He offered us a sample of a dragon fruit flavor he was experimenting with -- it was light, clean, and bursting with natural fruit flavor. No artificial aftertaste, just smooth, refreshing perfection. We ended up ordering the pistachio baklava, and it was hands-down one of the best gelatos we've ever had. The pistachio was rich, nutty, and full-bodied -- not that artificial green stuff you get in most places. The baklava pieces added just the right amount of texture and sweetness, without overpowering the balance. It was creamy without being too heavy, and every bite made you want to slow down and savor it. There was also plenty of parking, and we got to sit outside to enjoy our treat in peace. I can picture Richie Cunningham, the Fonz and the gang roll up in a Chevy Bel Air after class, their friends working the counter. The ice cream is homemade, and in addition to the classic flavors, there are more interesting creations such as Aztec chocolate, banana Oreo, raspberry cheesecake, cannoli cream, coconut, maple walnut, and seasonal flavors such as apple pie, pumpkin, candy cane, etc. While the ice cream is creamy, the flavor is not as strong or distinctive as I like. It gets busy in the summer, and even in nice weather like an unusually warm last March weekend, the parking lot was filling up, to my surprise. It's not obvious from the front, but there are some picnic tables behind the ice cream shack for seating.

How can a summer be complete without indulging in a sinfully, decadent, velvety, creamy- ice cream... and this ice cream shop did not disappoint on ALL those levels. The owner, Joe, is a diabolical ice cream genius with the concoctions he has come up with. I have never in my life seen an ice cream menu to this extent ever before. When I heard about this spot I had to come and check it out for myself, AND I was blown away... hard ice cream, soft serve, coffee, floats, sundaes, milkshakes- your imagination can run wild here, and this place will still amaze you. Go big AND Go home... I had to "GO BIG" and get a 3 scoop waffle cone (Nutella, Funky Monkey and Cannoli). These were the flavors my tastebuds craved! The best part was the ingredients that went into each ice cream flavor. You can actually see the ingredients packed into each scoop... every bite bursted in robust flavor. With that said, I had to "GO HOME" with 3 different flavored pints. And, since then I've been eating ice cream everyday- SMH! I am sooo amazed by the Cookies-n-Cream. It's filled with soooo many cookies that it's not your average vanilla based cream... so come to the dark side. This is the first time I have fallen in love with a place that makes it by packing that much flavor. Needless to say, winter is coming and these pints will be perfect for a cozy indoor indulgence. I had the mint chocolate chip w hot fudge. But by the time I was able to sit down on their bench in the store, my hot fudge had mostly melted my IceCream quite fast. So I went to the counter to ask for half a scoop so I wasn't eating icecream soup. The girls behind the counter said to ask JOHN, an owner(his dad is also an owner) & when I showed him my melted icecream & that I would pay for an extra scoop, and you know what JOHN said? He said they can't add it to my existing cup & turned around (to my surprise & delight) scooped up a "healthy size scoop" into a sept cup, ON HIM, $0!!!!! I told my husband- omg, now he has a customer for life! So cool! That one act of kindness was sooo nice. And we chatted (even tho it was soo busy - he took the time to answer my questions about the how long it take to a big jug/gallon container and he said 15 min- from start to finish! And he said he loves his job bc he can make as many flavors/combos he can think of & it turns out to be a real creative process. I asked about catering & they don't do that, but you can order as many gallons as you want. He even shared how the NY Giants (I think that was the team-lol) ordered a BUNCH of gallons for an event they had! He & all his employees "the girls" were soooo nice. And the icecream? Not like little tiny pieces and they weren't super hard, just the right size & melted in your mouth like a dream on a chocolate river!
