We have a commercial cleaning business - AAA Maid Service -- cleaning homes. We have purchased multiple vacuums and they have all been great. They clean so well! We had one that was still under warranty and they took such great care of us. The big stores won't do that. We also have taken our 60 year old sewing machine to them and they did great work on that as well. I know that the convenience of the big chain stores is appealing, however the personal touch and care is so important and meaningful. read more

I have an old Dyson DC25 that I purchased nearly 20 years ago when they first became available. It's been going strong all these years, until suddenly it lost suction. Sun Valley Sew and Vac not only immediately knew my problem, they repaired it in a very timely manner at a very reasonable cost, and made several helpful suggestions on how I can keep it going for another 20 years. The worst store for Kirby vacuum! Biggest rip off! I should have walked out after he said I didn't have the vacuum locked in place. I appreciated his help, so I in turn asked him what he charged for a service of the vacuum. $69.95 I thought that was a good price. I got a call the next day. I discussed that we had a few things that needed repair as well. He acknowledged what our concerns were. He did NOTHING to attempt the repair. He made it look like he did. I've dealt with using the Kirby for 30 yrs. I know when a belt is new. When antibacterialized, disinfected, clean and check filters is NOT DONE! I world NEVER RECOMMEND THIS STORE! read more

I took my White Model 1500 Serger in for service to address a couple issues I was having AFTER having taken it to a competitor. The machine was fixed here by an extremely knowlegeable service man who's worked on such machines for years. He fixed and moved a part that the competitor had put on UPSIDE DOWN (unbelieveable) and helped get the machine back to working in great condition. It was also a timely fix. PEOPLE - Very important! Record the Serial number of your appliance on the work order while in the shop. I say this because I took my vacuum to this thief and he gave me back a different one (same make/model) just not mine. Mine was in like new condition and this one is surely not. Also, I took it in because the self-propelled feature no longer worked and he said it never had that feature in the first place, which was a lie. DO NOT take any vacuum cleaner or sewing machine to this hijacker. I hope he is braced for Karma. read more

These guys know their stuff. I took my Dyson vacuum to be looked at and fixed. They did a great job and are very knowledgeable and quick. They did a great job cleaning it up and it looks and works like it's brand new. Prices are reasonable. Support the small businesses in our community. Don't throw it out if it can be fixed. I'll never go back to this company. Charged me to clean and service my vacuum and I don't believe he touched the insides. I can say this because there was the remnants of a ball point pen in the lower housing. Once it was removed then the vacuum ran just fine. It ran even better after the filter was blown clean (this is something that should've been done with the tuneup) so all in all it was a rip off. read more

$70 to service my vacuum, and 5 days. I don't mind the 5 days but I think the servicing was way overpriced. Instead they tried to sell me a new one. Yeah, that makes sense if I was going to drop $70! Instead I took it down the street where I have been before at more than half this price in savings. I came here because they were in the neighborhood, but a 10 minute drive was worth it. I am not feeling as though I am being ripped off with the other guys. Shop around, that's my advice. read more

I was very impressed with the owner's knowledge of vacuums! He provided a history of American vacuum companies selling out to Chinese companies. Bagless Chinese vacuum companies don't sell replacement parts so you have to purchase a new model. I agree with him that this is not right. If the vacuum only needs a $6 part, why purchase a new vacuum for $200 after a few years? He looked at the Dirt Devil I brought in and determined the problem - that I rinsed the large filter with water and it had not thoroughly dried - which prevented the vacuum from sucking up dirt. He didn't want to charge me, but I insisted on giving him $$ for a nice lunch. Such a great person with such wonderful vacuum knowledge!! read more

the guy that works here is quite the dick and i haven't even interacted with him irl...called asking if he had time to fix my sewing machine to which he laughed and said that there was a two week wait for repairs. i said " ok well thank you" and before i could hang up he scoffed and stated (very loud and condescendingly ) "well now you're just going to call around to every other repair shop to see what their wait times are but i tell you i'm being nice about it!".... hardly nice. so i calmly said that it's quite alright and i didn't have time to wait so i'd just purchase a back up. he cackled and told me good luck cause he hasn't been able to buy one anywhere........ i dunno what age he's living in but the internet is a wonderful resource for shopping. also instead of just being a helpful adult you handled your attitude like a miserable turd baby. kuddos! read more

Found this location using Hoover's website for authorized repair centers. I called ahead to see what kind of information I needed to bring with me for a warranty repair. The person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and knew exactly the Hoover warranty process worked. When I took the machine in, they were able to correct two separate issues with it that I identified within 5 minutes...I was expecting to need to leave it there and come back later to pick it up, but they had it going within minutes. They also noticed it was missing a screw/nut in the handle- so it was replaced free of charge. Highly recommended, they made my Hoover warranty repair easy and had me in and out quickly. The absolute worst customer service. Took machine in and got it back in worse condition. Was dismissed completely. Richard said my fault and don't know what I'm doing. Hello!!! I'm 78 years old. I've been sewing for 65+ years, pretty sure I know what I'm doing. Asked for my money back and he refused. Asked for half my money back because I now have to take it somewhere else. Refused. I thought a $70 service fee was a little steep being as a new Dyson only costs about $300. However, I brought my vacuum in expecting to pay the bill and instead the guy behind the counter did a quick once-over of my machine, told me a few things I could do to it myself and didn't charge me for the friendly advice. Walked my vacuum in because it was making noise. Within minutes he had it diagnosed and walked me through how to prevent in the future. Very quick, nice and informative. Had my Featherweight repaired here in January for $90. I Didnt use it for a while. Went to use it today and wont work again. Same problem as before. Called them and they wont stand behind their work because it has been over 90 days. A waste of $90. I am out the $90 and have a machine that doesnt work. The older gentleman who owns the place seems to be trying to give good service at a premium price. The sons,who seem to run the place are incompetent and careless. Told me they would call with an update on ordered parts on 3 separate occasions and did not call. After 6 weeks I went in to pick up the vacuum, not only did he charge me for somethings which I could not check on , they failed to put on the part that was causing the loud noise on the Dyson. So no parts and 120.00. I got the part on Amazon overnight for 28.00. Stopped payment on the card. Go somewhere else these guys are poor on service and loose with your money. read more

I had similar experience. The owner was rude and sarcastic. I waited 5 months for a warranty replacement part only to find it was never ordered and I was never entered in their system. I was not being treated like a valued customer and they had no problem with me going elsewhere, however they lost the damaged part so I was on my own. We purchased a vacuum cleaner from Sun Valley Sew & Vac, and have taken it back for service a number of times. With respect to our most recent experience in 2015, the service receipt indicates that a new bag was installed. Upon using the vacuum cleaner three times, it stopped working because no new bag had been installed. Sun Valley cleaned the clogged filter and installed a new bag at no charge, but they treated my wife in a disrespectful manner, essentially blaming her / us for the missing bag. We have decided to take our future vacuum cleaner repair business elsewhere. read more
