I reached out when I didn't hear from him and he said the plans were in "final review". I still haven't heard a single word from Josh or anyone at Suncoast Pools, crickets. It's exactly like all the other reviews (that haven't been removed) he comes over acting like he's doing you a favor, then completely ghosts you. Never got a quote, never got a follow-up, nothing, the lack of professionalism is unmatchedI. I cannot say enough about Suncoast pools! We broke ground at the end of March and in 5 weeks, we are enjoying our brand new back yard oasis! The work done was meticulous. Once the permits were issued, they stayed on schedule and we watched our yard transform. Every person we've dealt with has been pleasurable and professional! Followup review: Working with Mike on our punch list has again been a big surprise, in a VERY GOOD way. In less than a week Mike arranged to have multiple contractors on site to touch up minor repairs. I personally spoke with each contractor who were very interactive with communication and listened to my concerns. The worst..Josh came out..felt like he was doing me a favor..This was mid December..walks in with no mask and attitude which preceded him. Seemed fairly knowledgeable..never followed up, and never received a quote. I called the office four times and texted him..never had the courtesy to follow up..have up trying by mid January. Totally understand why there are so many bad reviews on yelp! I had to plug something in, so I gave him one star..otherwise if there was a negative column, it would be pegged to the other end. read more

If you want a pool construction company to stand beyond their workmanship, think twice about using Suncoast Custom Pools. We contracted this company to construct a pool and spa at our house in North Naples. During the construction process, we found Josh to be very difficult to work with. He went so far as to call me and said he was no longer going to accept calls from my wife.....you must be kidding! Who tells a client not to communicate with the project manager on a project costing $60,000? On top of that, in the construction agreement, it states that SCCP is not responsible for any damage that may occur by the subcontractors. We hade to spend about $1,200 to fix damage to our house. Where was Suncoast's quality control? Now, here is another major issue we are having with Suncoast. The pavers around the pool have been shifting and sinking in the ground since the installation. SC has come out several time to have their paver contractor fill in the areas where the pavers caved in. Now that the pool is about 2 1/2 years old, Suncoast refuses to fix the problem because the pool is out of warranty. Okay, I would completely understand if this problem occurred after the warranty expired and Suncoast refused to fix it, but this has been an ongoing problem since installation. Additionally, if Suncoast was responsible, they would have looked beyond a simple repair and looked into what was actually causing this problem. We are now renting the home to a family with 3 children and the parents won't allow the kids out in the backyard due to a dangerous hazard. We are very good customers, paid in full on time, referred 3 neighbors to get estimates from Suncoast, of which Suncoast sold 1 neighbor. On top of all of this we never received a thank you for our referral. Bottom line, when shopping for a pool construction company, do your homework and choose a company who stands by their workmanship, is ethical and honest. UPDATE ON MY PAVER ISSUE.....$500 TO REPAIR A PROBLEM THAT EXISTED BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

He acted like they were so busy that they were selling pools left and right. Ironically we are a cash customer and found another pool contractor. Today is August 17 and I have yet to hear back from Suncoast pools and/or Josh despite emails and calls. I assume with all of the negative ratings this company is out of business or will be shortly. If I could give zero stars instead of 1 I surely would. Two other pool companies came out and in less than a week both had provided me with a professional design and price proposal. It is with great pleasure that we applaud Suncoast Pools in Naples, FL!! Josh McKenna and Kim, and all of the workers are the nicest, most professional people in the industry. They are honest, sincere, polite, trustworthy and hardworking. We met with Josh originally to extend our lanai and after awhile decided a pool might be what we really wanted. Josh designed the most amazing, unique, one-of-a kind pool and spa for us. Suncoast connected us with tile and paver companies and landscapers. Josh convinced us to let him do the construction while we were in New Jersey for the summer. We had complete faith in Josh and went ahead with his plan. Suncoast arranged for all permits and HOA approval. Josh completed the project in a small and efficient amount of time, working with a tight schedule and supervising all aspects of construction. All county pool inspections were positive and easily and quickly approved. Throughout construction, Josh kept in close contact with us, updating us weekly as to the progress of our project and sending pictures. He responded quickly to emails and phone calls. Josh and Kim helped us every step of the way. They were quick to address any concerns we had and arranged for a wonderful pool service, which we couldn't be happier with. We arrived back at our home in Naples Reserve early September. When we came in the house and opened the sliders to our new pool and lanai, we were star-struck! We literally had tears in our eyes. Our backyard oasis is so special, so beautiful and exceeds our wildest expectations. Our pool and spa are like none we have ever seen!! Our decision was based on their reputation of satisfaction from neighbors within our community as well as independent research. VP Josh presented an explanation of what Suncoast provided, at our home. He was attentive enough to listen to our ideas on the build and respected the fact that we have been through this process before, in another state. Josh fully explained what was part of a basic package and what items were considered an upgrade, as well as the progress we could expect during construction. Suncoast was reasonable in their pricing and offered the advantage of an efficient timeline. After agreeing to a contract, we were provided an email detailing what work was to be scheduled on a daily basis. I was a bit skeptical at the ability to stick to the tight schedule, knowing that a pool management company is at the mercy of sub-contractors on occasion, not to mention weather considerations. However, each day, the detailed schedule was followed. It took only 6 weeks from the beginning day of excavation, to the time the pool was filled with water, beyond our expectations when comparing the experience of neighbors opting for other pool building companies! Any concerns we had during construction (understanding human involvement) were addressed through the Office Manager, Kim. Kim is in constant contact with Josh and responses were timely and efficient! Kim is always pleasant to deal with and it's obvious that the company is interested in a content customer. We have a new construction home and Suncoast did our pool. Our 1 year contract with them expires on October 20, 2018. In July 2018 we started having issues with the pool spa randomly turning on for hours at a time. We contacted the builder and from July to today, no one contacted us. We found out today that Suncoast refused to fix the issue which is why this has gone on for so long. If you're building a home or are looking into hiring this company, I would think twice. Technically we are still within our contract terms and they could care less about honoring that. read more

Our experience with Suncoast Custom Pools has been positive. We chose them based on their bid and schedule. We had to make a design change as a result of feedback from our HOA and Josh put us directly in touch with his designer to work through the specifics. Our pool was completed in April 2018 and we have been enjoying it daily since then and have referred several of our neighbors. The sub contractors and Suncoast Custom Pools stayed within the weekly schedule that we were provided and all questions and concerns were responded to promptly. At the beginning, we were advised of possible delays with the pool cage as a result of hurricane Irma but the schedule stayed within the time frame we were given. Suncoast pools of Naples installed a 40 ft pool they designed with our specifications. It is beautiful. It was built on time and to budget. The design was CAD developed and installed as ordered in the Fall of 2018. I recommend them providing you include in the contract any fears you may have for construction and post construction failures. The crew destroyed my irrigation well, pump and existing spray heads by breaking the well pipes then covering up and not telling me. This was discovered after adding the lines around the pool and starting up the system. It all failed after 10 minutes and took hours to discover. The well had to be repumped and piped with a new pump as did the entire system. The company refused to correct or pay for the damage of $3500. The latest issue is the pool heater which is bolted to a concrete pad. The supporting lags are rotting after just 30 months because the 4 bolts are not stainless. Be sure your contract covers damage during construction and faulty materials for at least 5 years. read more
