Fried rice + lemon chicken
Justin C.

Conveniently located in Como Lake Village with ample parking, Zhou's stands out in a neighbourhood with relatively limited Chinese offerings. It's not the type of place you'd necessarily take a date but I could definitely bring my family here for a quick, casual, and affordable dinner. Came by for lunch in between classes at SFU and was pleasantly surprised. Huge portions and quick/friendly service; hungry student couldn't ask for more. They have all the classic North American Chinese fare but I went for a simple pork fried rice with a side of lemon chicken. Not the cheapest but prices were comparable to what I normally get at an Asian supermarket but with better quality. Would come again as im normally in a hurry but do crave this kind of food quite regularly. Zhou's easily ticks both boxes for me

Hidden rice to make portions appear larger.

Upset & Disappointed. Use to be our favourite place but it appears to have gone downhill, which is unfortunate because we were loyal customers. Overpriced and cutting corners when coming to the quality, taste and portion. The portion sizes have almost been cut in half which I wouldn't mind if the quality was there. Last and final time we ordered delivery it came to $80 for 2 large wonton soups, lettuce wraps and a dinner for 1! Together both soups consisted of noodles, 9 wontons, 2 shrimp, 4 pieces of broccoli and one piece of bbq pork for almost $40. Dinner for 1 which was $13 was rice (which was hidden under the two sides to appear larger in portion) 3 pieces of sweet & sour pork and chicken chop suey. I honestly tried to give them a fighting chance but knowing that we regularly ordered for years, they still tried to pass it off on us.

I decided to stop by for lunch and ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork (see picture). The portion size is on the large side, but there was more rice than the sweet & sour pork. Service is OK. The owner stays at the counter (at the back) and comes greet you with the menu in hand and a pot of tea as you come in and take a seat wherever you wish. When you're done, you go see him at the counter to pay your bill. For a strip mall, it was fine. It was comparable to any Chinese food at a food court. Service was quick and appropriate for lunch (if you are in a hurry on your lunch break, you will probably be safe). The place is very simple, no particular decor besides of the pair of Chinese Lucky Cats on the counter.

The worst Chinese food ever. Overpriced. Tasteless food, this place has gone downhill. Don't waste your money here.

I barely come to this area but I had an appointment nearby today. Searching the restaurants nearby…read moreand this place's rating is too high that I had to give it a try. It's small but has quite many seats, the lady is very friendly. She gave me a photo album to order from which is so fun and I have never seen anything like this before and every restaurant should 10000000% do the same. I ordered the 酸辣肥肠粉 pork intestine sour spicy noodle(added an egg) and potato shreds cold stir凉拌土豆丝 Ok I have to to say, the potato dish is THE BEST i have had in canada and it is a very very high compliment from me, since I order that whenever I can. It's soooo good and I ate the whole plate in a few mins. The pork intestine noodle is so so, I wish there are more pork intestine, I had 4-5 pieces and they r quite small, the egg tho, is sooooo good, it's worth it to add one to the noodle. They also add a ton of peanuts so if u have allergies u need to tell them, they wont ask u. She also gave me a small ice jelly dessert for free in the end, it tastes so good??!!! I am so full at this point otherwise I would ask if I can eat a full portion one lol Overall I will come back!

Not usually in the Coquitlam…read morearea and needed good food, this one popped up, and everyone was saying excellent things.... so off we went, not knowing there is actually free parking, but we did park on the street, and after 6 it is free. This place is tiny, as in it can seat about 20 people, and every table had people and had piping hot food on each. Both me and my friend needed to wait a few minutes till someone left, and when we got seated, they gave us their regular menu, and later on gave us a picture book.. and if you guessed it.... everything on their menu with a separate picture. My friend ordered his bowl of spicy pork chop glass noodles in soup, and I had a dry version of spicy noodles with pork. We also ordered their deep fried tofu, deep fried chicken, and a plate of spicy cucumber. Every dish was done just right, and what I mean by that is that every hot dish seemed to be made to order, and it was confirmed when we spoke to the lady there. The spicy cucumber dish came out, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients, the cucumber, although the chili oil used was spicy, due to the freshness of the cucumber, was sweet too. The deep fried tofu had a nice hard outer deep fried shell, and yet the inside was soft and really hot, the chicken took the longest, but this was worth waiting for, with the thin deep fried batter, I don't think I have ever had chicken this hot in temperature, and it was great. Both noodle dishes were huge, and I wondered how my friend ended up eating all of his, I had to take 1/3 of mine home as it was too much. We also ordered a plum drink and a hawthorne drink and at the end was served complimentary jelly as dessert. This was a great meal and if you are in the area, I would recommend you try this place out.

This place has been here since I was a kid. Glad to see it's still here and I'm visiting again…read moreafter 20+ years. All I remember was that I liked their hot and sour soup. Not really an authentic Szechuan restaurant. 30 years ago, most chinese cuisines were cooked by hong kongers or south chinese people. So, most of these dishes are going to be a southern take on it. Hot and sour soup - price is awesome. $11 enough for at least 6 bowls. Souo base is missing a bit of flavor but it is jam packed with ingredients. Drunken chicken - it was ok. Little on the salty side. Shanghainese pan fried pork buns - these were probably the worst I've had. Not made in house and not properly pan fried. No juice, super dry, no fried bottom crust. Bean curd wrapped pork dim sum - surprisingly this came out last. At least 20 min has passed. This is a steamed dish but it came out with dried edges like it was sitting on a dry heater. Taste was ok. Mapo tofu - asked for extra spicy and extra numbing. Numbing was there but nowhere near real szechuan numbing. Was not spicy at all. Sauce was more oily than saucey. The price point reflects the quality. Things are either mediocre or a complete miss. Would come again to try only the better stuff. Staff was friendly. Came to try to refill the tea way more times than normal. The iron goddess tea tastes much better than a lot of dim sum places elsewhere.

Small stir fry type thing with rice and soup. I've always liked their green beans and also their ginger beef. I enjoy their hot and sour soup as well.
