I've been coming here for 20 years (when it was the Austin Heights Diner). Extremely good customer service and wonderful food. My favourite restaurant. I really like the large portions and the flavours. The owner, Heidi, is very hard working and she is a great host. I like that there's a diverse mix of Chinese, Canadian and westernized Chinese food. Lots of vegetarian options too. My favourites are the Bean Sprout Chow mein, the mushroom fried rice, the French fries, and the garlic broccoli. They also serve alcoholic drinks and good tea and coffee. The breakfast menu is really good too. They also offer a kids menu and a lunch menu. Ordering for oick-up or dine-in is usually very fast.

Usual typical chinese restaurant, interior is more updated than the exterior. They have a private room for special occasions. The food is so so your typical chow mein , sweet & sour pork, beef with broccoli but the only thing that stands out is the roasted pig which wasn't in the menu. Extra food brought in by the host.

If you're familiar with Chinese food, and want decent quality chinese food, this place ain't it. The majority of the patrons are non Asian for a reason. Restaurant was spacious, and there was plenty of seating at 10:45 am on a Friday. I went here for their lunch menu, and ordered their sweet and sour pork and also ginger beef. Portions were good. Came with a small bowl of fried rice and soup. One bite though, and I had buyers regret. Food wasn't hot, only warm. Pork wasn't crispy. Sauce wasn't sweet or sour enough. Same with their sweet and sour soup. Ginger beef was breaded a little to thick. Basically the idea was there. You know it's supposed be a sweet and sour pork dish, but the execution wasn't good. I'd say the quality would be of T&T take out tier, or maybe even less... because I never seemed to get buyer's remorse for an $8.50 meal at T&T. The only thing that I'd say was good was their fried rice that came with the lunch meal. Just eggs, rice, and soy sauce, but it was done right. Not too salty, fragrant, each bite leaves you wanting to eat the next bite. Does this place deserve a 1 star? No. Did I get food poisoning? No. Did I break down and cry like some of the other yelpers here (you know who I'm talking about), no, I did not break down and cry. The service was normal. The redeeming quality would be the portion size for $8.50. Sure beats eating ramen at home. I only came here because I saw the other reviews talked about dim sum, but I don't think I'll ever come here again. Also, take out boxes are free now, and not $0.50 like what another yelper had said.

Tough Yelpers here, it's as authentic as it gets in that they're Chinese chefs. While they do cater to the Westerners, they're making the popular tasty dishes: just here to get filled up, right? Lol Ordered the Ma Po tofu. Even had more preserved veggies than I expected. Good value for $12 or so. Smooth pieces (guess tofu can't be hard) and lots sauce. Kudos for using environment-friendly takeout. It's a new location from North Road due to Skytrain, where they were there for 10+ years or so. This one is spiffier, 3 tv's and booth seating. Actually, quite huge, fits 100 ppl. Free parking. And it's truly legit, accepts debit/credit lol. Friendly service.

It's a mom and pop popular diner with not pretty but still very tasty food. I've been here twice - once enjoying their breakfast hash dish, and once again recently enjoying a $8.95 sweet and sour pork with rice dish that comes with a individual sized wonton soup. Fantastic home style cooking. But be sure to be verbal for drink refills as they get busy with everything else it seems they forget to check.

It's small but has quite many seats, the lady is very friendly. She gave me a photo album to order from which is so fun and I have never seen anything like this before and every restaurant should 10000000% do the same. I ordered the 酸辣肥肠粉 pork intestine sour spicy noodle(added an egg) and potato shreds cold stir凉拌土豆丝 Ok I have to to say, the potato dish is THE BEST i have had in canada and it is a very very high compliment from me, since I order that whenever I can. It's soooo good and I ate the whole plate in a few mins. The pork intestine noodle is so so, I wish there are more pork intestine, I had 4-5 pieces and they r quite small, the egg tho, is sooooo good, it's worth it to add one to the noodle. They also add a ton of peanuts so if u have allergies u need to tell them, they wont ask u. She also gave me a small ice jelly dessert for free in the end, it tastes so good??!!! I am so full at this point otherwise I would ask if I can eat a full portion one lol Overall I will come back!

This place is tiny, as in it can seat about 20 people, and every table had people and had piping hot food on each. Both me and my friend needed to wait a few minutes till someone left, and when we got seated, they gave us their regular menu, and later on gave us a picture book.. and if you guessed it.... everything on their menu with a separate picture. My friend ordered his bowl of spicy pork chop glass noodles in soup, and I had a dry version of spicy noodles with pork. We also ordered their deep fried tofu, deep fried chicken, and a plate of spicy cucumber. Every dish was done just right, and what I mean by that is that every hot dish seemed to be made to order, and it was confirmed when we spoke to the lady there. The spicy cucumber dish came out, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients, the cucumber, although the chili oil used was spicy, due to the freshness of the cucumber, was sweet too. The deep fried tofu had a nice hard outer deep fried shell, and yet the inside was soft and really hot, the chicken took the longest, but this was worth waiting for, with the thin deep fried batter, I don't think I have ever had chicken this hot in temperature, and it was great. Both noodle dishes were huge, and I wondered how my friend ended up eating all of his, I had to take 1/3 of mine home as it was too much. We also ordered a plum drink and a hawthorne drink and at the end was served complimentary jelly as dessert. This was a great meal and if you are in the area, I would recommend you try this place out.

This place has been here since I was a kid. Glad to see it's still here and I'm visiting again…read moreafter 20+ years. All I remember was that I liked their hot and sour soup. Not really an authentic Szechuan restaurant. 30 years ago, most chinese cuisines were cooked by hong kongers or south chinese people. So, most of these dishes are going to be a southern take on it. Hot and sour soup - price is awesome. $11 enough for at least 6 bowls. Souo base is missing a bit of flavor but it is jam packed with ingredients. Drunken chicken - it was ok. Little on the salty side. Shanghainese pan fried pork buns - these were probably the worst I've had. Not made in house and not properly pan fried. No juice, super dry, no fried bottom crust. Bean curd wrapped pork dim sum - surprisingly this came out last. At least 20 min has passed. This is a steamed dish but it came out with dried edges like it was sitting on a dry heater. Taste was ok. Mapo tofu - asked for extra spicy and extra numbing. Numbing was there but nowhere near real szechuan numbing. Was not spicy at all. Sauce was more oily than saucey. The price point reflects the quality. Things are either mediocre or a complete miss. Would come again to try only the better stuff. Staff was friendly. Came to try to refill the tea way more times than normal. The iron goddess tea tastes much better than a lot of dim sum places elsewhere.
