Sometimes louder than the stereo. 2 trips to service... can't duplicate, no issue. small town mechanic diagnosed the issue in under 10 minutes. 3rd trip to service... hold their hand , explain in detail , take mechanic for a ride, make a video . willing to leave the vehicle for as long as it takes. service manager says they will check with mazda. etc. they closed the work order and left a voicemail basically saying "we are too scared to get near the air bags and plastic, you can just stuff some foam or a rag in through the dome light yourself " On a brand new vehicle??? I think the service is great. But the windshield insurance they offer is useless. Any damage over 6 inches will be denied by Caltex insurance company. I got a rock on my windshield and it went immediately to over 12 inches. I took a pic immediately and went to Sundance within 12 hours and the insurance company denied the claim. So I am out of pocket for $1800 for a new windshield plus the cost of the windshield insurance. read more

I had a windshield replacement done and the glass place they used chipped my side pillars, scratched my roof and drivers door as well as left glass all over the dash and front seats. After a long drawn out ordeal nothing has been done besides the service manager making promises that it will "look good as new" and that they would also detail the inside due to the glass. I drop my car off which I was told by the service manager Marcin would go to the body shop and they would take care of it. Marcin stated in previous conversations that the glass shop said they would take care of it no problem by getting the body shop to fix it. I show up to pick my car up and Marcin flat out lies to my face that it went to the body shop and they said that's what they do. Then he says actually we just washed it here and I used a paint pen(which made it look like I have paint bubbles )Then he tells me they didn't have time to do the interior clean.....why I booked it 3 weeks previous and it was there all day and never left. They are now saying nothing happened and it was rock chips. Can't wait for the chunked out spots to rust.....Yay me. Watch your vehicle while it's here people. read more

I just bought a car from Sundance after seriously looking for a car from many different sources, including several other Mazda dealerships and Honda and Subaru and Toyota (all in Edmonton). Of the ten places where I test drove cars and asked about the details re: purchasing one, I found Marcus Bennett and his manager Richard at Sundance Mazda to be upfront, honest, patient, kind, fun people who knew their cars well and who wanted me to leave happy. Marcus can take and make a joke, he was able to tell me all the details, he is still a real human being, if you know what I mean. And the car? Oh, I love it. So yes, this is likely a bit biased. I may also be a bit high after spending such a huge amount of money (debt, how I missed you. NOT) ... but I seriously don't think I'll change my mind once I've had the car for a while. And I seriously think if you're at all interested in a Mazda that you should go to Sundance and ask for Marcus. read more

I've been amazed at the amazing service at Sundance Mazda, every time I've gone in. They are always happy to help and even though I didn't buy my last vehicle from them I still get it serviced there. Think about that. They are so good that even though I bought a private vehicle they still treat me like a loyal customer. Now, you Cynical Charlies are probably saying "of course they treat you well, you're still paying them" And of course I'm paying them, but how many other dealerships can you go into and get the "we're far too busy" feeling. These guys even shuttled me to a registry to get my New car that I didn't buy from them , when I was waiting for he oil change. Speaking of oil changes. They have this crazy life time oil change program that you can buy! Seriously not a scam. I thought it might be, but no, it's not. I was car shopping with my daughter when we went to this dealership. It was a Tuesday night. We were interested in one vehicle so we put a refundable $ 500 deposit on it. The manager and the sales person both standing right in front of us at the time agreed to hold the vehicle for us until closing time on Thursday. On the following night, Wednesday, we returned to the dealership to test drive the vehicle again. Something was weird as they made us wait in the showroom. We waited for over 20 minutes when they eventually came back to us only to tell us that the vehicle in question was sold and that the agreement was to only hold until 5:00 PM Wednesday. You can imagine our surprise. I did not think that they would be so desperate to sell this car as to renege on our agreement from the night before. We Were not very happy with the way we were treated but we did transfer our deposit to another car. A day later we informed them not to continue holding the second vehicle as we were not going to purchase it. That was over a month ago. To this day, we have been given the total run around on getting back our deposit. They now tell me that I need to go to the dealership personally if I want my deposit back. I still have not received it. I wonder how that can be when we did a similar thing at a Toyota dealership and received our deposit back in days without having to go there personally. If your looking for a car, run from this dealership. They were not honest in their dealings and you might be out $ 500 bucks like I am so far. Terrible experience there period. read more

Excellent Communication from the service department. A few years after purchasing my used vehicle there I took it back in and asked for a bit of help diagnosing an issue. They seemed happy to help, and even did a quick inspection in the shop free of charge. They noticed a broken motor mount during this and quoted me for parts and labor. I asked to be shown exactly where the issue was and again and one of the service techs seemed happy to come out and show me, and there was no pressure, judgement, or up-selling when I mentioned I would be purchasing the part elsewhere and installing myself. Unfortunately replacing that broken part was not the entirety of the problem, so when the issue persisted they diagnosed my car on a road test for a reasonable fee (and at the same time did some recall/warranty work). On the road test they suggested next steps in repairing the issue and were again very supportive despite my communication that I would not be purchasing/installing the parts in their shop. After replacing the second part the remainder of the problem (and likely cause or the broken mount) was resolved and my car was running good as new. Since purchasing the vehicle I have been very happy with the communication and assistance of the service department - despite the fact that they usually know I will be doing the work myself. read more

Bringing my car in for what I thought would be a simple tire mounting turned into an absolute nightmare. I got my winter tires taken off for my all seasons to be put on the same rims, and within 48 hours, I had 2 flat tires. when I called them, they refused to pay the towing. Fine, we'll talk about it when it gets there. They had said "You will have to change your rims down the road as they are slightly dented." That doesn't mean within the next 48 hours! Went through a complete hassle with them, and finally spoke to the manager who said they will cover the towing charge. I had an oil change done on my Mazda that I purchased in Saskatchewan. It's a 2016 and I've kept up to date with the required servicing with my original dealership. The ladies at the service desk were very friendly and efficient. The shuttle driver was awesome, funny and enjoyable. The mechanic suggested a few other services to be made, two of which I had done a couple months prior and said to leave the recommendations for now. I thought they could see with the VIN# what has been done to the vehicle in the past, especially since it's always been at Mazda dealerships. I didn't fall for my threads being worn out unevenly and needing a wheel alignment since my tires had been rotated a couple months ago and on their vehicle inspection sheet it was shown that all tires had even thread wear. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

This is a longer read but SO worth it if you are looking for an honest review of Sundance Mazda I am a very sceptical person, especially when it comes to anything auto related. I mean, we all know of a time or two when we have been ripped off by a sales person in the auto industry. That is exactly what happened to me PRIOR to coming to Sundance Mazda. In July my air conditioner in my Mazda 3 broke on the same day that I was supposed to go on a road trip to celebrate my birthday. In the morning I frantically went to two stores in Edmonton where I was quoted $200 just for the service people to look at my car to determine if indeed my air conditioning was broken (it was blowing hot air... clearly it was not working properly) and then I would have to pay additional money to determine what exactly was causing the problem and more money to buy the parts needed and to install the parts. I knew it would have cost a fortune to go ahead with so I decided to check out Sundance Mazda as a last resort. Immediately upon entering this place I knew this company was different than the other ones I had visited. Connie and Jeff (customer service in the services department) were the first two faces who greeted me. Shortly after, Marcus Bennet (Sales Manager) also greeted me and I told them how skeptical I was about getting my car fixed here because the other two places had quoted the cost to fix my car over $1000! But Marcus, Connie and Jeff assured me things would be different here and they were right. While I was waiting in the waiting room for my car problem to be diagnosed, I saw one employee walking around the store asking other employees if they wanted anything from the place he was going to for lunch. He started to pass by me and I assumed he was walking towards an employee who was standing near me, but no, he stopped right in front of me and asked me if I wanted anything because I am "a paying customer and deserve it just like the employees do". Later, I figure out his name, it was Jeff Reid- the president and dealer principal of Sundance Mazda! What a kind man he must be to offer to buy lunch for a total stranger. After I was offered free lunch, Connie called Luis Rocha (Sundance Mazda's shuttle driver) to drive me back to my house so I could pack for my road trip. This man was so courteous, he drove me 30 minutes all the way to my house in traffic and even offered to wait outside while I packed so he could then bring me back to Sundance once my car was fixed. I declined the offer because I knew I'd need at least an hour to pack. It was now 5pm and Mazda closes at 6pm on friday so I called Connie to tell her I would need a ride back anytime. Since the shuttle driver was unavailable, Connie offered cab money so I would be able to get back to Sundance with no headaches. If I would have went to another dealership to get my car fixed, it would have been $1150 (diagnosing, new parts, labour) and simply not worth it to fix it. Between Marcus and Connie, they saved me almost $500 and I walked out of there not only grateful that I saved money and had air conditioning again but also grateful that I finally found a place that I trust to take care of all of my auto-related issues (at the lowest prices in Edmonton!). Connie even gave me smarties as a small birthday gift right before I left. Oh, and if you're wondering, I did make it on my road trip and was only one hour behind schedule! Bottom line is that these people were total strangers to me and yet they treated me like family. Had a generally good experience buying my first car from Sundance Mazda. I was working with the sales rep Ryan at the beginning and end of my purchase. He was very friendly and helpful, and I genuinely believed he wanted to help me find a suitable car for me. He showed me a variety of different options with characteristics I was looking for and did not push or bully me into feeling like I had to make a decision that day or to choose a car that I did not want. At first, I was not looking to get a car with standard transmission but because he gave me the room to think about it and not feel pressured into it, I ended up doing just that. Before driving away from the parking lot, he had done extra research for some of the added benefits my car had. He printed out instructions for me and gave me a quick tutorial for how to navigate them. I appreciated the extra steps taken and the friendly service. One point of frustration was I asked if they would lower the price from $14,000 to $13,500. Another dealer I was working with at the time said he could arrange that so I placed a deposit on the car. The following day I came in again ready to buy the car and they were suddenly "unable" to make that price cut. I asked for the manager and after a few minutes, he came in and said they could not cut down the price but they could take out a $500 charge they put on for servicing from their dealership. Quite annoying that they don't keep their word.. if you can't make it happen don't say you can just to get my business. read more

Alright I personally had a bad experience purchasing a vehicle from there, but I am going to comment on the SERVICE DEPARTMENT I had my engine replaced from a vehicle I had purchased from sundance only a year after I bought it. Yeah. The Service Department was however very helpful, and constable contacted me and gave me updates on how the progress was coming. I had a hay day with the warranty company (who of course tried to back out of paying for the engine--and failed). I would bring my vehicle back again, because they were very honest, didn't over charge me for bogus little things. read more

Hmmm..don't know how they can justify charging $150..to diagnose a check engine light. .when it take about 5 min. Had a friend do it for me he diagnosed the problem and reset the error in less than 5 minutes.Also they we're going to charge me $105.00 dollars for a gas cap...I checked a few dealers in the US and it cost me $18.95. I made an appointment to get my headlight bulbs replaced because one was burned out. After my oil change, I was quoted $59.95 for the bulbs plus $29.95 for the labour. I didn't get it done then because it was too much. Then I bought bright whites and just had to get them to change without the charge for the bulbs. The when I came in today for my appointment, they wanted $39.95 for each bulb for the labour, even though I was originally quoted $29.95 total. That's $80 for 5 minutes work. I don't think my next car will be a Mazda. With my Honda, I could change the bulbs myself. With Mazda, there's too many obstructions around the bulbs to make it easily done. But for $80, I guess I'll have to do it myself. read more

I am 20 and was car shopping for a while and I always bring my mom with me because I want to get a second opinion about any car I considered purchasing. I was paying for the car completely on my own with money I had saved up but many dealerships that me and my mom went to disregarded me until they found out that I was paying and even after they realized I was paying, I got the impression that Sales people weren't taking the negotiating process seriously because they assumed that I would get my parents to cover whatever I couldn't afford. I would rate this dealership 0 stars if I could! I recently had a terrible experience at Sundance Mazda. I won't bore you with every last detail of how this dealership dropped the ball (trust me there are many). However I will say that from beginning to end, Sundance Mazda displayed a complete and utter lack of organization & attention to detail. The repeated errors started to make us question what kind of headache we were getting ourselves into by purchasing a vehicle here, so we decided to walk away after a week of frustration. No one seemed to know what was going on throughout the entire process. This might have something to do with the fact that we had over 8 different individuals call & speak to us. (That's right...8 people to "try" to tend to 1 car deal) To sum it up, they are guilty of the following: Poor product knowledge, poor communication throughout the process, no attention to detail, misinforming us and leaving out IMPORTANT details. The customer service took an even further dive into the abyss with the last call we received from Richard (whom we had never spoken to previously). Not only was he unaware that we had advised the dealership that we were walking away from the vehicle in question, but he didn't care to know why whatsoever. He was abrupt and rude and simply told me that he would be keeping my deposit. Terrible really. Do yourselves a favor and stay away, you'll be thankful you did! read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO MY WORST ENEMY. I've purchased a number of cars throughout the years at varying dealerships but this is by far the WORST customer service experience I've ever had purchasing a car or otherwise. I purchased a CX-3 in May and thought everything was fine. Fast forward to a few months later, and I had another driver take a left hand turn into my car. Once I had to start dealing with the insurance company, I realized that when I was setting up my insurance during the purchase, I had been provided the INCORRECT VIN NUMBER. I found myself in a situation where TD Insurance had to verify that I had not provided them with the incorrect information intentionally. At this point I'm thinking to myself, it's probably just an oversight. Once I called Sundance Mazda, they denied that I had been provided inaccurate information and that it was probably my SHADY insurance company - TD is not some random insurance company I found googling. I end up in a situation where I cannot get my car fixed and REALISTICALLY is not even REMOTELY my fault. Fortunately, I found an email that Sundance Mazda had sent me verifying they had provided me with the incorrect information. It took me approximately a MONTH (not including the time it took to fix) to sort this out - meanwhile I have a BRAND NEW car that I cannot drive. Even better, once the VIN number was corrected on my insurance, MY INSURANCE PREMIUM WENT UP. ALL I asked from Sundance was to have my lifetime oil change package, which had not been used, to be refunded because I did not want to deal with this ATROCIOUS dealership anymore. They refused to refund me and offered me a $300 credit - this would barely cover the increase in my insurance premium and then a $500 credit. I did NOT want a credit, I wanted to avoid this place for the rest of time. I said I was not interested, and wanted to see what options I had with a lawyer at which point they STOPPED taking my calls/replying to my emails. After tracking down the GM over a period of a few days, he had the AUDACITY to tell me that he wouldn't have even OFFERED me the $500 credit and that it was TOO much compensation. He then tried to intimidate me by telling me that he had no interest in talking to me further and that our lawyers could get in touch. After months of dealing with this COMPLETE AND UTTER GARBAGE, I needed to get an oil change and gave in. Keep in mind I refused to take the credit because I did not want to indicate to them that it was SUFFICIENT for the complete headache they caused me. NOW, I went to get an oil change and was having some issues with my vehicle's sensors. I pick up my car, and the service light is on, there is a new sticker staying I need to get an oil change in 800km, which was less than when I dropped it off this morning. Once again, could be an oversight, as long as the oil change was completed, I could potentially look past the light for the weekend. HOWEVER, NONE OF THE SENSORS IN MY CAR ARE NOW WORKING - I came to find this out as I was making lane changes and noticed that the lights were not on/the car was not beeping. Fortunately, I continue to shoulder check regardless of all the sensors in my car because I'm not looking to cause an accident, but I could have easily relied on the sensors as an indicator and put myself in a dangerous situation. I am taking a road trip this weekend and MAGICALLY have to find time in my 14 hour work day tomorrow to go back to get this resolved. I called Sundance and their best recommendation was to put me through to the GM's line (the same person who treated me like TRASH initially) where I had to leave a distraught voicemail and will likely have to wait until tomorrow. SERIOUSLY, I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH - AVOID THIS PLACE. This has been completely and utterly stressful and I legitimately HATE this car now and am stuck with it for however many years. read more

I have been getting my Mazda serviced at Sundance for nearly 5 years and have never had an issue. They service is as quoted and on time. And they always provide a detailed consult if more work is required. Yesterday my van required more than the scheduled service and Jennifer and Michael were very helpful and accommodating. All work was carefully described and there was no pressure or rush. They even provided a discount on parts and labor. There is a free shuttle if you want to leave, or great coffee with a comfortable seating area and lots to read if you wish to wait. They wash my vehicle and my small dog is always welcomed. I bought a 2010 Mazda at Weber Mazda last Summer, fully reconditioned. Three months earlier I went to Weber for my oil change, and there were no problems. I took my Mazda to Sundance last week and guess what???? I needed $1300 worth of work. I was presented with the work order like it was a bill for a funeral, and I was told that my brakes were dangerous, and needed to be replaced, several other things as well. Something sounded fishy about this, as three months prior, at Weber (where I purchased the vehicle), said everything was perfect. After the service advisor told me about all of the (supposed) work, I said, 'just the oil change'. She looked at me like she just got held up. I immediately phoned and booked my vehicle in with my regular mechanic of 15 years (who I trust implicitly), he checked it out thoroughly, while cross referencing Sundance's invoice, along with the check of the vehicle prior to delivery August 1st. Every single thing that Sundance said was absolutely untrue. He did say that I had over 25 % left on brakes, and gave me realistic timelines about when I should expect to do certain work - being done. I believe that Sundance saw me as someone new (and a woman),and saw a perfect opportunity to try and intimidate and scare me into having unnecessary services done on my car. I will NEVER return to this dealership. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. I went in there one day to test drive and didn't buy a mazda 3 that day because it wasn't in our budget if I added insurance . The salesman consistently texted us to check up on our decision. When we said no,he offered us a counter deal. They offered to pay for our first years insurance to bring the price down. This deal sounded alright, until I asked for a breakdown of payments and they wouldn't give one to me. All he said was the vehicle would be 149/ biweekly for 7 years, and this price for the first year would include insurance. Our insurance was only 2000 a year. Then after the year was up, when insurance wasn't counted into the price, it would remain the same. How were we saving a thing?? We were being charged for insurance in future payments in the total as well as an additional 1000$, The total price of the car offered was 18665 and by the end of the term we would've paid 7200 in interest costs. When I mentioned this, the salesman said he was stretching to help us.....watch what your paying here! read more

We had brought our car to Sundace before, but would now NEVER take it there again. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIRS!!!!! Our car was towed here and had to wait 3 days for a part from Vancouver (they say they only use genuine parts on their service invoice), and we found that they had used a Ford part. That is not the worst...after having the car brought back after the initial repairs, it came back with acceleration issues...and now it came back with a plug on the air box UNPLUGGED, the airbox NOT PROPERLY ATTACHED TO THE CAR AND RATTLING, and a bolt COMPLETELY MISSING from behind the ignition coil. I will NOT RECOMMEND this dealership to anyone, and I will NOT be taking it back to them to look at the items above, because I am afraid they have already completely screwed up my vehicle. I have reported this dealership to Mazda Canada as I think that they had incompetent mechanics working there now. read more

I've never had an experience like this at ANY car dealership. We were driving from Calgary to Edmonton and hit some debris on the highway which ripped the plastic cover at the bottom and in the wheel well area. I called Sundance Mazda to see if the service was still open which I found out was closed. I explained to the receptionist about our dire situation and she put us thru to Martin. He told us if we could get there in the next 30 min or so he would attempt to help us. We got there and Martin wearing a suit took the car and worked on it himself. He fixed it enough that the car could be driven safely back to Calgary. Come to find out Martin was the GM. Not only did Martin help us but also invited us to join their team in his birthday celebration!! When does that ever happen to you?? To sum up, the help and customer service forwarded to us is unheard of. And to top things off, we weren't charged either. I went into Sundance Mazda to view and subsequently purchase a used Ford F-150 Raptor. Sam was my salesman initially. We took the Raptor for a test drive and then Sam and I crunched out some workable figures on the truck and on my trade in. I made it known at that time that the driver side heated seat was not functioning at all. He assured me that this problem will be made known to the manager and wasn't at all pushy or persuasive when I told him I wanted to think about it overnight. Riaz then took over the deal in Sam's absence the next day and we were able to come to an agreement on a trade-in value and truck price as well as a "2-way LCD remote starter" that I had chosen from a display board. I'll discuss this later.Then "the shop guy" Terry came out to try to convince me that the malfunctioning heated seat was actually working and that it was just me and/or the weather that made it seem like it wasn't working. I then explained to Terry that I am an inspector and I'd driven 6 Ford Raptors in the last 2 weeks and this was a problem with 3 of them. A simple google search of "Ford Raptor heated seat problem" reveals forum upon forum of F-150 owners with this common problem. He then hummed and hawed about how he could take it to Ford because apparently, Sundance Mazda's service department couldn't be disturbed to look at it and they may not have parts which would take weeks... Virtually every excuse he could muster. I asked, "can you book it in and have it checked out because there is something problematic there and have the remote starter installed on the same day so I'm only without a vehicle for 1 day?", "Ya, ok ok" responded Terry. I was accurate in believing that this would never get done. Also, it is worth noting that it's now been over a week after purchase of the Raptor and the seat warmer DOES NOT WORK! The finance portion of this experience was even worse. Christine took all of my applicable information and it took a week to get a response from her which seemed unusually long but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, knowing that we were both at the mercy of the bank. I went in, finally, to pick up the truck after approval of finance only to discover that my term of finance had been preselected by Christine without my approval to a 7 year/84 months term. I would have to go through the credit application process all over again to change this to a 5 year term. She then said my bi-weekly payment would be $299, then $399, then $340, then $209... at one point she turned to me and asked what figure she had just given me. The finance model in the computer was so butchered at this point, Richard "the manager" had to be called in to check her math. After the dust settled, a bi-weekly figure (none of the above by the way) was attained plus extra warranty was added as per my request. However, it was not explained until after I had signed for the extended warranty that a $50 deductible would have to be paid upon use of said warranty if I go through Sundance Mazda and a $100 deductible for a Ford dealership (I think). I still don't know what precisely I paid over $4000 for. I called Sundance Mazda to book the installation of my remote starter and they got me in the very next day. This would have been a sign of better things ahead had they installed the model that I had chosen when signing. I chose the 'top of the line' by their standards for $595 at cost price with the LCD screen showing the vehicle on or off, locked or unlocked. They installed an inferior LED system that beeps and flashes; not the "2-way LCD remote starter" with the screen that I agreed upon and showed them on their display when signing the purchase agreement. Also known as a "bait and switch" and by reading other online reviews, Sundance Mazda is no stranger to this practice. Upon receiving my vehicle at the end of that day, I was told by "the manager" Richard that the dealership quoted him a month to get my heated seats fixed. I told him that when I called my local Ford dealership, they quoted me 2 weeks. He then proceeded to tell me, "see, it's better if you do it on your own. Because I'm from another dealership, it will take me longer." It's ok if this doesn't make sense to you, the reader, because it doesn't. At Sundance Mazda, you can expect them to cut corners to make a sale. Once you sign the purchase agreement, you're no longer a customer; they treat you like a number and a stupid one at that. Apart from the permanently sour-faced receptionist who wouldn't bother to smile, greet, or address me on four separate occasions as I walked in, every time you go in the management and finance are always chatting it up in the back room. I was forced to deal with Sundance because Ford F-150 Raptors are rare.I've dealt with Honda dealerships and the Volvo dealership in Edmonton and received excellent customer service.
