The food isn't worth the money. Owner's son is brash, will not allow substitutions for items i cannot eat. It's a small place with a few tables little else as far as ambiance goes. Would i recommend, no. There are a zillian asian restaraunts in the Coquitlam I'd recommend trying another place. read more

I really like the vegetarian options. They aren't currently offering dine-in, but it's very easy to pick-up. I've always had good service from the hardworking young guy who works the cashier. I recommend the mushroom fried rice. read more

I've been eating at Zhou's since 2016 when I lived in the area. It is no longer an eat in restaurant, they serve take out only so those cheaper lunch specials are also no longer. Boooo! The food is still really delish but the prices have risen dramatically $25+ dinner for 1 person which is quite steep but they also do not have any decent competition nearby. read more

Conveniently located in Como Lake Village with ample parking, Zhou's stands out in a neighbourhood with relatively limited Chinese offerings. It's not the type of place you'd necessarily take a date but I could definitely bring my family here for a quick, casual, and affordable dinner. Came by for lunch in between classes at SFU and was pleasantly surprised. Huge portions and quick/friendly service; hungry student couldn't ask for more. They have all the classic North American Chinese fare but I went for a simple pork fried rice with a side of lemon chicken. Not the cheapest but prices were comparable to what I normally get at an Asian supermarket but with better quality. Upset & Disappointed. Use to be our favourite place but it appears to have gone downhill, which is unfortunate because we were loyal customers. Overpriced and cutting corners when coming to the quality, taste and portion. The portion sizes have almost been cut in half which I wouldn't mind if the quality was there. Last and final time we ordered delivery it came to $80 for 2 large wonton soups, lettuce wraps and a dinner for 1! Together both soups consisted of noodles, 9 wontons, 2 shrimp, 4 pieces of broccoli and one piece of bbq pork for almost $40. Dinner for 1 which was $13 was rice (which was hidden under the two sides to appear larger in portion) 3 pieces of sweet & sour pork and chicken chop suey. I honestly tried to give them a fighting chance but knowing that we regularly ordered for years, they still tried to pass it off on us. read more

I decided to stop by for lunch and ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork (see picture). The portion size is on the large side, but there was more rice than the sweet & sour pork. Service is OK. The owner stays at the counter (at the back) and comes greet you with the menu in hand and a pot of tea as you come in and take a seat wherever you wish. When you're done, you go see him at the counter to pay your bill. For a strip mall, it was fine. It was comparable to any Chinese food at a food court. Service was quick and appropriate for lunch (if you are in a hurry on your lunch break, you will probably be safe). The place is very simple, no particular decor besides of the pair of Chinese Lucky Cats on the counter. read more

Westernized Chinese good at great prices. Not the best chinese good in the world, but it was fast, cheap, and tastes great. We'd ordered: Sweet & Sour Pork Chicken Chow Mein Breaded Almond Chicken Black Bean Sauce Fried Noodle (Beef) Szechuan Fried Noodle (Beef) I'm not kidding when I say there was hardly any meat. The flavor was lacking. And I'm pretty sure the chow mein was actually just spaghetti with sauce on it (I'm not even kidding). We will never order from here again -- especially when their competition is Modern Chopstick Chalet who beat them way out of the water. Their portion sizes were big, though (like every other Chinese restaurant), so they at least still have that going for them. read more

My family really enjoys this Chinese restaurant! We've been coming here for over 6 years. A couple of years ago we moved to another city about 30 minutes away. There are several Chinese restaurants around here; but, Zhou's is still our fave Chinese restaurant. The service is amazing. The father and sons are so kind and professional every single time. They never miss beat! They are fast and thoughtful. They have been accomodating when we ask for our food to be customized/made in a way that differs from the norm. The prices are reasonable. The deep fried tofu appetizer is our favorite. We always order spring rolls, too. Our food is hot and flavorful every time we order. Our daughter loves the fortune cookies with the "surprise notes" inside ; ) Within the past few years this restaurant has received some nice updates. They installed new counters at the cash register area. Most recently, I noticed they installed a new payment system. I recommend this restaurant, and we will continue returning. read more

Stopped into this restaurant for the first time at Como Lake Village. I usually goto to the sushi place next door, but figured i give this place a shot. I was greeted immediately and sat down at a table of my choosing. They had their lunch special at the time and it came fast and was very filling. Lunch special went until 3pm. I thought it would be a small portion, but i was wrong. They gave me a large plate, and it was very tasty. Will be back for lunch. read more

Severely disappointed. Ordered from skip the dishes (Zhous delivers their own orders however) for dinner. As a vegetarian, I ordered the vegetable noodles and a garlic sauce seasonal vegetables. When my order arrived, my noodles were covered in chicken, meaning I couldn't eat them. And my "seasonal vegetables" were just steamed bok choy, nothing else. I was looking forward to my dinner as many years ago I used to enjoy this place, but the best part of of the order was the sprite. read more

We ordered from here awhile back and we received pretty large servings. We ordered from them tonight and the serving sizes were much smaller but the price increased. The noodles that were sent were covered in grease and all we could taste was grease. We were attempting to find a new Chinese food place and thought this would be good from our past experience but unfortunately they didn't deliver. I've been here several times, and it's more or less what you might expect from a small, out of the way establishment. Having said that, it seems that Zhou's has built up a dedicated customer base, as it's regularly busy during the main lunch and dinner hours, so they're clearly getting something right. Service-wise, there is usually a single or pair of cooks working in the back kitchen, and a couple of staff present to serve the customers. Orders aren't delivered exceptionally quick, but in general they're served within a reasonable span of time. Likewise, the service isn't stellar, but the available staff typically do a decent job. Cleanliness is usually fine as well, and as usual, tea is provided when you're seated. The food is decent, not serving the most exotic Chinese dishes out there, but there's something on the menu for everyone. There is a full-size menu available for both lunch and dinner, although at lunch there is a dedicated menu for lunch specials as well, which offer particularly good bang-for-buck at ~$5 per entree. I typically order Szechuan beef fried rice or Satay beef, and both are always prepared consistently well. While the former can be a bit dry at times, it offers a bit of a spicy zing and is quite filling. The latter is prepared with chopped green peppers and onions, mixed in with the beef and covered in a thick gravy, and served with a heaping bowl of rice. Both make for a quick and tasty lunch, and the other dishes I've tried have been equally satisfying. Having been there for both lunch and dinner, I'd say that lunch is good for convenience, but the food is better at dinner. I've been there for several dinners with groups of six to eight individuals, and the consensus was that the food and selection was reasonably good. If you're hungry and in the area, it's a great choice for fine, cheap Chinese cuisine. read more

Ate at Zhous for the first time tonight with my dad. Was expecting white man's chinese food (sweet & sour pork, lemon chicken etc) and this is exactly what we got. We ate the lemon chicken, the sweet and sour pork and the chicken chow mien. We also dined in. My expectations were exactly what we received, greasy delicious white man western Chinese food. Other than being conveniently close at the moment, it is pretty much on par with any other Chinese food in the general area. I have nothing negative to say about the food. The service was good enough, the food was good enough. Will I eat there again? Possibly on a day when i've over indulged in alcohol the night before. If you are in the area and are craving Chinese food, I would recommend it if it is the closest place around you. Standard Chinese food joint. Nothing majorly different other than they play the Canucks games in restaurant which is a nice way to enjoy your Chinese. read more

This place is complete crap I'm not even kidding. All their shit food are not fresh at all. You should have a peek inside the kitchen on how they make sweet sour pork, fried rice ect... Total garbage. Poor service and rude to customers. If you think their food is good and cheap, well your eating shit to be honest. These people that work there (Anthony Zhou, John Zhou, Li Ming Zhou, and Wilson Lin) give poor service and very loud inside the kitchen that would scare away customers in the dining room. This is one of the better Chinese food restaurants in the tricities area and doesn't taste like gross food court Chinese, which is a bonus! Our usual order is crispy noodle chicken chow mein, breaded almond chicken, boneless dry garlic pork, bbq pork fried rice. The chicken in the almond chicken is a good size, not like a piece of leather like at some other restaurants. The crispy chow mein is one of our favs. The price is decent for the amount and quality of the food. The only item we didn't like was the beef and broccoli which lacked a bunch of flavour. read more

i love the food here! I've been there for lunch with a friend. We both had wonton soup, she had beef and broccoli and i had curry chicken chow mein for the price of $12.00. It was tasty and filled us up. Green tea is brought to you as soon as you sit down. I have also had delivery, They let you substitutes on the family diners at no extra cost, Our food is always delivered 20 to 30 minutes after calling and is always hot. Best Chinese takeout I've had since moving out West five years ago. Westernized, not authentic, but really, really great if that's what you're looking for. Have only ever had delivery (not eat in). Ordering over the phone (which I usually hate) is faster and more reliable (always correct) than any other delivery place. Food always arrives when they say it will (usually around 30-40 min), orders have always been hot, 100% correct, and delicious! Totally recommend, even my super-picky step-dad was impressed (first time ever) and the food is consistently good. read more
