springs. I figured that may be reasonable since he said that 2 were broken. Then there was a $99.00 service fee that he said he reduced to $69.99 to reflect the $30.00 coupon. Then there was a $9.99 charge for lube service which consisted of spraying a WD-40 like substance on the wheels, which I hadn't asked for. He said he took that off although after the fact, I realized that it was indeed included in the total. Then there was a $29.99 shop supply fee. He couldn't tell me what this was for, but it obviously is a made up fee to cover the $30.00 off for the coupon. So my total with tax went from the $89.99 + tax that I was originally quoted to $306.32. I refused to pay the service call fee and ended up paying $236.32 which as I stated before includes the $9.99 for the lube service that he said he wasn't charging me for, and the $30 made up shop supply fee. I would highly recommend NOT using this company. read more

well I really respected sun devil, until I needed a two minute adjustment on the settings. they told me there would be a trip charge 69.99, I was fine with that.. but there is also an automatic 29.99 shop supply preprinted on the bill and charged on top of the house call..I questioned the charge since they just turned two screws on the opener and they said it is standard, and they did spray my hinge with lubricant. Everyone has to make a buck, but they gouge . I no longer trust them.. and will no longer use or recommend them. I don't mind paying for service, but I hate being deceived and gouged. They are heavy handed with pricing, be scared very scared.. just because you get a quote, does not mean that is the price. read more

I had a broken spring on my garage door. The door wouldn't shut, so I couldn't go anywhere until it was repaired. Unfortunately, my choice was Sun Devil Garage to come and fix it. They first promised to be out in 2 hours. They did call every hour, telling me of another hour delay. They finally showed up 5 hours after my call. My final bill was $425, which was for a spring, new rollers, and new cables. I now know that was very high for the service performed. Look around if you are in a situation where you need your garage door serviced. Don't choose these guys. read more
